We are not sure if some of these artists should continue with their depiction of certain celebrities because of this latest artwork, has left people wondering if it is really Makhadzi.

Khaukanani Owen Ndou is a wood carving sculpture in South Africa and according to his Facebook account his been doing this for over 30 years.

He wanted people on social media to share and bring awareness to his latest creation of Makhadzi but the reaction wasn’t all positive.

People compared Owen’s work to that of Rasta and some Tweeps criticised his English.

The artist’s intention may have been good but fans say they have noticed a pattern of people trying to bring Makhadzi down whether it be her looks, what she says or do.

The Miss SA organisation will not boycott Miss Universe in Israel.

Spokeswoman Janine Greenleaf Walker confirmed Miss SA Lalela Mswane will take part in Miss Universe, despite inkosi Mandla Zwelivelile Mandela’s open letter, calling on all Miss Universe participants to boycott the pageant.

Mandla’s argument was that Israel was an apartheid state.

He said: “We call on all countries to boost their efforts to isolate apartheid Israel and cut all ties. be it trade, culture, sport, recreation or diplomatic.

“We call on all African countries to withdraw from the Miss Universe pageant in apartheid Israel in protest at its observer status granted unilaterally by the AU Commissioner. We call on all the Miss Universe participants from all over the world to send us letters announcing their withdrawal and disassociating from an event that normalises the apartheid Israel daily killing, bulldozing of homes and orchards and maiming young and innocent children.”

Other organisations, such as Palestine Solidarity Alliance, have also called upon Miss SA to boycott the pageant. But Walker told Daily Sun Miss SA would attend the event.

“Miss South Africa Organisation is not getting involved in a political war of words and looks forward to watching Miss SA make the country proud on an international stage,” she said.

Miss Universe is set to take place next month.

Mzansi shocked with Busiswa’s age as she turns a year older today

On every birthday we always get a refreshing feeling of hope as we anticipate seeing what the new year has in store for us.

Today Busiswa celebrates her 33rd birthday and we thought it would be nice for us to take you through some of her highlights from the past year.

Mzansi shocked with Busiswa’s age as she turns a year older today

Busiswa continues to captivate a large number of people both locally and globally. Her followers recognize her for her electrifying performances on every stage she graces. Her dedication, enthusiasm, and devotion to providing outstanding music to the public are admirable.

Mzansi shocked with Busiswa’s age as she turns a year older today

She has captivated the hearts of many in Mzansi, particularly with her dance moves, but she did not achieve fame overnight. There was a period in her life when she didn’t believe she would become the celebrity that she is now.

Makhadzi recently appeared on Cassper Nyovest’s The Braai Show and had a blast. The Matorokisi singer talked about her modest origins and how she met her ex-boyfriend Master KG, who turned her life for the better.

Cassper Nyovest had to reference the infamous boxing fight he previously mentioned, claiming that in order to generate cash, SA celebs must go head-to-head with one another. Many people indicated interest in competing in the match, including Makhadzi, who stated that she would not mind sparring with Busiswa Gqulu.

“Busiswa is the first person I think I could genuinely beat up.” “I’d beat her up,” Makhadzi declared.

When Busiswa heard Makhadzi wanted her in the ring, she was left shivering in her boots. She took advantage of the situation to make fun of it, but she did admit that she had never fought before and that she would most likely lose to Makhadzi.

“All I need is for someone to define ‘a friendly’ for the 17 marks below. “Then, for another 13 marks, explain how it relates to a ‘boxing match,” she added.

#UthandoNesthembu: Musa Mseleku in trouble with in-laws

Tensions between Uthando Nesthembu star Musa Mseleku and his wife Mbali Mangwabe-Mseleku have reached new levels.

In the last episode on Thursday, 4 November, Musa accused Mangwabe’s sister of breaking up his family.

According to Musa, Mangwabe was not supposed to know about the mistreatment of the kids.

During the show he confirmed her kids were mistreated by their driver, but he didn’t want her to know about this.

“I’d issued an instruction to Mbali’s sister that she must not tell Mbali about this. But her sister went behind my back and told Mbali. Today we’re in this mess because of her.”

Without mentioning her name, he said: “Mangwabe’s sister is the one causing the problem in my family. She did not only disregard my instruction but wayiphaka impi (she declared war) and right now, we are in it.”

He went on to say the sister was there to do a job.

“I’m the one paying for her. She’s my employee.”

But Mangwabe was having none of it. She insisted she would transport her kids to and from school and take all decisions regarding her kids.

“As long as I’m alive, I’ll decide what happens to my kids. Maybe when I’m dead other people can decide for them,” she told Musa.

“This thing is way too deep. It has caused tensions among everyone. It involves his father in-law and my sister, who was looking after my kids. Unfortunately, I don’t want to get into it. This whole mess was caused by him.”

Mangwabe also told Musa he was the one destroying his own family. “You’re destroying your own house. You have an issue when one wife confides in another wife. As the head of this family, you should be building it and not destroying it,” she told him.

In the last episode, people on social media stood with Mangwabe and commended her for shielding her kids.

Ricardo said: “If they’re expecting Mangwabe to compromise, they should also do the same and by changing the driver, otherwise they must let her be.”

Philani Donald agreed with Mangwabe and said: “I said this last week and I will say this again, Mseleku is the one who causes problems in this sthembu. Uyahlebana lotta shame.”

Hlogi Mathonsi said: “Mangwabe is putting her kids first and there is nothing wrong with that.”

DJ Lamiez Holworthy won’t hide behind filters

DJ Lamiez Holworthy has developed a thick skin against haters.

For some time, she has been a victim of cyber bullying, with haters body shaming her.

But recently, she decided to take her power back.

On her social media platforms she said: “Just under a week ago, I got to not only walk for @maxhosa but I walked as their SHOWSTOPPER. Me? With my big thighs and arms, me among real super models.

“Now here’s why this is a big deal. I gained quite a bit of weight after my husband and I experienced something really traumatic few months ago. Not only did I have to deal with our loss, but I had to deal with the constant body shaming I am subjected to daily – simply because I refuse to hide behind filters and sell people dreams.

“I’ve always stood my ground, always tried to be a beacon of hope for all those who draw inspiration from me BUT I am human before it all. These things get pretty draining.

“THIS MOMENT? This moment belonged to every woman told they’re not enough, every woman put under pressure because of society’s unrealistic standards.”

“In this moment, I TOOK BACK MY POWER!!! Big thighs and all,” she said.

The post saw many of her industry friends and followers applauding her decision.

Maxhosa also thanked her for modelling for them.

He wrote: “Honoured to have you walk for us. You did that.”

While smitten husband Khuli Chana said: “I’m very proud of you. O Lepara.”

Amanda Dambuza said: “I love you as you are. You are loved. Those shaming you have serious issues, nothing to do with you. Keep your head up high. We adore you for who you are and what you stand for. Wear your hot pants lovie. Lots of love and hugs to your family.”

Star DJ Black Coffee was this weekend in Nairobi, Kenya, where he was shown a lot of love. The concert, which was held at Ngong Race Course in Nairobi, was the ultimate proof of two things: Black Coffee is an international legend, and Kenyans know how to party!

Right from the onset, the energy was insane. The event was set to begin at 1:00 pm, with many opening acts before Black Coffee’s set at 9:00pm. Concert-goers started arriving as early as 12:30pm, contrary to everything you’ve heard about “African timing”.

Tickets sold for Ksh 5000 which is about R674, and while it is a lot of money in Kenya, you couldn’t tell from how packed the audience was. In fact, speaking to ZAlebs, event organizers informed us that VIP tickets, retailing for R1348, sold out a week in advance, and there were only a handful of gate tickets on the day.
A big shout out to the event’s sponsors, Hennessy Kenya, who ensured a big and classy event. Food was in plenty and drinks flowed endlessly, and the crowd was having a marvellous time.

The event celebrated Afro House as a booming genre across the country and continent, and eight local Kenyan DJs opened for DJ Black Coffee, each better than the last.
In order of performance, the opening acts were: Xan Woods, MGM Kenya, Chucky, Jahawi Bertolli, Foozak, Vidza, Suraj and Saint Evo. There were three more performances after Black Coffee’s set, by Kenya’s Blinky Bill, Kaneda and Onedown. Have a look at the pictures of these celebrity DJs rocking the audience.

Black Coffee finally took the stage at 9:00pm, and his energy was contagious and through the roof. Although it was a Sunday and most of the attendees had work in the morning, nothing was going to stop them from seeing their fave live in concert. “I just love Black Coffee so much”, one fan told ZAlebs when asked about staying out late on a Sunday night. Well, with the energy he brought to the stage, we certainly see why!

Ayanda Borotho talks about her journey to self-love

Television actress and author Ayanda Borotho has shared her pearls of wisdom and her learned valuable experiences through her journey to self-love. In her personal memoir titled Unbecoming To Become, she delves deep into her journey back to self. The actress took to her Instagram to share her insights.

“I’m learning one of the biggest and heaviest loads we carry is the burden of ‘owing’ people and the ‘expectation’ to pay back for what was or is being done towards us or for us. And vice versa. We have expectations of people too because of what we have done for them.

Ayanda Borotho talks about her journey to self-love

We live in such a transactional world that it’s rare to come across people who are simply genuine (though they do exist). We owe parents for not abandoning us. We owe friends for being in our corner.”

“We owe husbands for not cheating on us and being good fathers. We owe employers for giving us and keeping us in the job. We owe those who have opened doors of opportunity for us. What a huge debt it must be to carry.”

Ayanda explained that the narrative should be that the people who are doing all these things are playing their chosen roles.

Ayanda Borotho talks about her journey to self-love

When the real narrative should be parents have an obligation to raise us to the best of their ability. They chose to have us. True friends are always in your corner. Loyalty is not for sale. Husbands are meant to love us and our children. Being a good husband or father is not doing your wife and children a favour. It is his responsibility (and blessing). Ayanda said no-one owes anyone a favour, and life would be easier if we didn’t live indebted to anyone.

Ayanda Borotho talks about her journey to self-love

“When I’m working, I contribute meaningfully to the team. I get paid for the service I render, which the organisation needs. Ho-one is doing anyone any favours. Those who open doors are in positions of service by virtue of having the authority or anointing to hold the key. Authority is a blessing and a gift.

“It should serve and not take. The world would be so much better if we learned to rid ourselves of expectations for doing what we should be doing in the first place, and it would even be better if we didn’t live feeling indebted to the world. I am grateful not to be indebted. I serve with gratitude and not expectation. There’s a difference.

Heartbreaking Scenes: Father and his twin sons buried

The Velengceni twin brothers from Covid squatter camp in Cape Town have been buried, along with their father. Aphiwe and his twin brother Aviwe (both aged 7) died on Friday, 8 October along with their dad Lindile Zothe.

They died after trying to save Lindile (47) from a shack fire earlier that day. The publication published their story, headlined: “Twins died saving dad.”

On Thursday, 4 November, their three coffins were taken to the place where they died before travelling to the Eastern Cape for their burial.

Family member Siyabulela Botya (45) said they were still struggling to accept their deaths.

“We are all not coping, especially their mother. She still doesn’t eat and she’s always crying.”

Siyabulela said it was important to first take the bodies where the incident happened, so they didn’t bother them on their way to the Eastern Cape.

They were buried on Saturday, Saturday 6 November at Kubengu Village in Lady Frere, Eastern Cape.

“On the day of the incident, their mother woke up and took them and another child outside, they then heard their father screaming for help and they went back inside,” said Siyabulela.

He believes the reason their mother was struggling to accept the deaths was after she had already saved them, because they heard their father, they went back inside.

“They loved their father and this was showed by their actions. We are hoping that one day we will find closure. But for now it’s too much.”

Siyabulela thanked everyone who assisted them.

“It was not easy to bury three people at once, but we are grateful to everyone who assisted us. They are too many of them. I cannot mention all their names,” said Siyabulela.

Neighbour Siyabonga Mdambatya (54) said the death of the twins and their father has left everyone hurt.

“It’s not only the family that are feeling hurt, but the deaths of the twins and their father hurts so deep.”

He said the twins were lovely kids who loved their father and everyone. “I think they were just like their father. He loved everyone and was always joking.”

Dawn Thandeka-King on accepting her spiritual calling

Actress Dawn Thandeka-King is not only encouraging people to take care of their mental wellness, but is also encouraging people to heal spiritually.

The Diepcity star took to Instagram, where she said spiritual healing leads to physical healing.

She shared her photos flanked by a man and women whom she called her spiritual children.

They were all wearing long white dresses and knitted ropes, standing next to a river.

The former Uzalo actress said getting to know your roots and healing spiritually could go a long way in one’s life.

“If you’re not healed spiritually you don’t get peace. You are always troubled and you feel your plans are not going according to your wishes. Spiritual healing is very important,” said Dawn.

She said she was called to be a spiritual mother and it was very challenging.

“They are people who depend on you to help them with the spiritual healing. I call them spiritual children. These people trust you and they were brought to you by their ancestors. As a mother, you mustn’t show weakness, you must be spiritually fit and clean in order to help them through the journey.”

In previous years, the actress confirmed she was a sangoma who healed people with motivation.

She has been posting videos raising awareness of mental illness.
