Media personality Minnie Dlamini-Jones has, for the second time, tested positive for Covid-19.

Health authorities revealed last week that new variant B1.1.52, named Omicron, had been detected in Mzansi.

And, Minnie has been infected by it.

She revealed on social media that she was feeling worse than the first time around.

“I just tested positive, again, for Covid-19. The Omicron variant is hectic. I definitely feel worse than the last time,” said Minnie.

In July, she revealed that she had tested positive for Covid-19 when Mzansi was going through the third wave.

“It is my birthday this week and at this rate, I will be spending it sick in bed. Covid-19 sucks,” she shared at the time.

Pearl Thusi called out for supporting Amanda du Pont yet she previously mocked Bonang

Pearl Thusi called out for supporting Amanda du Pont yet she previously mocked Bonang

The list of celebrities who found themselves caught up in the middle of Jub Jub’s latest rape scandal keeps growing. Pearl Thusi is now facing the prospect of being cancelled by tweeps following statements she made, as she is now branded a hypocrite.

Following the backlash against the Uyajola 9/9 host, Pearl Thusi went online to express her disappointment about the lack of consequences for Jub Jub over many years, and in her comment, threw shade at South African men in general.

This move did not sit well with Mzansi men, who did not appreciate being lumped together as abusers who escape accountability. They called her out for this, saying that it is wrong for her to be shading a category that includes all her male relatives too.

But the ultimate stopper came when tweeps dug up an old video of her showering love and praises on Dj Euphonik only three days after he had been accused of hitting Bonang Matheba and bruising her very badly.

In the aftermath of Bonang’s accusations, Pearl had supposedly ridiculed her and sided with Euphonik. Which is why it feels ironic for many social media users to now see her coming out strongly to preach against gender based violence.

Tweeps now feel that she is showing a ridiculous double standard. They think she is only speaking up now because she is not friends with the accused, Jub Jub. But when it was her friend Euphonik who was facing the same damaging allegations, she had no sympathy for the victim.

But Pearl is not one to be bullied and cower in silence. She is coming out swinging at her accusers. In her defence, she agreed with a tweep who said that it was a very old video whose context was being deliberately twisted to fit an agenda.

It is still unclear whether the video was indeed meant to ridicule Bonang and defend Euphonik at the mentioned time, or if Pearl is right and she is being deliberately made to look bad. But Bonang may be the deciding factor in this back and forth.

However, Bonang is yet to give any comment on the Pearl trolling. She is also unlikely to, because as we can imagine, the whole Jub Jub saga must have been pretty traumatic for her to rehash her own abuse and relive it. Either way, Pearl remains clear on where she stands on this, and it is not where tweeps would like to make it look like.

Why Amanda Du-Pont aborted Jub Jub’s child

Why Amanda Du-Pont aborted Jub Jub’s child

It’s an interview that left many shocked.

He wasn’t going to hold anything back, Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye told interviewer Macgyver “MacG” Mukwevho on the Podcast & Chill Podcast.

It has been almost five years since Jub Jub was released from prison for causing an accident when he and a friend, Themba Tshabalala were drag racing under the influence of hard drugs and alcohol on a public road near a school.

Four children were killed and another two survived with brain damage.

This week in a tell-all interview with Channel O show Podcast and Chill with MacG, the TV presenter and rapper spoke openly about his time in jail, his relationships with Amanda Du Pont and Kelly Khumalo, and how he longed to be with the child he shares with Kelly.

Now Amanda has responded, making rape allegations against Jub Jub and pleading for a lawyer to help her, saying he did not “smash” her but raped her for two years.

Amanda says what she did wrong in the past was brush this under the carpet and she wishes she had spoken up.

“First of all, Molemo, you raped me. I was rapped for two years solidly. So pleased don’t make it sound like it was a relationship. I was absolutely afraid to leave. I was afraid of the power that your mother had. I was aware of the stifling and sifting of money your mother did with Oprah and also what you guys did with muthi and medicine and made me believe my life would be in danger If I spoke up. You didn’t smash me, you forcefully opened my legs and forced yourself on me, numerous times for two years and made me believe I had no way out,” she says.

“In that time I had an abortion of course because there was absolutely no way I was going to have a child that was forcefully given to me. And the most painful part about all of this is I was a virgin and I told Jub Jub I planned to be a virgin until I get married.”

Jub Jub has not yet officially responded to the allegations, but his employers at Moja Love have yet again distanced themselves from him and have suspended him from his duties on Uyajola 99.

He spoke openly about his relationship with actress and influencer Amanda Du Pont who was once reported to have allegedly accused Jub Jub of rape. He spoke about how he met Kelly Khumalo while dating Amanda.

“Our relationship was good. I fu&$ed up. I was dating Amanda, she was still an actor, we dated for about three years and then we stayed together in the South. I thought it was a hit and run. There were so many temptations. Me being with Amanda was never about ukumfebela (cheating). When I was with Amanda I saw Itshitshi (Kelly Khumalo) and I thought I’d hit and run, but she knew a lot of journalists, she was everywhere and before knew it there was a picture of me and her on the papers and Amanda saw it and moved out” he said.

“I never saw it coming but I saw myself spending a lot of time with Kelly without knowing what she had done for that to happen. It’s almost like she hit me with a vagina on the face. Everyone knows Kelly uses umuthi (witchcraft or traditional medicines). I guess she used that for me to stay.”

“When you look at the time, I had Amanda Du Pont and Kelly, there was no way I would have gone for Kelly over Amanda in my sober mind.”

Jub Jub saaid his mom told him that Kelly had used muthi on him.

“My mother told me, and when I saw my actions, I knew. For me to go home was kinda hard. My episode with Kelly was not good.”

When asked by MacG’s co-host Sol Phenduka who had introduced him and Kelly to cocaine, Jub Jub denied ever introducing Kelly to drugs.

“She knows the truth. There’s no such. She’s had so much of a rampage. Kelly is the victim as far as she is concerned. She hasn’t done anything wrong. Did someone take her hand and force her to take coke? I have never forced Kelly to do anything. Me, being fatigued doing show to show, back-to-back, up and down. I needed a pick-me-up. Every artist in the country has got their vice, either too much coffee, sex, coke, or too much alcohol. There is nobody who I have not met, I may be wrong. That doesn’t have a craving or an addiction of some sort.”

Jub Jub said fame comes with pressures.

“When people look at us they see God and worship us. If my last gig is at 4 am. I need an up and weed makes me sleep. I tried ecstasy but I was too happy and smiled at the wrong people. Then they introduced me to Coke, and I had energy and I was rocking a show like anybody’s business. I wasn’t using it every day but when performing, and I went through peer pressure where was told yi style (it’s fashionable).”

Jub Jub said the last time he spoke to Kelly was when he wanted to see his son.

“I wanted my son. I’m just fed up. I went to jail, I came back, there was a lot being said about me. I didn’t have a voice, ngidakwe ngamabonda (drunk from the four walls). But I was trending from behind bars. There are always two sides to a story. I can’t call anyone stupid for believing what Kelly said, but she ran with it. She knows me, she is the mother of my child. The reason I have not said anything bad about Kelly is that she is the mother of my child and I respected her until the so-called reality show came out.”

“How can a whole reality show be centered around Jub Jub and 20 percent be about her. Kelly has an amazing voice, the most powerful voice. But I can’t take that against her. I was never gonna do what Kelly did.”

Jub Jub also alleged that at the height of his downfall, Kelly kicked him while he was down.

“When I was going down, Kelly went to go meet up with a woman named Sarah Setlaelo at the Glen Mall to discuss a book,” he said.

“The reason I’m here today is because my ancestors don’t take sh&t and God

“Kelly met up with this woman about writing a book about me, doing this and that. I lived with someone that was digging a hole for me. The book came out while I was in trouble and things went from bad to worse. They were constantly planning and plotting. I was sleeping in the same bed as this woman. She would go to court wearing fur like it’s a fashion parade but kids are dead and paralyzed. We went to a point where there was no fu$%ing money. I respected Kelly until that reality show. She said Jub Jub is a deadbeat dad, he doesn’t want to see his son but she was contradicting herself. They brainwashed the little man and told him what to say.”

Addressing his desire to have a bond with his child, he said: “Everyone is asking Jub, why are you not fetching your son, people don’t know what she’s doing. I never had Kelly’s number, I picked up the phone and said I need my son, I’m dying inside. I need my son.”

Jub Jub added Somizi phoned Kelly and asked for permission to send her number but she allegedly turned him down.

“This boy is being expelled from this school and that school. I know what my little man is going through. He is supposed to have my surname and I want the world to see the kind of person Kelly is. If she can fight with her own sister, who am I?” he asked.

Jub Jub proceeded to play a voice note allegedly asking Kelly to see his child.

“Whatever happened between me and her should stay between us and not the child. Give me a chance to be with my son. I never wanted Christian to be on covers and TV.”

He also said he was working on a documentary that will reveal everything.

Amanda yesterday urged women to come forward and speak up against Jub Jub and said she believes Kelly Khumalo’s side of the story.

After making a video exposing ex-lover Jub Jub, Amanda reached out to other victims of who suffered at the hands of this man to come out and report him. There has been a number of women who sent her messages, however, there are others who made it public.

Going to that MacG interview was not such a great move for him. Everything has been falling apart since the interview. The man had just regained popularity after serving time in prison for killing children in a drug race.

Masechaba Khumalo, who has stepped away from the limelight, and is now a spokesperson to the Minister of Department of Sports, Arts and Culture, has too stepped forward and says she too was r@ped by Jub Jub. She tweeted that, just like Amanda, she too was still a vlrgin, and he r@ped her in his mother’s house.

However, some have come forward on twitter, and they are saying they don’t believe Masechaba’s r@pe story. They say this is because she is saying Jub Jub r@ped her when she was still vlrgin, whereas she has previously came out before saying her step father r@ped her when she was 9 years old. Not long after, Masechaba Ndlovu and Jub Jub’s cousin claimed that he has also abused them. Mac G on the other hand is also trending after he made distasteful jokes he made about trans women.

In the wake of Amanda Du Pont’s s.e.xual abuse accusations against Jub Jub, nobody is safe on the internet, as people’s past crimes are being dragged back to light. Jub Jub’s mother, Jacqueline Maarohanye – Mama Jackie to those who know her – is among those catching fire.

Tweeps have now rehashed her kidnapping accusations. Mama Jackie was popular for her “noble” initiative to provide a home for orphans who had nowhere else to go. She said she wanted to protect the vulnerable children from violent abuse.

With this initiative, she raised a lot of money in the form of donations from influential people, including Oprah Winfrey and Nelson Mandela. There was even a documentary done on her that hailed her as a South African hero.

But it wasn’t too long before it all came crashing down, when in 2017 the “Angel of Soweto” was accused of selling two orphaned children. In an expose by Carte Blanche, it was revealed that her orphanage was fake.
She would routinely have children tell sob stories about how they witnessed their parents being killed, but it was revealed that all this was fake, and that she coached and pressured them into telling lies so she could get money from donors.

The case that brought it all crashing down was when she “relocated” two children to live with a couple in Mpumalanga. But the court charged her for selling the children for R30,000. She denied these accusations and defended herself saying the money was a donation to the orphanage from the couple, to show gratitude.

She was sentenced to 12 years in prison, resulting from the discovery that her orphanage was unregistered.

Now that Jub Jub is facing public wrath, Mama Jackie’s crimes are being laid bare for the world to remember. Many tweeps now blame her for the way her son turned out, as they are saying she created a monster by never holding him accountable for his messes, and cleaning up after him every time.

More tweeps have come out to share their experiences of abuse, allegedly at her hands. She has been accused of physical and psychological abuse, ranging from shaming students by making them strip naked, to cruel punishments because they didn’t do as she wanted.

While she is currently serving her prison sentence, it is clear that she will also have to answer to the court of public opinion when she gets out, just like her son is doing now. There are obviously many who still hold grudges against her, and the main sentiment is that she has even more crimes to answer for.

For now, we wait to see how it all plays out. But it is clear that there will only be rough days ahead for the Maarohanye family.

Amstel terminates contract with ‘Podcast & Chill with MacG’

Amstel has officially terminated their contract with Podcast and Chill with MacG.

This is a result of distasteful jokes he made about trans women.

The podcaster has lost another major sponsor and it is really sad.

In the recent episode of “Podcast and Chill with MacG”, Mukwevho and co-host Sol Phenduka were discussing the latest cheating scandal involving actor Vuyo Dabula.

During the conversation, Phenduka is heard saying: “Shame man that (that) had to happen to Vuyo. An amazing guy. I saw him last week at Auckland Park. Yeah, he likes riding beautiful transis.”

Following this, Amstel Lager has since announced that they withdrew their partnership with the show, saying in a statement:

“The Amstel brand, locally and globally, is centred around friendship and inclusion of all people, regardless of gender, race or sexual orientation, without discrimination, and we distance ourselves from any transphobic and homophobic views. We have officially parted ways with ’Podcast and Chill with MacG’ and will no longer be a partner as of 1 December 2021,” added the statement.

“As a responsible business that fully respects the rights of everyone, we have decided to terminate the relationship with MacG, with immediate effect. We distance ourselves from the harmful commentary against the LGBTQI community and humanity at large,” read the Old Mutual statement.

Studio 88 group marketing manager Loren Lennox said they had initially offered MacG and his team a four-episode sponsorship deal after the podcasters approached them looking for new sponsors.

“The Studio 88 Group stands firmly against the harmful and offensive comments and statements made by MacG during one of his recent Podcast and Chill with MacG episodes, as same goes against our core values and beliefs as a company group in South Africa. In light of the above, the Studio 88 Group wishes to distance ourselves completely from the aforementioned statements, podcast, and its host/(s). We have, therefore, decided to terminate, with immediate effect, any business/sponsorship relationship we may have with MacG,” read the statement.

Media personality Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye has responded to the claims made by singer and songwriter Kelly Khumalo that he’s an absent father to their son, Christian.

In a recent interview with controversial podcaster MacG, the presenter and ex-convict played a voice note recording that he had sent to the singer, claiming that she never opened it.

In the recording, the musician can be heard requesting to see his son.

“I have recently come to witness certain things that are not great regarding our situation with our boy. I need my boy, and he needs his father. Please can we meet at your soonest convenience.”

The Ndikhokhele hitmaker continues to tell Kelly that during their meet-up, they need to put their differences aside for their son’s sake.

This comes after Kelly revealed in her reality show, Life with Kelly Khumalo, that Jub Jub was not a present father and had not reached out or seen his son in years.

In a now-deleted post, Jub Jub took to his social media on Tuesday to share that because his name was tarnished for many years, he was yet to break his silence on many topics he did not address.

“There’s power in those who have been silent and finally get to speak. I despise people who take advantage of the weak and vulnerable; people who judge anything they know nothing about. My name has been dragged in the mud for far too long; people mocking and undermining what it took to build this name,” he wrote.

“MacG just got a sneak peek of what’s to come. The real truth about myself, family, snakes, prison, friends, accident, justice system and everyone in it as well as all events of my life will come out, with proof. I warned you about abusing me and using my name ngathi iChappies. This is the beginning of a rare-breed story.”

Lerato Mvelase: ‘I don’t have a problem with my man cheating’

Lerato Mvelase has shared her views on cheating in relationships, saying she’s open to having a partner who steps out to “snack”.

The actress and media personally shared her opinion during a conversation on a Tribal Media House podcast.

“I personally don’t have a problem with my man going out there and snacking, because it’s your body … a grown man. I’m not going to be watching you and what you do with your penis, it’s not my purpose to be in a relationship and worry what you’re doing with yourself,” she said.

Lerato said this new-found view was based on past experiences and she’d be willing to go as far as packing condoms for her partner to make sure he’d stay safe.

“I’ve come to realise there is no point in making a man something that he’s not … if he’s a man who’s going to see other woman, what I would like is someone who can engage me on that.”

Lerato’s failed relationship with actor and comedian Siyabonga Radebe made headlines on several occasions and fans were shocked to hear of their split in 2017.

A source had revealed to Move! magazine that the reason for their divorce was Siyabonga’s “cheating ways”.

After the article, Lerato shared a statement on her Instagram page encouraging women to leave their relationship should their partner decide to cheat.

“I encourage every woman married, in a long relationship, children or not. Walk away from him if he cheats on you, makes you feel insecure by involving other women in any way that is not appropriate,” she wrote.

As a host in a relationship-themed reality show, Lerato often shares her opinions on relationship.

“The biggest reasons couples break up in the 21st century are social media, finance, miscommunication or non-communication and lack of respect in a relationship,” said Lerato as she shared her take on relationships in a promotional video for Mzansi Magic’s Seng’Khathele.
