‘He overpowered me’ – Masechaba Ndlovu details what really happened when Jub Jub r@ped her

Masechaba Ndlovu has reflected on her alleged rape ordeal experience at the hands of Jub Jub.

The TV and radio personality penned her ordeal in a sworn statement leaked to the media. In it she recalls how Jub Jub – her ex-boyfriend – allegedly raped her in his mother’s house when she was just a teenager.

In an affidavit tweeted by journalist Eusebius McKaiser, Masechaba claims she was a “grade 11 or 12 learner at Mondeor High School” when she began dating Jub Jub. She also claims she told him she was a virgin.

Masechaba claims the incident occured after Jub Jub invited her to his home to watch a movie and eat popcorn. She also claimed that Jub Jub instructed her to “carry a notebook and pen” and “pretend to be a journalist coming to interview him” if his mother; Mama Jackie asked.

She detailed the course of events; “Molemo prepared popcorn and we watched a movie. Then we kissed and he requested we move to the bedroom in case his parents come back.

“We continued kissing. He tried to persuade me to have sex with him. I told him I was not ready [and] I repeatedly said no and kept pushing him away. I even used my knees and legs to push him off because he was on top of me”.

Masechaba then revealed that she gave up fighting after a “physical struggle”.

“He told me it would be quick and I should relax. There was a physical struggle between us. I became physically tired and he eventually overpowered me, pulled my legs open and penetrated me.

“At this point I was numb and in complete shock. I stopped fighting. I was paralysed. The experience was brief and painful. I put my clothes on and went home”.

The next day, Masechaba allegedly reveals that Jub Jub ordered her to take emergency contraceptives.

“Molemo called and asked me if I knew about morning after pills. I had never heard [of them]. He explained that I needed to get tot he pharmacy and get morning after pills to prevent pregnancy. I did as instructed”.

“It was a humiliating experience. I couldn’t tell my mother because I had lied to her about my whereabouts and I was scared that I would be in trouble for going to a boy’s house. I was ashamed and embarrassed [and] did not tell a soul”.

Masechaba also reveals how the experience impacted her, years later.

“I blocked the entire experience out of my mind, and due to the trauma, I did not have sex for years after that experience. I did not admit nor want to admit to myself that I had been raped”.

Department of Sports, Arts and Culture spokeswoman Masechaba Khumalo’s home was turned into a boxing ring when her ex-boyfriend allegedly moered her current bae on Friday night.

The ugly incident, in which Masechaba told police that her tooth fell out as she was trying to play referee, took place in Randburg.

The 37-year-old spin doctor, who recently embraced a spiritual calling to become a sangoma, opened a case of common assault at the Randburg Police Station.

According to the version of events contained in a police statement, the former Metro FM presenter responded to a knock on the door from her ex while she was with her family. The statement further revealed that she told him to leave because she was praying.

“On Friday, 26 February at 11.50pm, the complainant was in the house with her family when her ex-boyfriend knocked at the door. She told him to leave because she was busy praying,” read the document.

Her ex appeared to have left for a brief moment, only to come back.

“He went away for a few minutes, and then came back. He walked around the house and looked through the sliding door.”

She further told police that her ex knocked again in a harsh manner before allegedly beating up her boyfriend, identified only as Mr Mbatha.

“He then came straight to the door again, and he knocked harshly. She opened and her ex-boyfriend allegedly started beating up her partner. She tried to stop him and he pushed her away. This resulted in her front tooth falling off. She picked it up and put it back on. Her partner was bleeding and sustained some injuries on the face. She has a restraining order against the suspect.”

Masechaba declined to comment, only saying “the matter is now in the hands of law enforcement authorities”.

Masechaba Ndlovu under fire for revealing late Anele Ngcongca’s mother’s sickness

Masechaba Ndlovu has once again landed herself in hot water on these social media streets. This follows after the TV presenter turned spokesperson for the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture disclosed the late Anele Ngcongca‘s mother’s illness to the public, without permission from the family.

In a heated exchange between her and sports presenter Robert Marawa, he reprimanded her for informing the public that Anele’s mother allegedly has Coronavirus before the family could disclose the illness themselves. Masechaba also got dragged for disclosing the amount of money the family received from various sponsors who are helping out for the funeral.

It all started when Robert Marawa called out minister Nathi Mthetwa for being silent after the passing of Anele. This after a follower expressed their disappointment at how Anele was celebrated in other countries such as Belgium and not South Africa.

That is where Masechaba stepped in as her role of being spokesperson, she said:

“Dear @robertmarawa, neither the MEC nor Minister @NathiMthethwaSA can visit the family at this time as Anele’s mother has tested positive for COVID-19.
For this reason the funeral has been moved to next week,” tweeted Masechaba.

“Sundowns has provided R100,000. The Provincial Department of Sport provided R40,000. Thabo Tutu from the Provincial Department is part of the organizing committee and has been working with a team lead by a family representative and looking at quotes, etc.”

She further revealed that the family had to reconsider the amount of people who will be attending the funeral, from 20 000 down to just 100.

“Furthermore, he advises that the above funds will be sufficient to cover costs of the funeral. The family is of the view that there must be 20, 000 people at the event. They were told that it must be confined to 100 people as per the COVID-19 health protocol.”

Masechaba then informed people that a person by the name of Thabo will be meeting up with Anele’s sister who has been to the media talking about how disappointed their family is as nobody from the minister’s office contacted them.

“Thabo is arranging to meet with Anele’s sister who has been on social media and on radio, to request her not to be reckless and to withdraw her statements. I hope this clarifies things.”

Robert then responded by disciplining Masechaba for disclosing such private information without the family’s consent.

“Hi @MasechabaNdlovu…The family has NOT released a statement on the nature of illness of uMama and I’m not sure if you’ve been granted permission to publicly disclose such….A diagnosis was ONLY received on Monday 30th November…Anele passed away on 23 November…no statement,” he wrote.

“And no phone call to the Family came through from the Minister or his Office since his passing is all that @SiyasangaNgcon3 (Anele’s sister) was lamenting in her tweet. Nowhere did she say she’s asking for money which is what you are now highlighting in the pockets of donations you mention. Anele was a well paid footballer who’s savings regime is well documented in various publications way before he passed away. So money was NOT the issue.

“Anele also has a family in Greenside, Johannesburg and I’m positive nothing has happened on that side either… A statement, phone call…video call, Skype, whatever is available would have been more than sufficient.. The ‘Thabo’ u talk about is unknown to the family and neither is the R40 000. Your desire to censor a bereaved member of the Family should never be your focus. What is “reckless” is your response.”

Social media was not impressed at all by Masechaba’s tweets and called her out on them. For some, they took it back to when she revealed that Mampintsha was abusing Babes Wodumo, without Babe’s approval.

Here are the reactions:
