Cornet Mamabolo bids final farewell to ‘The Wife’

Cornet Mamabolo has bid his final farewell to The Wife.

The star who played the hated villainous Lerumo on The River has finally bid farewell to the show after his short stint came to an end.

Cornet joined the 1Magic’s drama series two months ago, following a break from the limelight. After being on the screen for barely two months, viewers are saddened by his departure.

The reason he took the show was that it was a short stint and he is set to focus on his business endeavors. The actor took to his Instagram account on 13 December 2022, to pen a lengthy post where he said his final goodbyes to the show.

He reveals that he had to fall in love with Lerumo for the audience to genuinely hate the character. “As an actor… in most cases before you get your breakthrough into the industry you just wish for a show or role that can get you out there, but then when you have gotten a handle of it then you start to really want to ACT. The child in you really wants to PLAY & EXPLORE, you pray for characters and stories just to get the child in you ALIVE.

“Lerumo was that role that I knew I had to fall in love with in order for the audience to genuinely hate. It’s one of those roles that if the audience really loves you for it then it simply means you have done a bad JOB as an actor. It’s a role that is exciting for an actor but distasteful for the audience. I’m happy that I had an opportunity to be a child again and play, to bring him to life. I feel so blessed to be trusted with such an amazing yet dark story,” he wrote.

Cornet went on to thank the production team for a fun ride as he made his way out.

“I am more grateful towards the production company, amazing directors that helped me with choices for the role, amazing thespians that have made it so easy for me to understand the world of the show, a special crew with so much humility & post production for covering my sss ? with their final touches on all my scenes. Thanks to you for watching this brief yet impactful story”

According to the posts shared on her Instagram, she has stayed there for over a week clearly telling, she is enjoying the country. Hulisani has been detailing each and everyday experience she’s having out there and her followers love it for her.

On the first day she shared:

“Morocco, Day 1:

Last Saturday, I landed safely in Casablanca to begin my 9-day Moroccan adventure with 12 strangers! ? I chose a group trip because I wanted to travel “solo” but I’m scared to travel alone (blame it on too many episodes of FBI, CSI, NCIS, Criminal Minds etc ?), so traveling with a group of strangers was a great compromise.

EVERYTHING was amazingly organized by @dalani_travel, from visas to itinerary, I just had to pay and show up! ?

After landing in Casablanca, we drove to our first stop, Marrakesh. We stayed in a stunning riad, @leriadnayanour, inside the Medina (meaning Old Town), a truly Moroccan experience! Day 1 was about settling in and getting to know one another over our first delicious Moroccan feast. We were off to a great start! ??”

Fast forward to Day 7 in Morocco, it seems Miss Ravele is not leaving the fun country as yet, she wrote:

“Morocco, Day 7:

A new day, a new city, Fès. A city our guide described as “the spiritual and intellectual capital of Morocco”.

Started the day in another beautiful riad. This place made me understand why the super rich have doors and other architectural marvels flown in from other countries to add to their homes.

We had such a rich, guided tour of the Medina (the old town). It left me with a heightened understanding and respect for the Islam religion and the deep sense of community that Muslims have. One of the ladies even commented that Islam is one of the few religions where the beliefs directly match the actions and the way of life of most of the people. I couldn’t agree more.

Our stop at the leather tannery, a place where animal skins are tanned and made into leather, is a must-do when in Morocco. The smell of the hides is quite something, which is why you’re given mints leaves as you head in, but watching the process is well worth it!

It was a few short hours in Fès and then we were back on the road heading to our next city, Chefchaouen – Morocco’s Blue City. ?”

AKA schools a fan who urged him to stop proving he can rap.

The rapper talked about writing a verse and a tweeped encouraged him to keep pushing as it was rumored that his bars don’t hit anymore.

“You know … “they” … will always have something to say. I have nothing to prove as a rapper … my catalog and the joy I’ve brought to my people speaks for itself ya know?”

Another tweep further supported the rapper’s decision not to prove anything to anyone.

However, the tweep advised that he stops using certain phrase in his songs.

“Just don’t say lekker fish and chips again lol…that was a bit …wooooo haaaa-ish,” reads the tweet.

Kiernan schooled the tweep, saying he has no plans of eluding it from his lyrics.

“My friend … if you don’t know that line it means you don’t know South African music history. If you think hey lekker lekker fish and chips belongs to me, you have a lot of homework to do.”

Kelly Khumalo has taken to her social media to open up about how she feels now.

Since Kelly Khumalo unveiled her baby bump, she’s not taken a break from showing off her state and expressing her feelings.

In her recent video, Kelly says she’s at a place where certain things no longer trigger her.

She wrote: “This morning when I woke up I had this intense feeling of peace and healing and that feeling got me thinking (because you start thinking and questioning a lot of things). I went back to things that used to trigger me, and people who used to trigger me, trying to see if this feeling is authentic and it is. I look at my triggers and I feel nothing. All I have is peace and there’s no urge to react. The urge to want to say something or do something, I don’t have it. I looked for it and could not find it and I’m so happy right now that I’m at a place where what used to get to me, no longer gets to me,” she said.

Somizi will be turning 50 years old next year and tweeps think he should retire from DStv.

However, tweeps are more concerned about youngsters not getting many opportunities in the industry as some of the stars are getting those gigs.

“Next year Somizi is turning 50 years!! DSTV will be still giving him all the gigs and shows while young talented are still waiting for opportunities..”

Sangomas forced to present on Ukhozi FM as DJ Bheka 'Beekay' Mchunu's voice disappears, AGAIN!

UKHOZI FM presenter Bheka “Beekay” Mchunu once again had to take a break from presenting his show, Sigiya Ngengoma, on Saturday 10 December.

This after he lost his voice during the show, forcing the station to play endless adverts.

Traditional healers, Thulani “Professor 3 Seconds” Nkwanyana and Andile “Mzimbokhalimali” Dlamini, ended up presenting the show. They were later joined by Nonhlanhla “Mroza” Buthelezi, who usually presents the Vuka Mzansi breakfast show.

Andile said: “We were invited as special guests but ended up presenting the show. This was because Beekay was not feeling well and by the time we were going to the studio, he was gone.”

Beekay has had health problems since last year. The last incident was in October.

A source said: “On 8 October, he had the same problem. He was about to go on air when he suddenly became ill. At the time, he couldn’t even go live on air. It seemed like he was under a powerful spell.

“I am not sure if he was rushed to hospital or back home, but one of his colleagues drove him out of the SABC studios. We do not want to speculate on his health, but management and his colleagues are worried about him.”

Daily Sun tried to get comment from Beekay, but he didn’t answer his phone or respond to messages.

SABC spokeswoman, Gugu Ntuli, confirmed that Mroza took over Beekay’s show.

Cyril Ramaphosa survives parliamentary impeachment process

President Cyril Ramaphosa may have staved off a parliamentary impeachment process but not without a fallout from within his own party.

As most opposition parties banded together to vote in favour of a Section 89 panel report that found the president may have breached the Constitution, four African National Congress members sided with them.

But it was not enough to sway the vote, in a day of high drama in the Cape Town City Hall.

It’s the first time in 2022 that all Members of Parliament were invited to attend a sitting of the National Assembly.

And it was fitting for arguably the biggest decision they’ve had to make in the country’s democracy and in a tumultuous year for the legislature.

After much unhappiness over an open ballot, when the voting did eventually get underway, it was Co-operative Governance minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma who stunned her party into silence.

“As a disciplined member of the ANC, I vote, yes,” she said.

There was resounding applause from the opposition benches, but their collective votes were not enough to carry the motion to have the president face an inquiry over corruption allegations involving his farm, Phala Phala.

National Assembly Speaker Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula officially adjourned Tuesday’s proceedings.

“Those who have voted yes, 148 and those who have voted no, 214, and abstentions, 2. Therefore, the Section 89 inquiry will therefore not be proceeded with.”

With the impeachment process now dead in the water, opposition parties were already plotting their next moves to force the president to answer their questions.
