ACTRESS Nambitha Ben-Mazwi has penned a love letter to popular streaming service Netflix.
The actress, who bagged a role on Netflix’s film Happiness Ever After, took to social media to thank the platform for taking a chance on her.
“As I was travelling back home today with my girl Khanyi Mbau, she reminded me of my journey at Netflix, how it started and how it has progressed,” she said.
“I’ve had it all sink in. I’ve taken stock of how this global streaming network took a chance on a South African young girl and trusted her on the first US remake of the hit show, Black Mirror, and play an American in it with no dialect training or background whatsoever.
“Then came the birth of @netflixsa and they made sure I was along the ride of their African originals: How To Ruin Christmas: The Wedding; they licensed our legal drama Diamond City which truly showcased more of my craft as a lead; a thriller that’s never been done locally before on Dead Places; and now my first film, a box office hit sequel, Happiness Ever After, as their leading lady.”
The talented actress also thanked God and as well as her agent.
“I am in awe of God’s continued favour and destiny over my life. Thank you to the key players such as my agent @nashodabilly, the production companies, and the cast and crew who have carried me throughout this journey,” she said.

AKA is hosting a special edition of his Super Soft Sunday performance this weekend and has surprisingly roped in the help of his baby mama DJ Zinhle.
The rapper will be performing alongside his Super Soft collaborator Costa Titch and various other artists in the industry at a special Halloween edition at the Huula Beach Club in Germiston on Sunday 31 October.

Zinhle even respectfully distanced herself from speculation relating to the death of AKA’s fiance Nelli Tembe in April this year.
But fans are intrigued – and wary – at their association, albeit professionally.

Mthethwa recently opened up about how she avoided being a victim of a crime. She was in Menlyn Maine in Pretoria when this occurred and cautioned her followers about the place as two guys were lurking. “Guys please be careful ko Menlyn Maine. 2 guys are lurking, looking for the weakest link to mug and they assumed it was me.”

Kabza De Small explained to House Music icon Oskido how Amapiano came about. The legendary Oskido hosts his very own YouTube show called Joy Ride With Oskido and he was accommodated by Kabza on episode 4. The Amapiano King detailed how the sound came about and it will leave you fascinated.
Amapiano has taken over the music industry and is arguably dominating the charts. It’s popularity grew a few years ago but for some people who followed the genre since it’s inception, says Amapiano has been around for quiet some time.
Kabza has been named as one of the pioneers of Amapiano and then later being crowned the King of the genre.
But he explains who really started the genre and how he caught up with the wave and jumped right on it.
“You know how Amapiano started? The township DJs play a song with 125 beats per minute [BPM]. Then you would find other DJ’s play the same beat at 115 BPM,” he explained, adding that they would also often make mixtapes with a slower tempo.
He said other producers then started making music with a slower tempo. “First it was remixes then Mdu came up. I don’t know what happened, I don’t know how he figured out the log drum. Amapiano has always been there but he’s the one who came up with Log drum,” explained Kabza.
“These boys like experimenting, they always check out new plug in’s. So when Mdu figured it out, he ran with it. And when I got it, I jumped on the bandwagon.”
He then added that, “Amapiano music is mainly Log Drum.” Oskido understood him and also explained that Kwaito music also came about the same way where sounds from other genres are used and changed to create a particular sound.

Ntsiki Mazwai strikes again; this time attacks Makhadzi
Controversial poet Ntsiki Mazwai has once again put pen to paper and shared her thoughts on Makhadzi. Makhadzi has been trending her recent days after the ANC regalia outfit went viral. Makhadzi had been invited to meet South African president Cyril Ramaphosa and decided to wear ANC colors. This did not go down well with some of her fans who warned her to stay out of politics. Now Ntsiki Mazwai has decided to add her two cents to the issue.

Actress Andrea Nomasebe Dondolo has been missing in action on our small screens lately.
But the Eastern Cape-born actress, who previously acted in The Queen, has shed some light on her disappearance.
Speaking to Daily Sun, Andrea said she had accepted the calling to become a sangoma.
She said she experienced major problems shortly before she decided to finally embark on the journey.
“I won’t go into details. All I can say is accepting and embracing this gift and journey is not easy. There is so much to deal with as you do not only got through initiation for yourself, but also for the lineage from generation and for generation.”

Cassper Nyovest’s record label in trouble with SARS
Multi-award-winning rapper Cassper Nyovest has hogged the headlines once again and this time around he is not securing the bag in a form of a plump endorsement deal. City Press reports that the rapper’s record label Family Tree is apparently in trouble with the tax man.
With all the major moves happening in his life, his stable is said to be owing the South African Reserve Bank (SARS) a whooping R135 155.19 in income taxes.
According to the paper, SARS has issued a final letter of demand to Family Tree instructing the rapper to settle the outstanding amount within 10 days, if he does not wish to have his company assets seized by Master of the High Court .
This is not the first time Cassper is in trouble with the taxman. In 2020 it was reported that he owed SARS 12.9 million in unpaid income tax. The South Gauteng High Court issued a letter of demand to the Family Tree headquarters ordering him to settle the payment in exactly ten days.
Speaking to Somizi on his reality show Dinner At Somizi’s, Mufasa said SARS had thought that he had purchased a private jet when they were gunning for him. Cassper said he was forced to sell his Rolex because he was broke and he even mention that the taxman went to Samsung, where he is an ambassador of the electronics company.
“The fault is not with SARS problem for me it starts with the education because you go to school and you don’t get taught about tax and you are supposed to and then one day they send you a letter to say “bro you are owing,” he said.
“All I kept thinking was ‘yoh Cassper Nyovest on the front page.” I was just thinking of the day my cars were in a truck.” Casper promised that he will never face this situation again.”
Cassper isn’t the only local celebrity that has had a run in with the taxman. Another well known media personality is all round entertainer, Somizi Mhlongo. Reports were rife when it was revealed that he owed an amount of 2,5 million rands to the South African Revenue Services(SARS). The repo man were sent to Somgaga’s home to seize assets which included, 15 Louis Vuitton bags, a crocodile skin couch, 83 pairs of shades and other expensive assets.
With Cassper publicly flashing his luxurious lifestyle on his Instagram, adding to that, a whopping 10 million rand mansion to his name, surely clearing off this tax matter will be not much of a hassle.
