Actress Thuli Phongolo allegedly dumps 2Faced, leaving Slenda Da Dancing DJ on ice

Well-known South African DJ and actress Thuli Phongolo is claimed to be in a dumping mood. It is alleged that Thuli M didn’t only dump her boyfriend DJ Maphorisa, but also dumped her group 2Faced, leaving Slenda Da Dancing DJ in limbo.

Sources close to the situation said Thuli M decided to cut ties with the former Afrotainment dancer after she felt she was bringing more energy and followers to the group than Slenda Da Dancing DJ.

“It wasn’t about money but it is about egos, who brings more followers and who pulls the crowd in their gigs. Thuli felt she can do more with her brand, like Uncle Waffles is doing wonders around the globe as a DJ and dancer. As a solo DJ she won’t end up splitting a cut to anyone after gigs,” said the source.

Another source said: “Thuli is so arrogant that she throws her weight on anything that triggers her appearance. She’s going to fail as a solo DJ. On the Durban July weekend they weren’t booked anywhere as 2Faced due to her ego, thinking she’s a superstar. They attended like other guests. TXC [a female DJ group] are doing well. Slenda Da Dancing DJ’s credentials can be traced and she has a musical background. She will survive in the industry as a solo DJ.”

Slenda Da Dancing DJ’s manager Sinomkhosi Ngcobo didn’t confirm the allegations.

“We can’t comment. As far as I know they are working together,” she said.

Efforts to reach Thuli M drew a blank as she was not available to comment.

In the picture shared on Twitter by entertainment blogger Musa Khawula, Thuli Phongolo reportedly splashed way over R84 000 on a Gucci outfit.

She spent R38 314 on the North Face x Gucci padded jacket, R29 412 on a Jackie 1961 min shoulder bag, and R17 028 on GG Canvas jogging pants.

The tweet has since sparked mixed reactions on Twitter. A number of tweeps quickly concluded that she was wearing fake Gucci while some alluded that the outfit was ugly.

Mzansi actress Thuli Phongolo has responded to Big Brother Mzansi inmates after they dragged her on their first episode.

Hosted by Lawrence Malika, season three of Big Brother Mzansi (BBM) made its debut on Monday.

Many were kept glued to their small screens and amongst them was Thuli Phongolo who then found out that she was the subject of conversation among some of the housemates.

Thuli Phongolo fumbled the bag when she decided to leave The Wife although her departure was marred with controversy with people saying she got fired for having diva antics.

She played Lerato, best friend to main star Mahlomu, played by Mbalenhle Mavimbela.

Her departure saw her getting fired from her work as a journalist.

She released a statement where she details what lead to her departure. She first thanked Stained Glass for the opportunity but maintained that it was due to schedule clashes as she has other gigs as well.

“Concerning the allegations that have been made in the media relating to Thuli’s professionalism and work commitment, we vehemently would like to refute them as baseless and devoid of substance.

“It is imperative to note Thuli and the producers of the show reached a mutual agreement to end her role on ’The Wife’ pursuant to them agreeing that the production schedules for continued filming were unsuitable for all parties involved. Her portrayal of Lerato and working with the cast has brought her immense joy and has made an indelible contribution to her growth and career as an actor.”

Thuli spoke highly of The Wife cast, “Happy to be a part of the phenomenon that’s Hlomu: The Wife, enjoying the cast so much! This comes only days after Thuli was axed from hit Showmax series The Wife. According to reports, she failed to show up to work, which would jeopardize the filming of the show. Since she showed that she was not committed, her character would be written out of the show.

Dj Maphorisa was blamed for this, seeing one of the last things she tweeted before the announcement, was that she was critical but stable – a statement many took to be about Phori.
