Gail Mabalane speaks more about how she struggled with Alopecia – Loss of hair. The actress gets more real with fans as she shared a photo revealing how she lost her hair. Gail decides to share her story since the month of September is Alopecia Universal Awareness Month.
“This journey inspired the birth of @ethnogenics. This is way more prevalent than we think. From receding hairlines to bald patches to hair loss that starts in the middle of the head to scalp sensitivity. We, (women especially) have just become so good at hiding it and “suffering” / fighting it in silence,” she said.
The businesswoman who now owns a hair-care brand revealed that she started losing hair three years ago.
My wish is for everyone who is experiencing hair loss to know that you are not alone. I know that the experience comes with a ton of emotions. When we work through them, we come out stronger on the other side,” she wrote.

Gail Mabalane has taken to her social media to celebrate her husband, Kabelo Mabalane as he marks 20 years of being clean and sober.
The star inspired his Instagram followers with the testimony that he has been clean and sober for the past 20 years. Kabelo thanks Jesus for helping him overcome the struggle.
“Today 20 years ago, a ride like no other began. This journey has made me more realistic, I now believe in miracles. Thank you, Jesus. If I can do it, you can do it too,” he wrote.
Taking to Instagram, Gail said her husband inspires her and she is proud of him.

The actress who is known to have battled hair loss for years said the struggle inspired her two years ago to start the products which work perfectly, as she’s a testimony.

Kabelo and Gail Mabalane are celebrating nine years of marriage. The two stars have been together for 11 years, and marked the milestone by penning heartfelt messages to each other on their social media timelines this week.
Sharing a snap of the couple, Kabelo wrote: “This time nine years ago I was getting ready to become a husband to an incredible woman. I mean just look at her, she’s as beautiful inside as she is outside.
“Exceedingly, abundantly, above what you might think, ask, or even imagine truly does exist. Happy ninth anniversary, my baby, Gail Mabalane. Like we always say: let’s keep failing forward.” Kabelo wrote.

Gail Mabalane opens up on illness that is making all her hair fall
Back in 2019, actress Gail Mabalane decided to go bald after being diagnosed with alopecia – a condition which Web MD describes as an autoimmune disorder that causes your hair to come out and often results in hair loss.
Now, the Blood and Water actress has started a YouTube channel in which she has conversations about her personal hair journey and the struggles that black women face when it comes to their hair.
Taking to her Instagram page to make the announcement, Gail revealed that the channel was inspired by the number of emails and messages she received from women who had questions about hair.
“My Hair Journey – The Beginning. This Women’s Month, I’m so excited to finally take you with me on my #HairJourney. So many women have inboxed and emailed and stopped me to ask questions and get advice on this very real issue. So…please subscribe to my YouTube channel (link in Bio) and let’s get talking,” she wrote on Instagram.
In the first video that was posted on her channel, Gail talks about her overall hair journey and explains when she started to experience problems with her hair after a salon visit.
“You go into self-medicating, going online, asking a friend, and phoning around asking ‘what can I use?’ I tried everything from Bob Martins, people giving me creams, and things I could drink. So I went through a period of self-medicating where I was trying this and trying that. Prayer was my daily bread,” she said.
“After weeks of doing that, I realized that it was not working because I know the rate at which my hair grows. When I realized that my hair was not growing and that the patch was getting bigger, I [knew] that something was wrong. This was not my hair because when I cut it, it grows. That’s when I decided to consult,” she adds.
Gail then concludes the video by revealing the type of Alopecia she was diagnosed with, which she says is commonly found in black women.
She also explains that she decided to go public with her condition because this is a conversation that women need to have.
“I knew this was a sensitive conversation for women, but I also knew that it was a necessary one. And I really wanted to create a platform where, as women, we can come together and talk about something that is a big part of our identity…,” she explained.
Actress Gail Mabalane shares cute photos of her daughter, Zoe as she turns 6-year-old. The young girl has won Mzansi’s hearts with her posts, as she has an Instagram page.
Taking to social media, Gail penned down sweet note about her daughter.
“My BABY is 6!!! ??? Happy Birthday beautiful princess Zoe. You bring so much light and joy into our lives. We are so blessed to have you. ? I cannot believe that I’ve been a mother for 6 years!!!”
