Trouble in the family as Mampintsha disowns his mom & sister

South African musical artist, Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo and his family have disowned each other. This comes after his mum Zama Gumede and his sister, Pinki Gumede, recently complained to the publication that they were not paid for appearing on season one of his reality show Uthando Lodumo.

Zama was allegedly paid R10000 for season two and Pinki R5000.

“I’ll no longer participate in this show unless they give me my money,” Zama told the SunTeam.

After the two spoke out, Mampintsha allegedly phoned his family members and disowned them.

Zama said: “He called and accused me of bad-mouthing him to Showmax and the producers. He’s angry that I exposed him. He said he wants nothing to do with us because we’re jealous of his success.

“I don’t care because he doesn’t buy me anything.

“I survive through piece jobs. I’m therefore asking Showmax to delete all the episodes that show my face.”

Pinki said Mampintsha insulted them and said they brought him bad luck.

“He said we are jealous and trying to bring him down. He said he doesn’t need us because this is his project. We are seeking legal advice to demand our money from Showmax,” she said.

MultiChoice executive head for programming, Nomsa Philiso, said Showmax could not intervene in the relationships between family members.

“Parental Advisory Productions is producing Uthando Lodumo, and we respect that the relationship between cast and production companies is subject to the agreements between them.”

Mampintsha didn’t answer his phone or reply to text messages at the time of going to print.

Musician Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo got tongues wagging after he revealed R100K could bag you a feature with him.

Now that Ke Dezemba is over, Mampintsha is ready to get back to the grind and ensure those coins start rolling in.

“I’ve had people asking me how much it costs to feature me. It’s 100k, I come with the song, the direction of the song, I’ll teach you how to sing if you don’t know how, then we shoot the video and do the promotion as well. It’s a package. I do everything,” he said in a video shared on Instagram.

In another post, Mampintsha said he charges R20,000 for a dance routine.

The post received mixed reactions on Twitter. While some fans found the amount to be reasonable because of Mampintsha’s experience in the music world, others felt the amount was a little steep.

Take a look at the responses below:

In a previous interview with TshisaLIVE, DJ Tira claimed to have received an unreasonable booking fee request to get Mampintsha’s bae, Babes Wodumo, to perform at his Gqom In Concert music festival stage but said every artist had the right to charge as they wished.

“I guess a person has a right to charge as much as they want, but I know for a fact that it was not her normal fee that I was being quoted. I don’t know if it was because it was me or the show, but the price was higher than we could afford and we could not match it. We hope they will still come around and we can negotiate the fee,” he said.

Makhadzi and Babes Wodumo are still trending after Babes claims that the singer has been having an affair with her husband.

The stars was all over the internet as Makhadzi made it known that she had no affair with Mampintsha.

She mocked the claim and forgave her, but returned to social media to set the record straight.

The Limpopo-born singer revealed how Babes fought for hours in the studio with Mandla, just because she came to record a song with the West Ink boss.

“I was trying to tell you Babes Wodumo that, you were supposed to respect the fact that, ever since I came to your studio, you’ve never heard anyone talking about what happened in the studio. I kept quiet, I didn’t even share with anyone. The only person I told was my boyfriend, I told him you were fighting with your boyfriend to not look at me, and it’s something I can not control,” Makhadzi said in the video.

However, Mampintsha has been really quiet about the issue and it is boarding so many as they wonder why he has still not spoken out.

This after he performed at a packed venue at Ebhodini Lifestyle in Mariannhill, west of Durban, on Saturday.

Sources said the huge crowd was not wearing masks.

And that prompted cops to storm into the venue and ordered the crowd to vacate, and then arrest owner Xolani Makhaye.

“The police also looked for Mampintsha but he was nowhere to be found. He had run away,” said the source.

Another source said cops arrived when Mampintsha had just left the stage.

“He was still in the venue when they arrived, but he managed to save himself from being arrested by running away,” said the source.

In his Instagram page, Mampintsha said he had heard that he was wanted, asking what he did.

Speaking to Daily Sun, his manager Sbu Ncube confirmed that Mampintsha performed at the venue.

“Yes, cops arrived but Mampintsha did not run away. He just went out with the crowd that was ordered to leave. He did nothing wrong and he doesn’t own the venue. He’s not the one who opened the gate and told people to come in. He was just there to perform,” said Sbu.

Police spokeswoman Captain Nqobile Gwala told Daily Sun that Mampintsha did not arrive at the police station.

“Call again this afternoon to check if he has handed himself over.”

But she refused to indicate whether he was really wanted by police.

Xolani refused to comment, saying his case was in court.

Mampintsha’s mum warns her son and Babes Wodumo of a curse

T looks like the drama between Mampintsha, his wife and mum is far from over.

After the Uthando Lodumo reality stars announced they’d be releasing a song titled Sponge Wodumo, Mampintsha’s mum Zama Gumede warned them against it.

She said if they continued to make fun of her, they were asking for a curse.

“The Bible says respect your father and your mother so that you will live longer. Clearly, they don’t know that verse in the Bible. They mustn’t make fun of me based on what I’ve said. These kids don’t know how life is. They are only living in a moment. It’s sad,” said Zama.

Mampintsha, whose real is Mandla Maphumulo and Babes Wodumo, real name Bongekile Simelane, have been calling themselves abazali baSpontshi (Sponge’s parents) after Mampintsha’s mum accused Babes of faking her pregnancy by putting sponges on her stomach.

The two gqom stars took to social media to announce their newborn son had released SpongeBob-inspired hoodies.

Zama said they mustn’t drag their son into their disrespectful tendencies.

“The baby knows nothing. He’s innocent and it’s unfortunate that his parents are dragging him into this. What kind of parents are they? In fact, have they given the child a proper name?” asked Zama.

After the baby was born, she claimed she heard the news from strangers and not her son.

In June, she told Daily Sun that after the video where she lashed out at Babes went viral, her son neglected her.

Babes’ sister and manager Nondumiso Simelane said she had decided not to comment on anything said by Zama.

“No, ay’. I don’t want to say anything,” said Nondumiso.

Mampintsha said the song was meant to celebrate the birth of their son.

“We meant no disrespect to anyone, my mother in particular. Sponge Wodumo is a nice title for the song. A curse? I don’t know what to say about it,” he said.

Gqom singer Mampintsha’s new look has become the talk of the town – again.

The former Big Nuz member has now grown a beard and people can’t recognise him.

Shimora, as he’s also popularly known, posted the picture with the new look and asked people to react to the new Mampintsha with a beard.

The picture has been reacted to over 10 000 times and has almost 1 000 comments. People had mixed feelings about it, but there were mostly bad comments. But some people said the beard looked good on him.

Facebook user Queen Her asked: “Am I the only one who wouldn’t have recognised him if we weren’t told this is him?”

“OK, I’m gonna ask the question everybody is scared to ask… Is it real?” asked another user, Wandile Mgwabi.

Cash Mthimkulu wrote: “It was hard for me to recognise him at first.”

Makhosi Ngcobo was one of the few who said the beard looks good on Shimora.

“I honestly would have never recognised you had it not been for the caption. It looks good on you though,” she wrote.

“Looking very mature,” wrote Aretha Biyela.

Some said he looks like Sandile Dlamini, who plays Shongololo on e.tv’s Durban Gen.

However, the beard wasn’t the only thing his fans reacted to. His weight became a topic again. They asked him what he uses to lose weight.

When he lost weight in 2019, people assumed he was sick. But he rubbished those rumours and said he was fine.

Mampintsha also recently married his long-time girlfriend, Gqom superstar Babes Wodumo, in April.
and are expecting their irt child soon.

Zamanguni Gumede-Zuma, the mother of Gqom superstar Mampintsha is filled with compunction following a very heated video of her cussing and dragging her daughter-in-law. She told Briefly News that she wishes to make amends with Babes Wodumo as she wants to be in her unborn grandchild’s life.

65-year-old Zama told the publication that she was filled with wrath when she confronted Babes in the video. In the video she accuses Babes of trying to control her sons life. It is clear that she never liked Babes and even said she instructed her and the family to not set foot at their wedding.

She even accused her of faking her pregnancy and then proceeded to diss her growing grandchild by saying he or she will probably be a cat. From what many observed, Zama was probably intoxicated but that cannot be known for sure.

After their lavish traditional wedding, she went on a rant but now she wants to apologise to her in person. She might not like Babes, but if her son, Shimora wants to spend the rest of his life with her, then there is nothing she can do but to be supportive.

“At the end of the day, she is my daughter-in-law, and we have to iron out issues and move past. Mandla is my son, and if he chooses Babes Wodumo, then there’s nothing I can do. I want to apologise to her in person, and we move on as a family. I want to be a responsible mother to both of them,” she told the publication.

She then further wished them longevity and hopes they could build a warm home for their child. Zama opened up to the publication and said she does not want a lot from Mampintsha, she only wants to spend time with her grandchild before she departs earth.

Babes might want to rethink her decision of pressing charges against her mother-in-law because sis was adamant that she wants to teach her a lesson. “I am going to press charges against her for humiliating me in public and for swearing at me. I don’t understand why she is dragging my name in the mud.”
“I am pregnant, whether she likes it or not. If she has problems with it, she must deal with it. I am hurt about this. I know most of the things she says when she is drunk should not be taken seriously, but this time she has gone too far. I am going to press charges against her. I want her to clear my name,” Babes told Daily News.

Mampintsha Throws Shade At His Mother’s Comment

South African musician Mampintsha and his newly wedded wife Babes Wodumo has been making the headline over the past week after their beautiful traditional wedding, but they were not all good.

Following the couple’s wedding, which saw a number of celebrities in attendance, Mampintsha’s Mother Zama Gumede dropped some bombshells in the form of a video addressed to Babes Wodumo and her family.

Madam Zama hurled insults at her daughter-in-law and the Simelanes. She called the singer a liar who has been faking her pregnancies. She said that Babes is not really pregnant, claiming that her baby bump is nothing but sponges.

In response to these claims, Babes Wodumo hit back with the words “I am pregnant, whether she likes it or not.” The ‘eLamont’ hitmaker also made it known that she will be suing the pants off her mother-in-law for publicly shaming her and her f amily.
“I am going to press charges against her for humiliating me in public and for swearing at me. I don’t understand why she is dragging my name in the mud,” Babes said.

Mampintsha has been quiet since this Brouhaha started, but yesterday, he posted a photo showing himself and his new wife sitting in what looked like a restaurant.

He then captioned it: “No maka Spontshi” loosely translated, with Sponge’s mother.

People loved what Mampintsha did, saying they respect him for not letting his mother get in the way of his happiness.

“Love how you always manage to turn negative things into things that work for you,” said Nondumiso Mabasa on Facebook.

“I love how you’re making a joke of that situation. You’re making lemonade out of lemons,” said Anele Njapa.

“We are now waiting for a song that says ‘there’s a sponge in this tummy’,” wrote Minenhle Mhlongo.

Mampintsha angers fans after canceling show last minute – The reason will shock you

Musician Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo has pulled a no-show due to non-payment.

He was supposed to perform at Njengabantu Peace Park in Durban at an event called Party at the Park featuring Mampintsha.

The event was scheduled for Saturday, 1 May. However, he decided to cancel his performance.
Hours before the event, Mampintsha called out event organisers to contact him.

“Promoters of this event must call me otherwise this is getting out of hand. I haven’t received my full payment, and I’ve been trying to phone them since yesterday. Today I have five gigs. if they don’t pay in full, I might not attend this particular event,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

An hour later he announced that he will no longer part of the event due to non-payment.

Across the posts he wrote the words: “Full payment not received.”

He later deleted all the posts relating to the event.

His posts attracted a lot of criticism as his followers felt he failed to handle the situation in a professional manner. They felt he was being petty and shouldn’t have disclosed their contractual details.

Siyanda Kunene said: “Now you are behaving like a child. There was no need to go into details about this. You should have just announced the cancellation of your performance and stopped there.”

Ntokozo Ndlovu said: “Very unprofessional and immature of you to go public and put such a bold sign that the promoters didn’t pay you and as a result you will not be part of the event. You could have handled this announcement differently,”

Other Facebook users said that he was the last person to demand a full payment because sometimes he does not honour his gigs.

“Why is he even demanding a full payment when he hasn’t performed. I am asking because he has a tendency of not pitching, even though he was paid and he would not mention that,” commented Thandeka Hlabisa.
