Nandi Madida announces new single

It’s been two years since award-winning, platinum-selling singer Nandi Madida released her last single, “Organic”. In the time since, Madida has been growing her social media presence and delving into more brand work.

A few months ago, Madida teased on Instagram that she was finally working on some new music. Today, she announced that she’d be releasing her latest offering, “Want You”, alongside amapiano producer and DJ, Lebza The Villain.

The Instagram post includes a video of both Madida and Lebza wearing all black and dancing to the song in a photo studio. Judging by the audio on the video, “Want You” will be her first foray into amapiano.

Last week, in celebration of Women’s Day, the South African Music Awards (SAMAs) announced that Madida would be one of the hosts of the upcoming awards show, which will be held on August 28 in Sun City.

Madida also added through a press release: “When I accepted my first SAMA in 2020 for my collaboration with K.O, “Say U Will”, I would not have imagined that I would be hosting just two years later.

As Your Host for the @TheSAMAs The South African Music Awards I cannot wait to laugh, dance, sing and have a good time with you all! As we celebrate THE BEST MUSIC currently in the world ? (yes I said it)! South African Music ????.

Nandi Madida to host South African Music Awards

Nandi Madida has been announced as one of the hosts for South African Music Awards (SAMA 28). In June, the nominees were announced in 0ver 30 categories and many of the fans’ favourites have been spotted.

Well, Nandi will be joining the list of hosts for this year.

The news was made known by SAMA through their official Twitter page as they said: ” Ke mosadi wa sebele, @Nandi_Madida. We are proud to announce that she will be one of our hosts at the SAMA28 live on the main stage! A re yeng Sun City! Many of her fans took to the comment section to congratulate her.

Social media is very toxic for children – Nandi Madida

Actress, presenter and singer Nandi Madida says social media is very toxic for children. Madida is married to singer and record producer Zakes Bantwini, and the couple have two children, son, Shaka, who is five years old, and three-year-old daughter, Queen Nefertiti.

Referring to Penélope Cruz’s CBS Sunday Morning interview about the adverse effects of social media on children, Madida took to Twitter to express her views on the toxicity of social media. I was lucky that during my childhood there wasn’t social media,” tweeted Madida.

“I worry so much that these sometimes toxic platforms do take a toll on children, as a parent you just want to protect all kids from the toxicity that comes with your Twitter, Facebook, Instagram
The star went on to remind fans that social media isn’t “real”.

“They’ll be trolls, liars, opinion makers, admirers etc. But it is paramount to understand that you cannot in any way let a make-believe world affect your mental health and reality. Much love ” she shared the post on her Instagram as well.

Media personality Nandi Madida celebrates her autistic daughter

SONGSTRESS Nandi Madida celebrated her daughter, Nefertiti, on World Autism Awareness Day on Saturday, 2 April.

Taking to Instagram, she revealed that the three-year-old is neurodivergent (the term is used for people whose brains function differently in one or more ways than is considered standard or typical).

“Happy World Autism Awareness Day! Proud of my little neurodivergent. She’s also the reason my family members understand themselves and their genetics better,” wrote Nandi.

The media personality said Nefertiti is the reason her family understand their genetics and they are grateful for her.

We are grateful for you my smart, kind, beautiful, young queen. May you inspire the world with who you are,” she continued.

Her followers commented on the post and said Nefertiti is blessed to have Nandi as her mum.

BajakiMading commented: “She is so pretty. #autismmoms are God’s angels.”

Another Instagram user, Asante Pema, wrote: “She is blessed to have you. #worldautismawarenessday. Together in this.”

Lungile Xaba said Nerfetiti is brave because of Nandi.

“I’m so proud of you Nandi. You are so strong and brave. She’s a warrior because of you,” she wrote.

Mzansi can’t get over Nandi Madida’s real age, Is she really that old?

Media personality Nandi Madida recently took to her Twitter to reveal that she will be celebrating her birthday in the next coming weeks and her fans have since taken to wishing her a happy birthday in advance.

But what has had tweeps in shock is when she revealed that she will be turning 34 in a few days time. According to them, they had imagined that she was really that old when she looks like she is still in her 20’s!

And in truth, looking at Nandi, one would not think that she was in her 30’s at all. She is a beauty and she has managed to stay young and fetch her body despite being a mother of two beautiful children.

Nandi Madida’s powerful prayer as 2022 approaches

Nandi Madida has taken to her social media to reflect on all the past experiences in the last 2years.

The year 2021 is almost running to an end and many of the celebrities are grateful for how far they have come.

During this period, many have lost their loved ones and family but still grateful for the gift of life.

Nandi on the other hand took to her Twitter to pray that they don’t get to experience as many death news as they did.

She said the last time she felt overwhelmed by death was during the AIDS pandemic where she lost a lot of family members.

“I pray that we don’t get to experience as many RIPs as we did the last (almost) 2 yrs for the new year.The last time I personally felt this overwhelmed by death was during the AIDS pandemic where I lost a lot of my family members that i loved so much. God please be with us all ??“

Nandi Madida pens sweet note to celebrate her mom’s birthday

Nandi Madida is elated her mother is turning a new age today, even if she tried going against her mom’s principle on a special day like this. Taking to social media, the multi-talented star shared an old snap of her mom and captioned it with a short birthday note.

However, she intentionally tagged her mother’s Instagram account, knowing fully well that she doesn’t like it.

“Happy birthday mom! @thandekamngoma (you’re gonna kill me for tagging you again! But I’ve always been your most annoying kid ).”

Nandi Madida on motherhood and plans for 2022

Media personality and singer Nandi Madida has opened up about her reason for taking an impromptu year off from work to focus on motherhood. This year was the one year that I actually got to take time off, which is something I haven’t done in ages. So focusing on motherhood has been amazing and just being OK with not doing anything,” she tells TshisaLIVE.

After being featured in Beyoncé’s short film, Black Is King, Nandi says she felt it was the right time to take time off to rest and be a present mother to her two children Shaka, 5, and Nefi, 2.
Apart from doing her duties as Eucerin’s ambassador, Nandi has been dedicating some of her time recording new music but says people should not expect a collaboration with her husband Zakes Bantwini any time soon

“As calm as we are as individuals and even together … we both have egos when it comes to music. Zakes obviously knows what he’s doing because he’s been to school for it and I’m just like I know what I like.

“People romanticise the idea of us being together, we’ve actually tried it and we can’t even get a minute into it. But if it does happen it has to be organic, and you’ll know it’s an achievement. Nandi says 2022 will be her time to shine on a global scale after signing with a new artist management agency M88.

“2022 I’ll be coming hard from a more global perspective. But I love keeping these things quiet. After Black Is King, I was like ‘can I rest.’ I just signed to Macro [M88] — if you see Taraji P Henson commenting on my Instagram … it’s because we’re part of the same management along with Michael B Jordan and others. So we’re coming back,” she shared

Nandi Madida congratulates hubby over Osama success

Nandi Madida expresses a high level of elatedness following the historic success of her husband, Zakes Bantwini’s hit song, Osama.

The song has been in the mouth of people before its’ release, and it’s doing wonders even after it got released.

Osama is seen constantly topping music charts, but it’s more interesting to know that the song has been number one on SA radio monitor chart for 10 weeks at a go.

Nandi takes to social media to congratulate her husband for making history.

Nandi Madida’s son Shaka auditions to sing Osama with his dad on stage – Video

Nandi Madida‘s son Shaka is determined to perform on stage alongside his father Zakes Bantwini, so his parents made him audition.

Singer and media personality Nandi took to Instagram on Tuesday sharing a video of her son’s ‘audition’ tape singing Zakes Bantwini’s hit single Osama.

“This is getting serious! Zakes Bantwini twin and son Shaka Madida just auditioned this morning for his dad as he wants to perform with him on stage, and he’s dead serious,” she captioned the post, tagging Zakes.

In the video Shaka is heard saying: “I want to join Dada on stage with a microphone. [I want to] sing along with Dada on the stage …” before bursting out in song.

Zakes has been sharing videos of his son Shaka practising the Osama song and fans have been hoping to see him get his moment on stage too.

Zakes’ single Osama broke the internet before it was even released on September 10 and it has since been a hit song beyond the country’s borders.

From Spain, Portugal, England, Switzerland and Kenya or even being played by renowned international DJ’s like Diplo, Osama created a worldwide stir.

“Ushering the new season the #OSAMA way! Thank you for making this song number one,” Zakes wrote, sharing an appreciation post on his social pages.
