DJ Shimza’s Kunye festival Get Criticised

DJ Shimza’s Kunye festival Get Criticised

Shimza’s Kunye festival has been deemed a flop by an attendee who said the liquor prices are absurd and the service was dismal. Shimza had to chime in and defend himself but it did not end very well.

A woman by the name of Furaha B Tungande exposed Kunye for their exorbitant price list. She said everything was bad from the way in which people were seated saying the seats were limited, to running out of ice and having to drink hot drinks, and the fact that they had to buy a cup to drink on for R15.

“Should have gone to Konka instead of Kunye yesterday, do these prices even make logical sense?! Then there wasn’t sufficient seating, they should have told us to bring camp chairs because we’re at Innes free cup 2010. It was either you sat on the grass or you stood. What a mess.

“The normal Henny was R2000. That’s when I knew that I was in hell. There’s no way! Not even an Ice Tropez for the babies. Imagine we had to bite the bullet & just buy a bottle of something that would make sense. Hayi no ways, after paying R450 for a ticket even?” she said.

She then said Kunye was a joke, “THEN THE CHAMPAGNE WAS HOT. The water was HOT. They ran out of ice. Cheses yesterday was a Mazza. A joke my dhaling. I’m done ranting. Just sharing so people can make an informed decision. Personally I’m okay. We had to make the most of the situation, what were we gona do?

“Buy a bottle for R2000 then you must still buy a cup for R15 then the bar tender still wants to ask if you’re tipping?! My brother please, with what money that is left?!”

Shimza apologised to the woman instead of being rude and said there was a fault on their end and said things will get better next time.

Some people were not buying it though and said Shimza should know better as it was not his first event.

“That is not nearly good enough, this is not your 1st gig. Background stuff or not, your poor organization skills with inflated pricing can not be condoned.” But Shimza remained as polite as possible, “Ma brother, this is an outdoor event with expenses from the smallest things as toilets that you have to bring in, a business mind has to consider all those costs, you can’t expect to buy at Tops prices at an event, that one is not possible.”

The no ice at a summer event is what put people off and responding to a tweep who had a lot to say, Shimza said their suppliers let them down, “Problem is that now you want me to now tell you how our suppliers let us down and how we had to run around, bro we don’t just wake up and say we want the worst experience for our people, we had problems and disappointments which were not expected from our end, I’ve apologised.”

In a separate tweet, Shimza clarified how difficult it is to run events outdoors, compared to indoors, “Outdoor events will never have the same expenses as normal day to day venues because of the expense of setting them up. Events are a business to us not just fun.”

Joyous Celebration’s national day of prayer a success

Joyous Celebration’s national day of prayer a success

Mzansi’s premier gospel ensemble, MTN Joyous Celebration, prayed for peaceful local government elections and a safe festive season on Sunday, 31 October.

The national prayer day called MTN Joyous Celebration Super Sunday was held at Olive Convention Centre in Durban

The prayer show, in which they performed their hit worship songs, was led by Durban’s Apostle Collins Dhlomo and Apostle Victor Mahlaba.

MTN general manager in brand and communication, Nomsa Mazibuko announced the group was looking for a new member and the digital auditions were now open.

“Those who want to do the MTN Joyous Celebration audition need to download the Ayoba app on their phones and subscribe to the MTN Joyous Celebration channel.

“They must record themselves singing one of their exclusive songs and submit the entry,” she said.

The group’s co-founder, Jabu Hlongwane said the people of Mzansi needed the name of Jesus and God to pray and save the nation.

“We are praying that those who will be elected during the local government elections shall be led by godliness. We are sitting in a place that is not nice for the future of our children. So we are bringing all to our father to take control,” he said.

Co-founder Mthunzi Numba said: “We as believers don’t have to worry because the one we serve is above all. He knows what is coming tomorrow. All we are going to do is pray and make him know whatever we need. We have to call Jesus’ name, because if we mention His name, demons of chaos and demons of death will go away.”

Apostle Mahlaba said when believers prayed, they authorise heaven’s intervention and if they didn’t pray, even if heaven was willing to intervene on their behalf, it would not because God has protocol.

“Prayer is a powerful weapon,” he said.

Joyous Celebration fan Nomthandazo Zungu told Daily Sun she was healed by attending the prayer day and worshipping with her favourite choir.

“Joyous Celebration is the only centre I use to heal myself and pray to my God because we worship together. They don’t judge me, remind me about my sins or scare me about how the axe will be used on me during judgement day as many pastors do.

“It was difficult as we were unable to join them and worship together because of Covid-19 regulations,” she said.

DJ Lamiez Holworthy praised for turning down political gigs

DJ Lamiez Holworthy’s has been applauded by her fans for turning down political gigs. Lamiez revealed she turned multiple gigs organised by various political parties. On Monday, she wrote: “Turned down multiple gigs too. Wasn’t the easiest thing to do but it felt right.”

Her followers started applauding her for the decision.

“Thanks for not selling your soul,” wrote Jomo Nhlapho.

“Your conscience led u right. Profits gained through political gigs have got negative impact sometimes. Big ups, gal,” Zekman wrote.

But not everyone agreed with her as some of her followers felt this was not a wise decision.

Xoliswa Mnconywa commented: “That’s a bad decision. If your fans would vote for a party because you are performing for them, then the quality of your fans is questionable. Voters must take responsibility for their decisions. In this climate, every gig counts. But kea well done.”

DJ Zinhle And AKA’s New Found Friendship Has Mzansi Talking

DJ Zinhle And AKA’s New Found Friendship Has Mzansi Talking

DJ Zinhle And AKA’s New Found Friendship Has Mzansi Talking

AKA hyping and supporting his baby mama DJ Zinhle is probably the most heartwarming thing you will see today. The two have sparked rekindled romance rumours after AKA commented on a video his management company posted of Zinhle.

They might have rekindled something but it is most definitely not romance – at least for now. The duo are co-parents to Kairo Forbes, so it seems as though they are letting go of their egos for the betterment of their daughter.

An innocent display of support got turned into a farce and a big deal by trolls who wanted AKA to stop. AKA booked Zinhle to play at his Super Soft Sunday party at the Huula Beach Club in Germiston and she rocked the crowd.

AKA too was mesmerized and so he hyped Zinhle up and seemed excited for her set.

Now, this left a bitter taste in many people’s mouths as they do not want to see the two of them back together. They mentioned how AKA is apparently trying to lowkey ruin Zinhle’s new relationship with baby daddy Bongani ‘Murdah Bongz’ Mohosana

On the other hand, Zinhle is getting praises for being mature enough to play at her baby daddy’s gig and leaving the drama home.

Some of the comments are for and against this new found friendship. A tweep questioned AKA’s intentions and told him to fk off. But they received some smoke for such utterances. AKA’s biggest fan, @RubuThulisa said, “Lol you people are weird and fu up. I feel sorry for kids y’all be raising with this mindset. What a sad and miserable generation y’all are.”

Another one agreed and said Zinhle’s intentions have always been good, “They are in a good space and parenting well, I’m happy for them. I also think it’s because Zinhle has always been mature about everything and always sought peace even when she was hurt over and over again. She never does anything to spite aka but I can’t say the same for him.”

“Truthfully & respectfully speaking Rubu, AKA would never do this if his fiancée was still alive. Cause he was throwing jabs at Zinhle a lot & saying things like ‘get yourself a lekker 21-year-old then you’ll be happy’ etc. That’s the truth and you know it,” said @InHisTime.

The last time AKA publicly spoke about Zinhle was during is interview with Thembekile Mrototo after he answered questions involving Anele’s death. Shortly after the incident took place at the Pepper Club Hotel in Cape Town, investigators started doing their work and one of the people interviewed was the Indlovu Hitmaker. This was a very puzzling move to AKA as he questioned why was she interviewed and what direction is the inquest taking.

“Detectives flying up from Cape Town to interview Zinhle. Why? What is the directions of this inquest?” asked AKA.

Zinhle always remained mum about this until recently on an episode from her reality show. Speaking to Nomuzi ‘Moozlie’ Mabhena she said “This is something that is happening in Kiernan’s life but because Kiernan and I have a child together, it ends up affecting me. Kiernan has lost someone he loves and now people are making it about me,” said Zinhle.

Speaking to the camera, Zinhle said, “The thing about my life is a lot of things happen on social media and they’ve got nothing to do with me most of the time.”

“They just end up affecting me in some way, and I’ve learned not to care about it but this is also an emotional time in my life as I am pregnant,” she continued.

YouTuber and businesswoman Mihlali Ndamase has shared her lip filler story and how it was an epic fail. After speculation that she might have had a lip job done, Mihlali took to her YouTube account and opened up about having got lip fillers.

The makeup artist said the decision was solely based on getting a bridge on her upper lip, and had nothing to do with self-esteem issues. I honestly didn’t do them because of any insecurity about my lips, or any insecurity about my face. I honestly just wanted to achieve a fuller lip but I wanted it naturally. I love the bridge on full lips and I wanted that bridge, so I thought, let me just go and buy this bridge,” she explained.

Though she paid more than R5,000 for the lip filler, she didn’t feel like it was worth her money because the results were not what she had hoped for.

“I basically felt like my lips were botched and obviously quite a few people noticed. I mean, you guys know how my face looks,” she said on the clip.
Mihlali didn’t wait around with the fillers she was dissatisfied with, because it was her looks that cemented her career in the entertainment and fashion industries, and it’s these looks that have been sustaining her business.

In a recent interview with Donovan Goliath on The Lite Show, Mihlali said she initially thought of venturing into the corporate beauty space but found that she could monetise her career as an influencer.
