When is Thabo Bester and Dr Nandipha’s next court appearance?

Convicted murderer and Facebook rapist Thabo Bester and his girlfriend, disgraced doctor, Nandipha Magudumana will be seeing each other again in February 2024 – this was decided by the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 11 October, Group Up reported.

IN WHICH PRISONS ARE THABO BESTER AND DR NANDIPHA KEPT?
Dr Nandipha Magudumana is held at the Bizzah Makhate Correctional Centre in Kroonstad. Meanwhile, Thabo Bester is closely watched at the C-Max section of Pretoria’s Kgosi Mampuru Correctional Centre. The lawyer of the notorious Bester has previously argued that his client is allegedly inhumanly kept behind bars and handcuffed for 23 hours in his cell.

WHAT HAPPENED AT THE LAST COURT CASE?
Thabo Bester announced that he had two new and prominent advocates fighting for him. He added Advocate Dali Mpofu and Advocate Zandile Mshololo to his legal team. Mshololo is currently representing accused number five in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial. Meanwhile, Mpofu is best known for his political contributions.
On the other hand, Dr Nandipha Magudumana was unable to step inside the dock as expected. Moments before she was supposed to set foot in court, her lawyer, Machini Motloung announced that she had fainted. He also said that she had not been feeling well and alleged that it was due to food poisoning.
Magistrate Estelle de Lange also dropped charges of three G4S employees who were implicated in Bester’s elaborate escape. Nastassja Jansen, Thabang Matthews Mier, and Moeketsi April Ramolula were let off the hook.

Thabo Bester is faced with several charges including defeating the ends of justice, fraud, corruption, violating a corpse, and arson. Meanwhile, Dr Nandipha Maguduman faces charges of abetting an inmate to escape from lawful custody, concealing an escaped offender, defeating the ends of justice, fraud, corruption, violating a corpse, and aiding.

Thabo Bester wears R15k luxury LV t-shirt in court

Earlier today convicted rapist and murderer Thabo Bester and his lover Dr Nandipha Magudumana appeared in court together for the first time . Dr Nandi — who couldn’t keep her eyes off Bester — had full glam makeup, Nike hoodie and fresh hairstyle. Bester on the other hand appears to have decided to show off his wealth in a Louis Vuitton t-shirt which some online clothing stores sell at around R15 000.

His fashion choice left social media users absolutely buzzing as they discussed the fact that he is allowed to dress up as he pleases On Tuesday morning this week, “Facebook rapist” and his disgraced celebrity doctor girlfriend Nandipha “Dr Nandi” Magudumana appeared together in court.

Bester, who usually makes his court appearances wearing fashion brand Nike, this time opted for a Louis Vuitton t-shirt which reportedly cost between R12 and R15k.

While the authenticity of the sweater cannot be ascertained, Thabo Bester is said to be worth millions after running a successful media company from behind bars. The convicted rapist and murderer also shaved his hair for the occasion and appeared to be in much higher spirits as he addressed the judge.

Dr Nandi could not stop smiling and blushing as she showed off her full face of makeup and new hairdo. The pair’s unusual court appearances have definitely caused quite a stir on social media.

Many wonder why they were treated to virtual attendances while others questioned the fact that they are allowed makeup and designer clothes. A few argued that the pair are receiving special treatment. Here are some of those comments:

Thabo Bester celebrates 37th Birthday

Convicted rapist, murderer, and fraudster, Thabo Bester spent his birthday enjoying a taste of freedom after escaping from his Mangaung prison cell weeks earlier, one year ago.

This time around he is firmly behind bars at the Kgosi Mampuru prison.

Bester celebrates his 37th birthday on 13 June 2023. For the first time in his life, he also has an identity document issued to him in recent weeks by the Department of home affairs.

On Twitter, many South Africans remembered Thabo Bester on his birthday.

Last year, Bester faked his death and escaped prison on 3 May with the help of prison officials and his alleged girlfriend, Nandipha Magudumana.

Bester would take refuge in Magudumana’s Hyde Park home, where he managed to fly under the radar.

Two weeks later, he would be photographed shopping in a Woolworths store in Sandton. The photo would only make headlines months later when his mysterious disappearance would finally be investigated.

Bester – allegedly using the alias Tom Motsepe – told the public that he was based in New York. He also claimed that he was related to SA billionaire Patrice Motsepe.

The company held a grand launch party at Hilton Hotel in Sandton on June 2018 – Bester’s real birthday -, attended by celebs like Amanda du Pont and Yvonne Chaka Chaka. Leading ladies Nomzamo Mbatha and Thabile Ngwato were MCs of the glamorous black-tie event.

In a video clip that has since gone viral, Nomzamo and Thabile sing happy birthday to “Tom,” who is seen laughing via a video link.

Thabo Bester was engaged to another wealthy woman before involving his partner in crime, Nandipha Magudumana.

Bester’s former prison mate disclosed this information in a recent interview with eNCA.

While Thabo was imprisoned at the Magaung Correctional Centre, he was fixated on his business ventures, despite being antisocial.

“He is a psychopath…he would sit in his cell for two or three months. He was anti-social,” the inmate said.

The man further disclosed the name of the businesswoman Bester was engaged to, but eNCA bleeped it out.

“He was linked to a CEO. She was engaged to Thabo Bester in 2016”.

The convicted rapist and murderer was also connected to celebrities who allegedly visited him in prison.

Ex-Miss Rwanda reveals how Thabo Bester and Dr Nandipha tried to lure her to Cape Town for $3 million Netflix gig

Former Miss Rwanda Jolly Mutesi has revealed how Facebook rapist Thabo Bester and Dr Nandipha Magudumana tried to lure her to Cape Town for a fake $3m per annum presenting opportunity on a Netflix show.

The fake show would be alongside reality star Kylie Jenner and musician Drake.

Mutesi, who is also an entrepreneur and a former Miss Rwanda 2016, was approached through Arum Holdings, which listed Magudumana as CEO and Bester, under the alias of TK Nkwana, as chairman.
Mutesi took to Twitter after reading about Bester in the media, and detailed how she had received an invitation to come to South Africa last September for a $3m deal.

“To the few that know me very well know that I am an introvert but very big at networking because I believe that your network is your net worth. So last year, I received an invitation to go to SA as a possible candidate to host a Netflix show alongside Kylie J & Drake,” said Mutesi.

Mutesi questioned why they had chosen her, to which the company responded saying that they needed an East African for the show and she apparently was the right profile.

Mutesi said she was sceptical despite her excitement over the opportunity, which would potentially give her a huge platform to launch herself to the world and show her potential, as well as a three-year contract where she would paid $3 to $4m per year.

“As a hustler that believes in the holy Bible, my instincts told me to look through it with a fine tooth comb. I requested the company profile, official invitation, and hotel booking, presented it to authorities to seek advice and help me to know how legit it was.

“The due diligence was done and I was advised not to go because everything found about the company was screaming scam,” said Mutesi.

Mutesi also expressed her gratitude to the Rwandan Embassy in South Africa for saving her life from the unknown intentions of the duo.

Mutesi cautioned young people in the limelight and those aspiring to be in the limelight to always do their research on all the opportunities presented to them.

“Dear young ones, especially those in the limelight, as you are out here fending for yourself, please be vigilant about whoever presents an opportunity to you. Not all that glitters is gold. There are crooks out here with cognitive empathy without compassion. Always seek advice. Stay safe y’all,” said Mutesi.

Bester and his girlfriend Magudumana remain in custody after they were brought back to South Africa following their arrest in Arusha, Tanzania, just over a week ago.

Facebook Rapist and murderer Thabo Bester and his alleged lover Dr. Nandipha Magudumama left their luxury rental home in Hyde Park; they were finally caught and arrested in Tanzania.

Thabo allegedly left his watch valued at R1.5 million watch on the bedside table.

Their plush home valued at R12 million has since been vacant and back on the rental market.

According to ZiMoja, 4Tune Property Smiths confirmed that the house is back-up for rental.

“It is a beautiful four-bedroom home going for R70 000 monthly rental.”

“We will be updating the site soon for people to start viewing. It is beautiful and located in luxurious Hyde Park.”

An insider from the estate agent revealed the luxurious life Dr. Nandipha flexed.

“She drove luxury cars and lived a good life.”

The property is reported to have been under Thabo’s alias name Katlego Tom “TK” Motsepe Nkwana and Dr. Nandipha explained that her husband was overseas, whereas he was still serving time behind bars.

“Nothing major. Nandipha didn’t own the house, so we can do as they please. The house is still beautiful and in tip-top condition.”

It was clear Thabo Bester was living a “soft life” behind bars, with a laptop and cellphone at his disposal and several prison wardens on his payroll.

Before escaping the Mangaung Correctional Centre in May 2022, the convicted rapist, murderer, and fraudster was given many privileges, thanks to his alleged multi-million bank account.

And in a recently resurfaced clip, a carefree Bester is seen showing off his carefree life.
Will it be the same for him the second time around?

Despite being sentenced to life for the 2012 murder of his girlfriend Nomfundo Tyhulu, Thabo Bester seemingly enjoyed the special privileges of prison.

And this is evident in a viral video clip of Thabo filming himself behind bars. In the clip, the con man appears in high spirits as he shimmies around his single prison cell.

Twitter user @am_blujay tweeted the video, captioning it: “Thabo was living in a hotel in jail”.

Despite initial reports that he would be rehomed at the Kgosi Mampuru prison in Pretoria, Thabo Bester has returned to Magaung Correctional Centre following his recapture.

Bester will be remanded in custody until his next court appearance on 16 May 2023.

Meanwhile, Twitter users have also shared leaked images of Thabo Bester from his stint behind bars. But instead of a prison uniform, Bester is seen wearing designer clothes and shoes.

The same Twitter user shared pics of Bester seemingly out in public following his prison escape.

In the pics, Bester is seen sitting in a luxury car, snapping away with his state-of-the-art smartphone.

The tweep continued: “Thabo Bester splurged on expensive gadgets, gifts, and large sums of money as soon as he was out of prison. The source of his money is unknown”.

Thabo Bester refuses to eat due to his safety

Thabo Bester makes requests about his meals and how he was brought back to South Africa after being arrested in Tanzania.

The convicted murderer escaped prison in 2022 and has been on the run with his alleged lover, Dr Nandipha.

Following his arrest in Tanzania, Bester arrived SA with tight security and has appeared at the Bloemfontein Magistrates Court.

The lawyer defending Thabo says his client has not eaten since he arrived SA due to his safety.

“My instruction is that my client hasn’t eaten since he was incarcerated fearing for his safety. He asked to be provided food by his legal team that he trusts. The accused would also wish to be furnished with the extradition documents of how he was brought back to South Africa.”

The accused did not agree with the ID number in the temporary passport, his defence lawyer said.

However, the state prosecutor slammed Thabo’s request.

“I’m surprised by these submissions, before his escape he was in the very same prison for about eight years, and he was fed and kept safe. Once a person is a convicted prisoner, he is the responsibility of the Department of Correctional Services not the court.”

“He cannot be treated differently from other inmates. When he was moved from Tanzania, he was supposed to articulate his concerns. Now he is correctly placed where he is supposed to be. He must take up the issues of the ID number with home affairs.”

The case was postponed to May 16 for further investigation.
