Nelspruit security guard killed while farmer fights for life after shooting

A security guard was killed and a farmer is fighting for his life following an early morning attack on a farm at Brondal, Nelspruit. Three others sustained minor injuries.

ER24 spokesperson, Russel Meiring, said emergency services responded to a shooting at the farm in Brondal just after 6am.

“When they arrived at the scene, they found a male security guard lying on the ground. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds and succumbed to his injuries. He was declared dead,” Meiring said.

The farmer was found lying in the kitchen and also sustained several gunshot wounds.

“He was in a critical condition,” Meiring said.

A second security officer and two women who were walking inside the home got away with minor injuries.

Medics treated the patients and provided the critically injured man with advanced life support interventions. He was airlifted to a hospital while the security officer was transported by ambulance. The two women were transported privately to a nearby hospital.

The DA has expressed concern at the attack.

The party’s Gillion Bosman said the incident again put the spotlight on farm attacks and the police’s inability to prioritize the safety of the farming community.

“It seems like the SAPS are not able to handle the increase in the murder rate in the province. This should be a priority,” he said.

Bosman said police need to establish specialized units to protect rural communities.

“This can have a huge influence on the economy of the province and food security. It is imperative for the government to look after the producers of our country,” he said.

When TV star and socialite Somizi Mhlongo and Mohale Motaung tied the knot in a glittering multimillion-rand wedding in January last year, little did South Africans who followed the build-up to the union know the violence and jealousy that dominated the relationship.

The jaw-dropping details are contained in a recorded interview with the producers of Living the Dream with Somizi. It is not known if the interview will still be aired.

Motaung has now come out saying he was “afraid” of Mhlongo when they exchanged vows in the much-publicized wedding.

The allegations were put to Mhlongo, who had not responded by the time of going to print.

Motaung has also accused the Idols SA judge of breaking his ribs and almost knocking out his two teeth in a jealously fuelled violent domestic dispute in their Joburg home last year.

Apart from the violent episodes that rocked their marriage, Motaung, who fled their marital pad after the incidents, said though “he loves” Mhlongo, “he was no longer in love with him” and that he wanted a divorce. LISTEN BELOW…

“Highly overrated hospital indeed. People are losing lives there”

“Aha… I once told my partner that I stay in Jozi but if anything happens am not going there, a lot of prominent people took their last breath there…”

“Money-making schemes those ones. The way they are milking government is not funny”

“Most Private Hospitals are Overrated, Moneymaking schemes, I took my kids to some of them, as a Healthcare professional myself, I know how Pathetic they can Be!”

On Friday, though doctors had prepared film producer and actress Connie Ferguson for the worst as her husband’s condition did not show any improvement, nothing could have prepared The Queen lead actress for the final moment.

Surrounded by her close friends who have been praying with her and offering her words of encouragement as Covid-19 hit her family hard this year, Connie lost her world when her husband, Shona Ferguson, died on Friday at Milpark Hospital from Covid-19 complications.

Shona’s sister Meggie Ferguson wrote: “We prayed, we fasted, we cried but God still found it necessary to call you home, it’s been a trying time but God will strengthen us … Rest in peace my brother, rest.”

Connie, whom close friends described as not having just lost a husband and the father of her kids but a lover, a friend, and a business partner, is said to be inconsolable.

Last week, a local publication published the story that Shona was fighting for his life.

A source close to the family said she was heartbroken and on the verge of a breakdown.

She has been crying nonstop and is refusing to even eat. She is in shock. The news has really paralysed her. I wish I could take away her pain away … She knew that he was not responding to the treatment and doctors did prepare her … she lost her world.

“Shona was her best friend,” said the source about the Rockville actor who turned 47 in April.

TV and Radio personality Somizi Mhlongo has released a statement addressing the accusations made against him today in the Sunday World newspaper.

According to the statement shared by entertainment commentator Phil Mphela, Somizi has referred the matter to his legal team.

The statement read: “Mr. Somizi Mhlong has become aware of allegations allegedly made against him by his estranged husband, Mr. Mohale Motaung, published in the Sunday World newspaper on 1 August 2021.

“Given the severity of the allegations, Mr. Mhlongo has referred this matter to his legal team who are best equipped to handle the matter moving forward. No further comment will be given until such a time deemed necessary by his legal representation.”

The publication reported that Mohale made damning allegations against Somizi to the producers of Somizi’s reality show, Living the Dream with Somizi.

He grabbed the knife and said ‘if you walk out, I’m going to stab you.’ Now I see a different person. I was sh*t scared and walked back into the house. He said ‘let’s talk.’ He cried and we moved on,” the publication quoted Mohale.

Prophet Who Foresaw Shona Ferguson’s Death Speaks Out

This past weekend has been very emotional and heartbreaking, especially for The Fergusons, their friends, colleagues and fans after the untimely passing of TV legend Shona Ferguson.

The filmmaker and actor passed away on Friday (30 July) at Milpark Hospital in Johannesburg after being admitted for COVID-19 related complications — this according a statement released by the family.

Tributes have been pouring in for the star who inspired people from all walks of life with his work; whether he was in front of the camera, behind it or even when he showed the world glimpses of his private life as a family man.

While tributes continuing to pour in for the late actor and producer, what has shocked many people on Twitter and has had many tongues wagging, is a Twitter user who allegedly prophesied about the passing of the legendary actor.

Rhadebelihle, on his Twitter account, shared screenshots of tweets that he had directed to actress Connie Ferguson on the 19th of May this year. Expressing his heartbreak, he said that when he saw that Shona had passed, it ‘broke his heart because all he wanted to do was to prevent this on the 19th of May 2021’. He further said that he was sorry that he didn’t try enough, also providing screenshots of his tweets from that day.

In a lengthy thread, Rhadebelihle had tagged Connie Ferguson, telling her that her husband’s life was in danger.

“Your husbands life is in danger. I am not seeking for attention if there was a better way of getting the message through it was gonna be easy to reach out to you private.”

The man who calls himself ‘the sun god rha in the nomo body’ went on to explain what he had seen with his spiritual eye; explaining that Connie was heartbroken and hurting when he spoke to her about her husband, Shona. He had also advised her to confirm his prophecy with a traditionalist and seek help for her husband.

I was with you 1hour ago in the spiritual astral plane the 4th dimension and this is what happened. I asked you if you are ohkay and you lied to me and said ” no it’s just a twar” I then talked about your husband how I admire and respect his uprising. You were so sad, distance, quiet. I started crying to the point I felt heart broken loosing my breath in tears and you screened.

“you SCREAMED in tears shouting with a heart broken sorrow saying “MY HUSBAND, MY HUSBAND” and in many times until it was over I said “I DON’T KNOW WHY AM CRYING, I DON’T KNOW WHY AM CRYING” it was so sad and devastating.

“If you don’t believe every word I say its ohkay. But for safety. Go to a traditionalist they will confirm. Tighten your family security. Make sure your family is protected especially your husband so he continues to live up to his calling as the chosen one. I thank you.”

These tweets, which were allegedly posted on the 19th of May, have since gone viral on Twitter. Upon circulating on the app, many users brushed them off as edits that were backdated with a third-party app. However, many others have come out to verify that the tweets were indeed posted on the said date as they remember seeing them. There are also comments under the tweet, which are also dated 19 May.

The 47-year-old actor is survived by his beautiful wife and business partner, Connie Ferguson. The couple were the epitome of couple goals. Their love was a love that many people dream of as they built an empire together and spent their days together making great TV and living life to the fullest.

Shona and Connie also have a beautiful daughter together, Alicia Ferguson, who is 18 years old; as well as Connie’s daughter from her first marriage, Lesedi Matsunyane-Ferguson, who has a baby boy that many of us have seen on our screens — most recently as Masego on Rockville season 5.
