Simphiwe Ngema remembers her late husband, Dumi Masilela who died on the 3rd of August, 2017. Taking to social media, Simz shared a music video that was a tribute to her late lover. It appears the singer is yet to move on despite dating Tino Chinyani for some months which resulted in the birth of her first child.

Dumi’s death left Simz highly devastated as he was killed in a hijacking, two months after their wedding.

“Losing Dumi two months after our wedding was worse than my worst nightmare and after he passed away I was afraid that people would forget him, so I did everything I could to keep his memory alive but at some point, I realized that holding on hurts so much more,” she said years ago.

Today is Dumi’s 5th death anniversary and Simz honoured him with a post shared on Instagram.

Actress and songstress Simphiwe’ Simz’ Ngema has opened up on how she has become everything she has always wanted after feeling empowered. The former Muvhango star revealed that due to becoming more empowered, she has now turned into a “s.e.xual beast”, among other things.

Simz has experienced her own fair share of challenges, perhaps more than the average person, and less than half a year ago, her marriage collapsed.

Speaking on how she is coping with the latest setback and how she is healing, Simphiwe said that she is now focusing on becoming everything she has always wanted.

The multi-talented media personality is now focusing on maximizing herself in the different facets of her life. She also cautioned people not to make assumptions about her.

In a heartfelt post on photo-sharing social media platform Instagram, Simz Ngema said,

“No matter what you’ve been through, who you become will always be a choice. We are not what happened to us. Go through it, don’t become it!

“Me, I’ve chosen to become everything I’ve always wanted to become. A motivational speaker, a spiritual woman, a woman who loves adventure, a s.e.xual beast, an entertainer, a dancer, a singer, an actor and most importantly a mother to a beautiful boy.

“No, you don’t know me, you just know parts of me I’ve decided to show you. Box me and I’ll shock you.”

Simphiwe Ngema became a young widow at the age of 27. She was married to musician and Rhythm City star Dumi Masilela in May 2017 in a beautiful intimate wedding ceremony.

Unfortunately, their union was short-lived after Dumi Masilela was tragically killed when he was shot in a botched hijacking barely 3 months later.

After the pain of losing her husband, Simz was later able to move on and love again after she met Zimbabwean model Tino Chinyani in 2020. The two welcomed their son, Tiyani Chinyani, in the same year.

Unfortunately, it seems that it was not meant to be and Simz and Tino announced the end of their relationship last year.

Announcing the breakup, Simz said,

“An end to a beautiful love story. This has been one of my greatest experiences, a beautiful love story of two people fighting all the odds to be together. I have learnt to love again, to feel again, to live again, and to smile again. I will forever be grateful for everything you have taught me.

“@tiyani_chinyani we will always be great parents to you and we will always be there for you. No tears here, just lessons learnt and beautiful memories. I really had a beautiful fun weekend. Here’s to friendship and dope ass co-parenting. @Tino_chinyani Take care of yourself. Love you forever & always.”

Simphiwe Ngema is a mother to a 1-year-old son and looking at the current state of gender based violence, she is encouraged to raise him to be a better man. The doting mother of one took to social media to relay her thoughts about the surge of gender based violence, and how it is too late for these broken men to be healed.
The only way she feels this pandemic will end is if men would start unlearning a lot of things and start treating women right. Although she is grateful for the men who do good, she is worried about the broken ones.

“I look at the men of our generation and I feel like it’s too late. I am grateful for the good men, but I feel like it’s too late for the broken ones, where do we begin to change the narrative? How do we help them become better? How do we help them unlearn what they’ve known to be their truth all their lives?” she asked.

Has Simz Ngema found the cure for Gender Based Violence?

After asking herself all of these questions, Simphiwe Ngema said she always comes to one conclusion, and that is to raise her son Tiyani Micheal Kemorena Chinyani, the right way. Statistics say it’s women that are dying at the hands of men, where do we begin? The answers I get so far tell me to raise my son to be a good man, have we given up on our generation?”

Simphiwe then spoke about cancel culture and how it does not solve anything especially because they are cancelled on social media. Cancel culture doesn’t solve a thing, we ‘cancel’ them on social media then carry on with our real lives like nothing happened.

When her son Tiyani turned a year old, Simphiwe wished success upon his life and all things positive, “Crazy that’s it’s been a year already & it still feels surreal but seeing you smile reminds me that this truly is one of the best chapters of my life.

Actor and media personality may not have been that famous before dating actress and singer Simz Ngema. Their relationship may not have worked out but at least they have a baby to show for it and we love to see it.

Just recently, however, it seems Tino has ruffled the wrong feathers after it was discovered how much he charges just to book him to make a performance.

As reported by entertainment blogger Musa Khawula on Twitter, in order to book Tino for a gig, you have to pay a whooping R15 000. The news has come as a shock to many who are still wondering what exactly Tino does that would warrant such an expensive charge rate.

And while some of the reactions are a bit hilarious, most if not all of the tweeps reacting are quite literally mopping the floor with Tino. According to most of them, Tino is only charging this much because he is an ex to Simz and now feels famous enough to quote such a price.

If that is not enough, many have gone to make a guess at what exactly he does because he surely cannot be charging 15k just to see him model on stage is he? To answer that question, tweeps have uncovered one of his music videos with many surprised that Tino even sings in the first place.

One thing is for sure, tweeps are simply not taking this news as pleasantly as had been expected.

That aside however, Tino just recently took to his Instagram to share cute father and son moments and we have to agree that these two make one adorable duo. Both father and son just recently featured on their first magazine cover together that stole the hearts of many in Mzansi.
