Former celebrity iFani says he doesn't feel sorry for AKA

It seems iFani hasn’t forgotten the shade AKA use to throw at him in the past.

Former rapper and artist iFani real name Mzayifani Boltin who made several hits song from 2010 to 2015, still has many issues with the music industry.

iFani claims he is no longer a “celebrity” and he is well known for his rapper attitude, such complaining about award shows being rigged and “beefs” with other rappers. He has been criticised by Cassper Nyovest and AKA for the standard of his music, who have called it “trash”.

Years later, iFani has not forgotten the shade AKA threw at him four years ago.

Kiernan Forbes (AKA) tweeted: “To think … iFani trolled ME. Fast forward. My album went LEGIT platinum and he hasn’t been seen since. That’s life.”

AKA has been going through a rough time personally since the death of his fiance Anele Nellie Tembe. Videos were posted and leaked on social media showing their unstable relationship.

With all of this going on, iFani doesn’t feel sorry for him at all, tweeting he only feels for Nkosinatihi “Black Coffee” Maphumulo whose private life is also under scrutiny.

He said: “I’m so glad I’m not a celebrity anymore. I feel for Nkosinathi.

”I feel for Kiernan. No, wait, sungxama … I feel for Nkosinathi qha.“

Black Coffee felt vindicated after a protection order was not granted by the court to his estranged wife, Enhle Mbali. Mbali has accused the musician of domestic abuse and is now “tired” of protecting him.

The artist management company, The T Effect, has released a statement on behalf of rapper AKA, real name Kiernan Forbes, announcing his withdrawal from Huawei Joburg Day.

The announcement comes after a friend of AKA’s fiancée, Anele Tembe, spoke out about the alleged abuse she suffered at the hands of the rapper.

The friend, who wished to remain anonymous, has provided police with a copy of a video Anele gave to her in March, in which AKA can be seen breaking down a door in their Bryanston apartment.

Anele fell to her death from the 10th floor of the Pepperclub Hotel in Loop street in Cape Town on 11 April. She was 22.

The rapper was scheduled to perform at Huawei Joburg Day on 28 May.

“Mr Forbes informed the team that at this time, he would like to take time out to focus on his current state of mind and out of respect for the public sentiment, as he prepares to engage on those,” said the statement, released on Wednesday.

“The hip-hop megastar has elected to take a step back from the musical eventing space because he is currently in a space where he feels it is necessary to place a greater emphasis on looking after his physical and emotional well-being.

“Furthermore, out of respect for current social conversation about him, in the public domain, he has chosen to take the necessary time out for self-introspection and healing so that he can adequately address all the pertinent issues in due course,” the statement continued.

The statement added that the rapper would not be taking any further interviews or questions and has been advised by his attorney not to engage in the matter.

In response to AKA’s withdrawal from the event, 947 tweeted: “We respect and understand your decision @akaworldwide. There will be no additional changes to the #HuaweiJoburgDay lineup.”

Mzansi rapper AKA finally speaks out through his legal team on the accusation of assaulting his late fiancée, Anele Nelli Tembe.

The rapper plainly said the photos and videos that went viral on social media didn’t detail the full event.

Supa Mega distanced himself from Gender-Based Violence and in an official statement shared by a local publication, he promises to answer every query.

Rudolph Baloyi, senior associate at Mabuza Attorneys said:

“Mr Forbes takes the current events playing out since this past Sunday seriously. It is regrettable that he and his brand are now associated with GBV. However, he assures his fans and the public that he is not a perpetrator of GBV. In due time he will respond fully to all questions and queries. Currently, the situation is heavy on him and his family as a whole.”

“It is also difficult to deal with public outcry and condemnation on social media. The screenshots from an unreleased video seen over the past weekend online are not a true reflection of the alleged situations that arose on the day.”

AKA still loves his late fiancée according to a statement published last Saturday; he said he’s not a suspect, rather a witness.
Meanwhile, a GBV organization have called out people and streaming platforms to mute the rapper’s song in other to get justice for Anele Tembe.

Following leaked screenshots of what looks like AKA breaking down a wooden door and a video of their home in chaos while Nellie is sitting down crying – some fans have started accusing AKA of gender-based violence through social media. More recently, AKA broke his silence through his legal team. The statement was shared by TshisaLive.

Rudolph Baloyi, senior associate at Mabuza Attorneys said that the rapper assures his fans that he is not a perpetrator of gender-based violence and will respond to all the questions in due time. At the moment, the situation is very heavy on him and his family.

Baloyi added that it’s been difficult dealing with the condemnation on social media and that the screenshots from the unreleased video shared by News 24 are not a true reflection of the events that occurred.

“It is also difficult to deal with public outcry and condemnation on social media. The screenshots from an unreleased video seen over the past weekend online are not a true reflection of the alleged situations that arose on the day.”

On Saturday, before the video and picture were leaked, Kiernan revealed that he has submitted himself to psychological and spiritual counselling. He also said that it’s sad that he finds himself having to speak on the nature of his relationship with Nellie and that some people he and Anele loved and trusted are using their troubles to create a negative narrative around him.

“I am a passionate and emotional person. what I will not do and stand for is watching people attempt to disparage my name and importantly, Anele’s character to suit a narrative we both never signed up for.”
“I own up to my past and current traumas and thus I have submitted myself to psychological and spiritual counselling for my own benefit and growth
“I hope everyone affected by Anele’s traumatic passing does the same for themselves, individually and collectively, so that they may all afford her spirit the rest she deserves and come to terms with the choice she made that fateful morning of 11 April.”

“It is a sad day when I find myself having to speak to the nature of my relationship with Anele. What makes it even sadder is the knowledge that some of the people, she and I loved and entrusted with our deepest troubles are now using those weapons to set a negative narrative on my character.

Tweeps come for Ifani’s head after the rapper trolled moaning AKA

Rapper and TV presenter Ifani clearly forgot to read the room when he poked fun at his nemesis, AKA who is going through a very distressing period. Ifani, who is one of the few rappers to pioneer Xhosa raps, failed to let bygones be bygones when it comes to his beef with the mourning rapper.

Well, we did not expect Ifani and AKA to become the best of buddies after the tragic ordeal occurred, but a little bit of courteousness would have been appreciated by the Megacy.

If you look at his biggest rival, Cassper Nyovest’s attitude towards the entire incident, (he said absolutely nothing – he did not even take slight jabs) it is something many admire.

This morning, Ifani decided to deride Kiernan saying he does not feel sorry for him. The distasteful manner in which he mocked AKA saw him getting dragged once again with many people telling him to just let it go.

Ifani tweeted about Black Coffee saying he feels sorry for him “as well as AKA” because they are celebrities. Hence, their dirty laundries and private matters are on full display for the entire world to see. Breathing a huge sigh of relief that he is no longer a celeb.

“I’m so glad I’m not a celebrity anymore I feel for Nkosinathi, I feel for Kiernan (crying face emoji). No, wait, sungxama (don’t get mad)… I feel for Nkosinathi qha, (only)” he tweeted.

Black Coffee is currently going through a very messy divorce with estranged wife Enhle Mbali. Almost every week they trend on social media as they are battling it out in courts.
AKA lost his fiancée last month when she fell from a Cape Town hotel. Recently, disturbing videos of the two of them revealed that their relationship was extremely toxic.

The comments, as expected, are lethal, kind of like the last time he dissed AKA, the Megacy came for him.

AKA’s father Tony Forbes speaks out as things get out of hand

AKA’s father Tony Forbes speaks out as things get out of hand

Rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes’s father Tony Forbes has in an exclusive interview spoken out against calls to #MuteAKA as investigations continue into the death of AKA’s fiancée Anele “Nelli” Tembe.

Tony told a local publication his son has been struggling to mourn properly because of the “damaging public perceptions” about the nature of their relationship with Nelli.

Nelli died on April 11 after apparently falling from the 10th floor of the Pepperclub Hotel in Cape Town.

Video footage of an incident involving the couple went viral, resulting in speculation around violence in their relationship.

Two videos of the same incident were leaked. A certain local publication reported the one version showed AKA breaking through a door behind which Nelli was hiding. Screengrabs showing him breaking through the door went viral.

A local publication is in possession of another video which a source claim is the same incident. It shows AKA’s Bryanston home in disarray with awards smashed and glass broken. AKA narrates in the background, claiming Nelli had tried to jump off the balcony. A Tembe family spokesperson would not comment on the footage.

An NPO opposing gender-based violence (GBV), Women for Change, reacted to this development by calling for radios, streaming services, and fans to stop supporting AKA’s music and other projects.

Seeing the calls from Women For Change to #MuteAKA, Tony took to Instagram to give them a piece of his mind.

Speaking to the publication, Tony said it was frustration that pushed him to engage the NPO.

“It becomes frustrating as a father to watch while your loved one is being disparaged and tarnished. Relationships are very difficult to navigate, I can only imagine what one under public scrutiny is like. Do all relationships have their ups and downs? Absolutely, and Kiernan’s relationship with Anele was one of those. But in talking about it we have to be truthful and be accountable to the overall truth of it.”

Tony emphasized that the existence of NPOs such as Women For Change were necessary and condemned GBV in all its forms. He added, however, that he expected them to act with caution and avoid acting in haste and without a complete set of facts.

“The fight against GBV has been slow and painstaking in gaining ground and recognition. For the longest time, the battered have not been heard nor given a platform. I support the movement. I get the frustrations that the movement is faced with and I understand that when a public personality is ‘exposed’, it lends to more noise to bring attention to the cause.

“With the same breath, we have to caution ourselves from acting in haste and by proceeding to cancel people without the full facts being laid bare. We have to interrogate allegations. In this instance, we are going off based on images grabbed from an unseen video that rightfully evokes emotions. We should be asking ourselves where the video was shot and what is the context of it with audio. As a family, we oppose GBV and do not endorse such behaviour.”

Speaking about how Kiernan is coping, Tony said AKA has been finding it difficult to express himself and last week he had resorted to pouring his feelings out into music.

“Kiernan has always possessed a strong character and never gives up in the face of adversity. Anele’s tragic passing has affected him in ways we would never understand, and these false presentations of his love story with her are affecting him. He has been finding it difficult to express himself, but in the last week he has been pouring his thoughts and feelings into making music. That has brought about a change. As a family, we have been happy to see that glimmer of normalcy coming back into his life.

“As a father, it saddens me further that in this grief process he’s not able to fully immerse himself in his grief for Anele as he has had to defend himself against damaging public perceptions, derived from over-sensationalisation of his experience in this relationship,” Tony said.

The circumstances around Nelli’s death remain under investigation.

Police spokesperson Col Andrè Traut told the publication on Sunday: Circumstances surrounding the death inquest you are referring to are still under investigation. At this stage, here are no new developments to report.”

Another certain local publication reported that an unnamed source with “intimate knowledge of the relationship” said Nelli had allegedly been abused by the rapper throughout their relationship.

However, AKA slammed all such insinuations in a statement released earlier this week, labelling them as an “attempt to disparage his name and Anele’s character”.

Speaking at her funeral on April 16, Nelli’s father and prominent businessman Moses Tembe rubbished speculation that she was suicidal.

“As Anele’s father, I categorically state Anele was neither suicidal nor did she commit suicide. We must as a matter of priority deal with the scourge that bedevils our youth, alcohol which is overused and drugs. Fellow South Africans we better wake up and smell the coffee. We have a serious problem with substance abuse.

“I cannot allow an unfortunate narrative to go unchallenged, a narrative that irks me to no end that is ‘Anele was chronically suicidal’. All I can say is, until Anele turned 21, not a single member of her family, my family would have associated her with suicide,” he said.

Days leading to mysterious death were toxic. Videos and Whatsapp messages show violence with accusations of drug abuse.

It was billed as one of the most highly anticipated weddings in socialite circles.

A beautiful Durbanite girl from a wealthy family tying the knot with one of South Africa’s premier artists.

But the late Anele Tembe and AKA’S whirlwind romance was nothing as pictures on social media suggested, as claims of drug abuse, violence and physical abuse start to emerge.

The publication has learnt that accusations of drugs and physical abuse characterised the relationship between AKA (real name Kiernan Forbes) and the late Tembe, who died on April 11 after falling off the balcony of a Cape Town hotel.

According to the publication, there was a violent commotion in their hotel room just before Tembe’s alleged suicide, something which has triggered a police investigation.

The police have thus far taken three statements from AKA, who performed at the Nedbank Cup final yesterday in Free State.

Even last Thursday, the police took another statement from AKA after they took the first statement from him on the Sunday of Tembe’s death and the Monday following her death.

In one of the disturbing videos, which has been seen by the publication, the muso is breaking down a door with a terrified Tembe heard pleading with him to calm down. However, AKA would have none of it as he is seen and heard hurling expletives at Tembe.

According to Tembe, what started the fight was her calling out AKA for smelling like fish. She also accused AKA of being high on drugs.

The incident happened in one of their hair-raising domestic violence incidents that occurred at the rapper’s house in Bryanston, Joburg on March 13, a few weeks before their much-vaunted lobola negotiation in Tembe’s home province, Kwazulu-natal. In another video on a separate occasion, Tembe could been seen hurling objects at AKA and vandalising furniture and AKA’S awards, including his SA Music Awards.

In the video AKA, who dated Bonang Matheba and DJ Zinhle, with whom he has a child, could be heard saying Tembe is under the “influence” of drugs.

“I got somebody here under the influence, trying to jump off the balcony,” meanwhile, Tembe is curled on the floor crying.

The relationship, which lasted less than two years until Tembe’s tragic death last month at a Cape Town hotel, was interjected by numerous abuse episodes, with both parties pointing the finger at each other.

The publication has also seen a long Whatsapp message she wrote to AKA’S mother, Lynn Forbes in which she was seeking guidance about the alleged physical abuse.

It is not known whether Lynn responded to Tembe.

AKA had also in early March sent a Whatsapp message to Tembe’s father. In the Whatsapp message Anele’s father pleads with AKA to “stick it out”.

“When [the] dust has settled… find something you could do with her in this business area,” to which AKA replied: “Thank you baba. I will ride the storm out and quietly hope she calms down and engages me properly. I hope she doesn’t’ do any [thing] stupid in the meantime.”

AKA smashed Nelli’s face against the wall, banged her head against the floor and threw her – Big trouble for the rapper

Some media reports have suggested Tembe was suicidal and probably committed suicide, an allegation her father, Moses Tembe refuted at her funeral.

“As Anele’s father, I categorically state that Anele was neither suicidal nor did she commit suicide. “We must as a matter of priority deal with the scourge that bedevils our youth. Alcohol, which is overused, and drugs. Fellow South Africans we better wake up and smell the coffee, we have a serious problem with substance abuse.”

The police, who are investigating an inquest following Tembe’s death, are also investigating these incidents.

A source with intimate knowledge of the relationship, who did not want to be identified for fear of victimization, said Tembe was abused by AKA.

“In my effort to fight GBV, I, today, release a video, taken by Anele, of Kiernan ‘AKA’ attacking her. The video demonstrates the vicious attacks that she was the subject of.

“On this occasion, as recent as 13 March 2021, Kiernan smashed Anele’s face against the wall, banged her head against the floor and threw her against the wall.

Anele reported the incident to me. She then sent me the video of the attack,” said the source.

“Anele Tembe, who was dating and later engaged to Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes, was a victim of severe violence at the hands of AKA.

My beloved friend, a daughter and sister to many was a victim of gender-based violence, an act that has become a scourge in our country.”

The source said Anele had sought protection on many nights whenever AKA, whom she said became extra violent whenever he had allegedly taken drugs, attacked her.

BREAKING: AKA finally reveals what really happened to Nelli Tembe as he faces murder charge

Rapper Kiernan Forbes (AKA) is breathing fire following the death of his fiancee Anele Tembe.

Nelli died on April 11 after apparently falling from the 10th floor of the Pepperclub hotel in Cape Town.

So far there hasn’t been any information released regarding the death of Nelli Tembe.

In a statement by the rapper today 8 May 2021, AKA seems to be contradicting what his father in law said during his daughter’s funeral, stating that Nelli indeed committed suicide and whatever was circulated in the media were “one-sided views that are portrayed out of their full context”

According to AKA’s statement, the seemingly furious rapper said there are people who are pushing for him to be charged with the murder of his fiancée,and spreading false information regarding the death of Tembe in a bid to tarnish his image.

He also revealed that he has been cleared as a suspect and is cooperating with the police as a witness.

The police revealed the incident was still being investigated with “no new developments to report” and “detectives are following up on all leads”.

Witnesses say they heard screaming and a loud doof sound.

While first responders said they found her breathing and naked, se later succumbed to internal injuries.

Soon after her death many claimed Nelli was already suicidal as she did try to kill herself before.

However at her funeral service , Nelli’s father Moses Tembe told mourners he did not believe his daughter was “chronically suicidal”, saying: “I cannot allow an unfortunate narrative to go unchallenged.

“Until Anele turned 21, [she] would not consider taking her own life as the solution. Not a single member of her family, my family, would have associated her with suicide. As Anele’s father, I hereby categorically state that Anele was neither suicidal nor did she commit suicide.

“We must understand the forces that put us in the situation we find ourselves in. We must, as a matter of extreme priority, deal with the scourge that bedevils our youth: alcohol and drugs,” he said.
