DJ Lamiez gushes over her daughter

DJ Lamiez and her daughter share a bond that’s so beautiful she literally is her world. Lamiez expressed on social media how she recently went through a draining experience but she could not wait to get home and dance with her 8-year-old daughter.

Nia is from hubby Khuli Chana’s previous relationship and Lamiez adores her like her own. “Between TV ,radio and club gigs, I still have to make time for my little girl. And on Sunday, in between multiple gigs, something pretty upsetting happened and the only person that could make me feel better was this little girl- My Dr. Princess aka Broke Bestie. I legit went home to see and dance with her which cheered me up,” she said.

A few months ago, they enjoyed a mother-daughter type of situation at her school and Nia dishes on her family. It was pretty cute, “Sometimes it be your own kids that expose you! Attended a child led parents meeting at my daughter’s school and I need you to swipe left to watch how special she is. Turns out they have something called “holiday news” and in the one she blatantly says how my mom (her grandma) @imeldak20 took her out, played at the arcade then left her at a crèche so that she could gamble.”

Lamiez told TshisaLive that she cannot say that she is ready to be a mom because she already is one, “I could never say I’m ready to be a mom because I am a mom already. I am raising an 8-year-old from my husband’s previous relationship. She is my daughter and that for me has been the biggest blessing in my life to date,” she said.

Meanwhile, her husband Khuli says he cannot wait to fill her belly up with baby. In an interview with S Mag Khuli said, “I love that she treats me like him her doll, always dressing me up. I also love how we both enjoy listening to music but more importantly how at ease I am with her. I really can’t wait to give her a baby and extend our family,” Chana said.

Lamiez on the other hand, reminisced about the time they got engaged and how the proposal never happened due to Khuli losing his ring. “He was supposed to propose at the beachfront but he lost my ring. I could see he was very nervous but he kept on insisting that we take a walk to the beach. He had champagne, the works.

“He looked super stressed but I got frustrated because it started raining and I didn’t understand why we were there because he wasn’t saying anything. Little did I know that he was looking for the ring he hid and misplaced,” Lamiez narrated.

Lamiez often gets trolled about not giving Khuli kids. “That’s not OK you can’t have everything you want in life and fail to give Khuli a child, issa no no. Don’t you want a child or Khuli doesn’t want a child or is it because you guys can’t make a child?”

Lamiez clapped back and said, “You’re a joke. The point that I just made flew right over your head neh?! Imagine a whole adult like yourself so invested in MY life. Tell me how any of this is your business also? O stlaela wena, jy’s Dom! Houtkop nje. shame man.”

Lamiez constantly gets trolled on Twitter and Facebook but sis always puts on a brave face. She is all about body positivity and she said she represents what every other woman is about. “I have been on LiveAMP for so long because I am different, because I am the change that the world so desperately needed, that SA desperately needed. Little girls need to see a woman who look like them, other women need to see women that are real, women with stretch marks, women with cellulite, women with big thighs and they needed to know that it was OK.”

Lamiez also recently strut the runway for Maxhosa as their showstopper and she said that moment for her was life changing, “I gained quite a bit of weight after my husband and I experienced something really traumatic just a few months ago.

“Not only did I have to deal with our loss but I had to deal with the constant body shaming I am subjected to daily-simply because I refuse to hide behind filters and sell people dreams,” she mentioned.

“I’ve always stood my ground, always tried to be a beacon of hope for all those who draw inspiration from me BUT I am human before it all. These things get pretty draining.”

DJ Lamiez Holworthy has developed a thick skin against haters.

For some time, she has been a victim of cyber bullying, with haters body shaming her.

But recently, she decided to take her power back.

On her social media platforms she said: “Just under a week ago, I got to not only walk for @maxhosa but I walked as their SHOWSTOPPER. Me? With my big thighs and arms, me among real super models.

“Now here’s why this is a big deal. I gained quite a bit of weight after my husband and I experienced something really traumatic few months ago. Not only did I have to deal with our loss, but I had to deal with the constant body shaming I am subjected to daily – simply because I refuse to hide behind filters and sell people dreams.

“I’ve always stood my ground, always tried to be a beacon of hope for all those who draw inspiration from me BUT I am human before it all. These things get pretty draining.

“THIS MOMENT? This moment belonged to every woman told they’re not enough, every woman put under pressure because of society’s unrealistic standards.”

“In this moment, I TOOK BACK MY POWER!!! Big thighs and all,” she said.

The post saw many of her industry friends and followers applauding her decision.

Maxhosa also thanked her for modelling for them.

DJ Lamiez Holworthy’s has been applauded by her fans for turning down political gigs. Lamiez revealed she turned multiple gigs organised by various political parties. On Monday, she wrote: “Turned down multiple gigs too. Wasn’t the easiest thing to do but it felt right.”

Her followers started applauding her for the decision.

“Thanks for not selling your soul,” wrote Jomo Nhlapho.

“Your conscience led u right. Profits gained through political gigs have got negative impact sometimes. Big ups, gal,” Zekman wrote.

But not everyone agreed with her as some of her followers felt this was not a wise decision.

Lamiez Holworthy keeps getting her much deserved flowers on social media and this time it is for her kind heart. The DJ always finds it in her to extend a helping hand to people, especially women who need it. Like many other celebrities, who reveal how they spend their monies, always get criticised, Lamiez found herself getting trolled for offering to help a woman with a botched tattoo.

It all started when this woman posted her version of “what I wanted, vs what I got” and showed a picture of a tattoo she wanted, but got a very ugly one. Lamiez being a tattoo fanatic offered to pay for cover up tattoo from her tattoo artist. Amazing right? well one troll does not seem to think so. He told Lamiez that is wasting money on unnecessary things instead of worrying about her orphanage.

He advised Lamiez that she might need the money in future and should not waste it on getting people tattoos. Lamiez hit back and asked why is he so concerned as he has no business.

The troll had to give a very disrespectful response and said if it is on social media, it is his business. “This is Twitter, anything that ends up on my TL is my business. You’re wasting money on nonsense. Next thing you’ll be crying and begging for money for your orphanage. Be wise with your money.”

Lamiez Holworthy has made herself and her mother proud as she bags an award at the South African Heroines awards. Taking to Instagram, the star shared the news expressing her excitement.

Few days ago, Lamiez made it clear that she is working hard for her mother. Well, it looks like her hard work is yielding good fruit as she has added another award. She went on to thank her foundation for trusting her with their lives and pushing her to fight even harder.

Lamiez Holworthy dedicates a post shared on social media to her mother, and speaks of how she’s working hard because of her.

The DJ shared series of photos taken with her mom and said she’s grateful for her mother’s life as she had nothing except her mother when she was younger.

“When you come from nothing,you work even harder to make sure you never go back there. And whilst I didn’t have much growing up,I had my mother. I still do-a woman who sacrificed it all for my siblings and I. And till this day,my mom manages me and is the brains behind my brand. I owe all that I am to this woman and work ten times as hard as I do because of her,” the DJ said.

Mac G has once again managed to stir some trouble on the timeline when he revealed more on his relationship with DJ Lamiez Holworthy. The podcast guru left a bad taste on people’s mouths when he revealed the real reason he and Lamiez never worked out.

On a previous episode of Podcast and Chill, the non-celebrity edition, Sol Phenduka and MacG joked about his relationship with ex-girlfriend Lamiez Holworthy. Their relationship was revealed to the public last year, but many people on social media still did not know they ever existed as a couple.

When a clip of Sol teasing Mac G on his relationship with Lamiez, which only lasted for a split second, went viral, many were shocked to find out they were an item. In the clip Sol laughed at MacG saying he can’t really call Lamiez an ex if they never slept together.

Sol was complimenting Lamiez saying she is a person who stays out of trouble and is generally a sweet person. “She is such a sweet perosn who never harms anyone,” he said before proceeding to ask MacG if he ever wanted to date her.

“You didn’t smash so it doesn’t count,” he laughed. “All of us have had those relationships, where one week [you date] and then the girl is like ‘I’m going through things, I shouldn’t have said yes’,” he said.

Then MacG revealed why he had to dump Lamiez, saying she was getting too serious as she wanted to introduce him to her parents. “She wanted to introduce me to her parents and sh*t, then I said nah I’m gone,” he revealed.

He said he felt very bad for leaving her because he could see that she was very much in love with him. He also was about to reveal more on their relationship, but Sol interrupted him.

Lamiez and Khuli Chana are couple goals. They are indeed unproblematic and they know how to treat each other right. Lamiez had a terrible experience at the hospital before jetting off to the Maldives.

“Today was probably one of the most emotionally draining days that I’ve ever had to endure and having health workers so numb and so insensitive to whatever I was going through by asking for a picture at a hospital even made it worse. What happened to empathy? To reading the f****n room?”

Lamiez reckons that celebrities are also people just like everybody else, “We get sick, get hurt go through hell and don’t need or deserve to be treated like objects,” she stated.

“I’m actually upset. I couldn’t even go through my emotions like any normal person could. Instead I am being followed form one department to the next for a fuc**ng picture? By multiple people? At a hospital guys. A hospital where people are fighting for their lives and some die and lose their loved ones daily. You want a picture? Of someone clearly not okay?” she questioned.

“I am a people’s person and I genuinely appreciate those who show me love. I am however only human. I am human before anything else and it would be nice to treated with common courtesy and respect especially in such tough times. Am I supposed to wipe my tears and smile for your picture? Like screw what I’m going through right?” an emotional Lamiez wrote.

She ended her IG Stories with a bit of sarcasm. “guess that’s it – wipe your tears and get over whatever you’re going through because people want pictures right? My whole worl must stop because fans want pictures right? At a hospital? Ok I get it. I’m not human, I must get the hell over what’s upsetting me and pose right? Okay, Noted!”
