Days later her roommate, who was friends with DJ Euphonik at that time, invited her to the popular muso’s after-party at a local BNB, whose name was not disclosed.

“Her friend assured her that they would be safe. They got a cab and they both went to the BNB [sic],” reads the victim’s statement.

When they arrived they found DJ Fresh, who is married to fellow radio personality Thabiso Sikwane, chilling with two other belles.

She started imbibing ciders while listening to music and chit-chatting with her friends. “She had her usually drink, Hunters Dry [sic]. There was music and had small talks,” according to the statement.

The statement shows that although the woman did not remember what happened afterwards, she apparently passed out and her body was sore when she woke up in the wee hours of the following day.

“She could feel that she was penetrated, however, there was no blood,” according to the woman’s statement.

She woke up the other two girls but before they could discuss her ordeal, the duo (DJS) started laughing and joking about how they were “blacking out one after the other and that they had to take them to bed”.

When she announced her ordeal on social media, the woman claimed that she had been a virgin when she was allegedly violated and as a result, she lost her innocence on that fateful night.

She also alleged that the two music producers or one of them drugged her before raping her. She further said she had to take anxiety medication before going public about the alleged incident.

Our attempts to solicit comments from the woman drew a blank as she ignored questions we sent to her on Thursday.

Gauteng police spokesperson Mavela Masondo confirmed a woman opened a case of rape against the DJS, adding that a police investigation was under way. “No arrest has been made,” he said.

Following the allegation, DJ Fresh and DJ Euphonik, who were pulled from air by Primedia, issued a joint statement announcing they would stay away from all their public responsibilities until the matter has been put to bed.

Denying the allegations, DJ Fresh reiterated that he does not know the woman at all and accused her of lying. Big trouble for DJ Fresh and DJ Euphonik as woman they allegedly raped runs to the police

Gauteng police have confirmed that a formal case of rape has been opened against two well-known radio personalities.

Earlier this week, a woman took to Twitter, accusing DJ Fresh and Euphonik of drugging and raping her in 2011.

Police authorities confirmed to a local publication that the woman who levelled allegations of rape against the two men had opened a case of rape at Sunnyside police station on 13 January.

Both DJ Fresh and Euphonik are employed by music radio station 947, owned by Eyewitness News’ parent company Primedia Broadcasting.

In a statement released earlier, acting Primedia Broadcasting CEO Geraint Crwys-Williams said 947 and Primedia Broadcasting were evaluating all the information of the alleged misconduct.

“We take these matters extremely seriously and apply a rigorous, systematic internal process to assess them. We are awaiting substantiation of the current information from the relevant authorities. Once we have this, we will respond accordingly.”
Last year another woman, Ntsiki Mazwai, posted allegations on social media claiming DJ Fresh had raped her.

DJ Fresh, whose real name is Thato Sikwane, successfully pursued an injunction in court, that forced her to remove all the social media posts referring to the allegations.

In its judgment, the court found Mazwai didn’t have enough evidence to back her claims, instructed her to remove her posts, and refrain from making further derogatory statements about Sikwane.

I was completed (completely) drugged I don’t whether you BOTH raped me or 1 of you did & you later laughed about it the next morning saying we (me & 3 girls) were so drunk we kept blacking out but nasidlwengula (you raped us).

The woman said she was a virgin at the time of the s_exual assault and that she had to take anxiety medication before she could speak about the incident on social media.

Shortly after the tweet made waves, Fresh issued an official statement denying the allegations.

He said: “I am aware that assertions have been made about me on social media and I understand that this is often the price of being in the public eye. The fact that these claims are untrue and from an unknown source, does not make them less hurtful.

“Furthermore, I am deeply concerned that spurious allegations about GBV ,especially as it is one of the most significant societal challenges in South Africa, undermine the gravity of legitimate incidents, and impact the urgency with which they are attended.”

DJ Fresh, real name Thato Sikwane, has denied the allegations of rape levelled against him on social media.

This comes after a mystery woman, who goes by the name @Nampree, had publicly accused DJ Fresh and his bestie, Euphonik, of allegedly drugging and raping her and three other women.

In a series of tweets that went viral, the mystery woman said she wanted DJ Fresh and Euphonik to acknowledge the alleged rape.

The woman said she was a v!rgin at the time of the s_exual assault and she had to take anxiety medication in order to come out and speak about the incident on social media.

DJ Fresh, a 947 radio presenter, said he was well aware of the allegations levelled against him.

“I am aware that assertions have been made about me on social media and I understand that this is often the price of being in the public eye. The fact that these claims are untrue and from an unknown source, does not make them less hurtful,” said Fresh.

“Furthermore, I am deeply concerned that spurious allegations about GBV ,especially as it is one of the most significant societal challenges in South Africa, undermine the gravity of legitimate incidents, and impact the urgency with which they are attended. Each time someone succumbs to the temptation of using GBV to further personal agendas, the cause to eradicate this scourge takes a step backwards.

“Please, should you have a substantiated concern or be the victim of a genuine case of GBV, I urge you to immediately go to your local police station and lay a charge.

“Pursuing the matter through a legal and criminal process is the best way to ensure that you get the protection you need.”

When asked for comment, 947 and Primedia Broadcasting said: “We are concerned to learn of the social media allegations against DJ Fresh and Euphonik but, to date, we have received no formal notification of substantiation from the relevant authorities.

“We encourage all victims of GBV to report the matter to the relevant authorities in order to initiate a legitimate process that can be addressed formally by all stakeholders involved.”

The company said it would monitor the matter and respond accordingly.
