Gugu Gumede is BACK on Uzalo after Maternity Leave

Beautiful and talented actress Gugu Gumede is back from maternity leave. She took a break from Uzalo in January after announcing that she was pregnant and in February, she gave birth to a baby girl.

Gugu Gumede will be back on the screen on Thursday. Playing the character of MaMlambo, she will use her prophetic gift to help Njinji (Thembi Nyandeni) heal from injuries she suffered when she was beaten up by Mthambisi (Buyile Mdladla).

Uzalo spokeswoman Nomfundo Zondi confirmed that Gugu was coming back. “Gugu is a talented actress. After her maternity break, viewers will see her character coming back to their favourite show and continue practising her gift

KaMagwaza Msibi, who died after a long illness. In her Instagram post at the time, she said her then-unborn baby was her and her mother’s answered prayer. And, she has shared that she’s excited to be back on Uzalo.

“I’ve missed viewers. No one wouldn’t be excited to act on the number-one watched show. I’m certain viewers will be happy to see me again. Coming back is more than exciting,” said Gugu. Welcome Back!

Gugu Gumede has officially return to Uzalo.

The actress who has been with the show since its inception took a break during pregnancy and postpartum.

In February, Gugu gave birth to a bouncing baby girl and she has been enjoying motherhood.

Well, she is set to make her comeback in mid-October.

However, Gugu has not officially confirmed the news but many of her fans are excited.

“Thank you all for the congratulatory messages on lil mama’s arrival, we are over the moon. It’s been a month filled with so much love, but also lots of work. Mamas, you know what I’m talking about. Taking care of a newborn is work honey – but nothing makes life easier than being prepared, and thankfully, I was,” the actress wrote in announcing the birth of her baby girl.

South African actress Gugu Gumede is set to return to Uzalo soon. The actress who plays Mamlabo took a break a couple of months ago after news emerged that she was pregnant. In February, Gugu gave birth to a bouncing baby girl and she has been enjoying motherhood.

The actress has been with the Uzalo since its inception and her character continues to win the hearts of many people. According to reports, Gugu will make a comeback in Mid October.

Gugu previously shared that her baby is her late mother’s answered prayer.

She said her baby kept her going during the difficult time of her mom’s passing. “I have often been asked where I got the strength to continue after my mother’s passing – I got it from my unborn child.

“At her funeral, as I stood at the podium and spoke on my queen’s behalf, I was not alone. The strongest heart was beating inside of me, reviving me. I am alive today because of it.”

Just a few days before her baby girl was born, Gugu celebrated her mother’s 60th birthday. She shared that her mom worked hard to give them a better life.

She continued, “Mommy, happy 60th birthday! We had planned to do it big, but God had other plans. However, no tears today – just a celebration of a great life. I know @officialrastatheartist would have brought you great laughter with these,”

“My mother was a giant. A king. She came from nothing and had the task of breaking many generational curses; blessing many family members in between. She was a dedicated public servant; a pioneer and activist who changed many people’s lives.” she wrote captioning her mother’s portrait made by Rasta.

Gugu also previously shared that she is planning to walk in her mother’s footsteps and she will be serving as the National Freedom Party (NFP) member.

Speaking at the party’s manifesto launch in October last year, Gugu said her mother led the party without a single corruption mark against her. She added, “We are going to vote and we will vote for the NFP. We will get everything that belongs to us. For five years, the Zululand District Municipality has failed to deliver basic services…Our time has come to take over where we left when we lost power…If you need me, I am available and I can go anywhere you need me. We can’t let Njinji’s legacy die,” Gugu said as quoted by Daily Sun.

Taking to Instagram, the star shared a photo of herself with her baby girl. Gugu said she is celebrating four months since she gave birth to her baby girl. I was made to love you,” Gugu wrote.

Letting her baby’s aunties and uncles know that she feels time is flying, the actress added: Aunties and uncles, our little one is now 4 months old! Very soon, we will be marrying her off.

Actress Gugu Gumede welcomes her baby girl

South African actress, Gugu Gumede, has welcomed her baby girl.

Taking to her Instagram page, Gugu Gumede, shared a video announcing the arrival of her newborn. According to her, she welcomed her baby on February 23, 2022.

Gugu Gumede wrote:

“23.02.22? Exactly a month ago, my life became the greatest testimony. My daughter, may the heavens pave a way for your greatness, and may they always go to war on your behalf. You are so dearly loved! Come to me correct y’all, I’m someone’s mother.”

Gugu Gumede remembers late mother on her birthday

Uzalo star Gugu Gumede recently took to Instagram to celebrate her mother’s 60th birthday. The actress shared a portrait of her mother made by Rasta. Gugu’s mother Zanele kaMagwaza Msibi, who was also a leader of the National Freedom Party, passed away last year in September reportedly due to cardiac arrest linked to COVID-19. Taking to Instagram this week, the actress shared that she had a lot of plans with her mother.

She wrote, “Mommy, happy 60th birthday! We had planned to do it big, but God had other plans. However, no tears today – just a celeb. A few days after her mother’s passing, Gugu penned a lengthy message on Instagram. She shared that she was struggling to come to terms with her mother’s death. There is never a point in life where one wishes to walk the path that I am on; but such is life – we are born, we fulfill our assignment to the best of our abilities, and we depart.” She wrote.

The TV star said that her mother was a hard worker who came from nothing and made something out of her life. She added that she touched many people’s lives.+Gugu said her mother led the party without a single corruption mark against her. She added, “Seeing you here really brings me so much joy and a lot of emotions because I believe my mother left very early without seeing us getting back what we lost when we were intentionally disqualified from the 2016 elections,” she said as quoted by Daily Sun.

According to the publication, she also promised that NFP was going to bring change in the Zululand District Municipality.

“We are going to vote and we will vote for the NFP. We will get everything that belongs to us. For five years, the Zululand District Municipality has failed to deliver basic services…Our time has come to take over where we left when we lost power…If you need me, I am available and I can go anywhere you need me. Gugu Gumede (Mamlambo) allegedly leaves Uzalo for politics

Gugu Gumede, Mamlambo on Uzalo is leaving the SABC soapie and it’s alleged she is to venture into politics to keep her mother, late Zanele kaMagwaza-Msibi’s dream in politics alive.

Mamlambo is rarely mentioned in Uzalo November teasers, which points out her imminent departure. It’s unknown, however, if the exit is temporary or permanent.

The kidnapping of baby Smangaliso set the stage for Mamlambo’s downfall as it will land the prophetess behind bars.

Behind the bust will be the popular gossip crew of Madongwe and Gladys ‘Ma Madlala’ who will unearth her secret.

Despite efforts to conceal the truth, the gossip brigade goes to MaMlambo’s house prepared to play the detective roles and overstay their welcome. Madongwe dialed Mamlambo’s phone number to prove if she really had a crying baby ringing tone. The mystery babe will prompt the two to report the matter to the police.

It’s well documented and spoiled that MaMlambo, together with Hlelo, will end up behind bars. MaMlambo gets horrified to learn that ‘her good heart’ of picking up an abandoned baby and then keep it, will land her a good 15 years in jail.

The eventual arrest of MaMlambo sparked rumours for her immediate show exit.

When her daughter, Zekhethelo Mhlongo, played by Nyalleng Thibedi exited the show, Mamlambo’s storyline had to be reinvented further explaining the departure.

Thibedi left Uzalo to focus on her make-up business and engineering career.

Ever since MaNgcobo’s exit on Uzalo, Nkunzi was tipped to rekindle his love with MaMlambo. Chances of MaMlambo – Nkunzi reunion is buried in the rubble as he is already under Gabisile’s love charm.

Gugu Gumede is rumoured to have dumped Uzalo and join politics to follow her mother’s dream. Gugu is set to follow her mother Zanele kaMagwaza-Msibi’s footsteps, the late Inkatha Freedom Party Member of Parliament and Deputy Minister of Science and Technology.

Gumede’s Uzalo departure is also motivated by the rise of her interior décor company Ngunikazi Interiors as she has been quoted saying it has become hectic to manage her on-screen life and the business.
