AWARD-WINNING musician Simphiwe Dana is relieved that her car was found shortly after it went missing.

On Friday, she revealed that she took her car to a panel beater, but it later got stolen by one of the employees at the establishment.

“My car just got stolen about three hours ago at a panel beater’s by one of the employees.”

She went on to social media to ask people to be on the lookout for it, but later revealed that it had been found.

“Good news; my car has been found. The tracker miraculously started working after it seemed to have been disabled. Now going to figure out what really happened,” she shared.

However, one of her fans accused Simphiwe of lying, saying she was using this as a tactic to promote her upcoming show, that will take place next week.

Simphiwe responded with screenshots of her conversations with the panel beater’s owner as proof.

She then took the time to show gratitude to those who had spread the word, adding that had it not been for social media, she probably would not have found her car.

“I believe it was the power of social media that scared the thieves into abandoning my car. When their names and faces were everywhere, maybe they freaked out. So, thank you for spreading the word. Nangamso.”

Our wonderful mother, MamJoli, left us earlier today. We are wounded, but grateful for the grace with which she raised us and all her other adopted children. Please hold us in prayer,” she pleaded.

“Boitumelo Madiba I’m coming for you, my guy. You will have to explain how you got confidential information and, further put it out in a bid to defame my name. Plus put my family at risk by publishing my address. @MadiBoity,” she said.

“I see my abuser is busy on the timeline. He’s going to jail okusalayo. I have taken a lot of shit from him, only because I dared to take him to task for being an abuser. This is what we go through when we report abuse.”

“This idiot put my address on the timeline. And how he got that letter will be investigated. I’m tired. Now I will be suing him too. It’s suing season I guess.”

“If he thinks I can’t trace it back to him he’s even more stupid than I gave him credit for. Going to the police station now.”

Simphiwe revealed that this same guy has threatened to kill her before.

“This is the same guy who said ‘I can kill you and get away with it’. While he was strangling me. I’ve been quietly going to court to deal with him. Now that he sees he actually cannot get away with it, he does this. So ke, let the whole world see what a nonsense he is.”

Award-winning musician Simphiwe Dana has taken aim at President Cyril Ramaphosa for what she labelled “ignoring” artists and their cries for help during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Simphiwe, who is not afraid to express her thoughts and often takes to social media to share how she feels politics in South Africa and the state of the nation, said she was unimpressed with the president’s supposed disinterest in the arts. I’m also quite unimpressed with how our president has ignored the arts during this pandemic.

“But he will be ‘shocked’ when things completely fall apart in this sector,” wrote Simphiwe.
The “Uzokhala” hitmaker also went on to note the similarities between the art and political fields, emphasising that working in these fields means having more than just a job.

She voiced her concern that soon “men with big guns” may show up at our door if we disagree with our leaders.

“I worry that soon we won’t be able to disagree with our leadership without men with big guns showing up on our doorsteps and our own people cheering them on. I hope to God I’m wrong. This pandemic is exposing a lot of ish.

Simphiwe Dana is a musical legend but through a consequence of the lockdown she has turned into homemaker, re-purpose DIY queen and a studio owner. While she might be all of the aforementioned, it seems that the “Bamako” musician is also just as much a diva in the household, as she is suggested to be when she is set to perform in large stages.

Simphiwe Dana slammed for being tough on her nunny

It was good day for the Twitter active musician before she took it upon herself to comment on Anele Mdoda’s post with what many suggested was a little on the “too much” side when it comes to the demands she makes on her in-house nanny. Confused? Here is a quick recap.

Anele Mdoda took to Twitter and detailed how her deputy nanny- talk about levels- had ruined her dress by washing it with colour. Mdoda revealed that she was rich, but not that rich when she admitted that besides having worn the dress once and having paid a bag for the dress; her deputy nanny ruining the dress was hurtful. Eventually we came to learn that dress had survived the ordeal, but that was not before her post landed Dana in a little heated water with her own followers.

This is after the “Bantu Biko Street” songstress took to the initial post by Mdoda and explained that for her new nannies there is one condition she makes clear; that her white laundry along with any white linen is hand washed. Yes, the rule is that all her new nannies know and wash her whites and white linen by hand. For tweeps that took the chance of facing the wrath of the fiery musician, it was the matter of having her new nanny hand washing her linen that was too much.

However, as the tweet started receiving some backlash, the newly engaged songstress initially tried to deflect- allegedly- by detailing on the fresh produce she has been receiving from her neighbours because artists-are-having-a-hard-time. Dana managed to get herself curry leaves and organic eggs due to the effects of the pandemic on her securing bag- not sure how far these will go to pay her rent, but then, what do we know?

When she eventually did respond to the backlash she received over her comment, Dana let it be known that she only asks because firstly she pays well. Another reason was that it is their job, and she would- or does- do it herself when she does not have a nanny because the washing machine supposedly does not do the things that must done. And basically, that is that on that.
