Mayor Comfort Khumalo blasts DJ Tira for neglecting his hometown

BIG 5 Hlabisa Local Municipality mayor Comfort Khumalo has blasted DJ Tira, Mthandeni “Igcokama Elisha” Manqele and Mroza Fakude for not promoting their home town.

He said they should work with him to promote their rural villages, but they seem to distance themselves from the area.

He called them out while delivering the integrated development plan speech in Nqutshini in Hluhluwe, northern KZN, on Friday 30 April.

Khumalo said DJ Tira was born and raised in KwaHlabisa, but is always promoting Durban. He said he’s happy for their success, but he wants them to use their fame to promote their villages and get investors.

DJ Tira told Daily Sun that he wants to work with Hlabisa municipality and promote his home town.

“They have never took me seriously or made resources available. If they are now serious, I’m ready for Woze Hlabisa,” he said.

Mathandeni told Daily Sun he has promoted his village, eMdletsheni.
“I will be happy to do business with them. As a top artist, I have power and they have to pay me if I work with them. I will not promote the municipality for nothing,” he said.

Mroza, who won the SABC Summer Song competition in 2016 with his popular song titled Sobulala uVan Damme, told Daily Sun he was ready to work with the municipality.

“I will wait for them to call me and I will go to them if they invite me,” he said.

DJ Tira and Sjava applauded for being there for AKA

Anele ‘Nelli’ Tembe’s funeral service took place on Friday, 16 April at the Durban Convention Centre. It was an emotional day where many A-list celebrities gathered to pay their respects.

AKA was blanked by emotions. Seeing him lifeless and empty is something that has never been seen before. Fellow Mzansi artists such as DJ Tira and Sjava attended the funeral to show their support.

Heartbreaking pictures of Mzansi celebrities at the funeral were shared by True Love magazine on social media. The picture of Sjava hugging AKA is enough to bring tears to your eyes.

DJ Tira’s wife Gugu Khathi speaks out after beating up RHOJ star Christall Kay

Gugu Khathi who is the wife of Durban music king, DJ Tira has been tagged a straatmate and she’s responded to the new title. The businesswoman was reported to attack Real Housewives Of Johannesburg (RHOJ) star, Christall Kay.

Gugu Khathi is the one who punched me in the eye, resulting in a black eye. She did this when I was sitting down and there was no threat to her,” Christall said. “I have evidence to prove this. She is scared over what she has done and is trying to make out a case against me. Charges are currently being laid against her,” she added.

Gugu was called a straatmate by a person who confirmed that she can be violent despite being glamorous with her looks.

“Don’t be fooled by Gugu’s glam, she can be a straatmate. She once attacked my friend in a club, accusing her of flirting with DJ Tira. Taking to Instagram, the music star’s wife shared a video of herself flexing a red Porsche and used the hashtag straatmate. Some followers reacted saying she’s accepting the claim.

DJ Tira’s wife, Gugu Khathi has allegedly attacked Real Housewives Of Johannesburg star Christall Kay. According to Sunday World, the Durban DJ’s bae teamed up with Brinette, who is also of RHOJ fame, to wrestle Christall at a club in Pretoria.

The brawl erupted last month as the two ganged up on the wealthy businesswoman and singer. They first got into a heated argument, before proceeding to throw hands at each other. The fight was so intense that they even had to switch into comfortable gear just so they can beat up Christall.

The bouncers at the club had to intervene but did not call the police, instead they rushed Christall to the hospital. Now, a beaten and bruised Christall is threatening legal action against the two. Christall told the publication that Gugu punched her in the eye, resulting in a black eye. She said she did not confront her or anything, Gugu just charged at her whilst enjoying her drinks “Gugu Khathi is the one who punched me in the eye, resulting in a black eye. She did this when I was sitting down and there was no threat to her,” Christall said.

Kay added that Gugu regrets beating her up, so she has decided to open charges against her, “I have evidence to prove this. She is scared over what she has done and is trying to make out a case against me. Charges are currently being laid against her.”

Khathi on the other hand who is known for being involved in countless fights laughed off the matter when contacted by the publication and simply said, she and Christall are in good terms. She even called her ‘bestfriend’, “I can confirm the incident happened, but what shocks is that fact that out of all the people in the club, how can Christal choose my name, there were too many people in that club, why does she pick me, besties don’t do that to each other.”

This brawl allegedly resulted in the upcoming season of RHOJ getting stalled for a few more months. This is to allow Christall’s face to heal. Remember a few months ago we revealed that Gugu will be joining the ladies at RHOJ, well that decision might also get revoked seeing how the ladies are scared of Gugu.

It is also alleged that Gugu is a notorious streetfighter. This after she fought a woman who flirted with her husband, DJ Tira.

Another incident took place last year, June where she and her neighbour got involved in a fight after the neighbour called her son a “low life criminal.” Their beef started the year before that actually, and things have never been the same. The O’Neil family accused Junior Khathi of being a criminal after he was found on the streets during lockdown and then sprayed water on him.

DJ Tira and his wife, Gugu Khathi are finding it difficult to accept the death of a close friend and brother, Mosa.

Taking to instagram, Gugu has been sharing several pictures of the businesswoman who passed away some days to remember him. Fans and followers including industry colleagues expressed condolence to the couple.

DJ Tira and wife mourn death of a loved one

DJ Tira and especially his wife, Gugu Khathi are devastated and heartbroken by the death of a close friend and brother, Mosa.

The young man who grooved with the couple and was like a family to Gugu passed away some days ago, and the businesswoman has been doing a daily remembrance of him with different post.

“Tomorrow is never guaranteed ? RIP Mosa. I have lost a brother. May God be with the April family through this difficult time. Alwehlanga lungehlanga,” Tira said.

Speedsta And DJ Tira Join 1s And 2s Season Six

It would seem that DJ Zinhle does not know the meaning of rest. The producer-DJ and businesswoman took to social media recently to announce that she is set to return to popular SABC 1 DJ talent search competition, 1s and 2s. The show is set to air its sixth season with DJ Zinhle at the helm.

This marks the second season that DJ Zinhle has returned to the show following her first judging stint as part of the 1s and 2s Season 5 panel. During the fifth season of the popular SABC 1 show, DJ Zinhle was part of the judging panel with popular producer-DJ and contentious Twitter personality, Prince Kaybee. But it seems like Prince Kaybee has opted to focus on promoting his own music, rather than return.

Therefore, with her announcement that she was set to return as a judge on 1s and 2s, DJ Zinhle announced her co-judges on the returning season of the show. It seems that SABC 1 has brought the big and controversial guns with the new season. The new judges set to join the Umlilo hitmaker are DJ Tira and Speedsta.

DJ Tira has not begun with his social media marketing trail on his upcoming television stint. However, it is easy to see why the SABC decided on the man to join DJ Zinhle. For years now, DJ Tira and SABC 1 have been behind the Come Duze New Year. However, since he moved his Fact Durban Rocks concert to a better paying channel, it was time for the public broadcaster to bring back Mr Makoya Bearings.

Speedsta on the other hand could not wait to share the news. The contentious social media personality has been itching to tell the news since earlier in the month. This is after, Speedsta initially had taken to Twitter to call out leading entertainment news and industry insider, Phil Mphela, telling him that he cannot wait to be featured in one his “Casting news,” post. At the time, Speedsta as much as he teased did not spill the beans. But that changed this week when he took to Twitter to make the news official.

DJ Tira is celebrating with his daughter, Chichi who turned 6 today.

The star took to his social media to share pictures of them together.

DJ Tira and Gugu bore Chichi in 2015 and she is growing so fast as expected.

He, however, celebrated her day with his followers.“Thank You God Almighty. Thank you Jesus. Happy 6th birthday @chichi_khathi,” he captioned Tira thanked God for making him celebrate this day with his beautiful baby girl.

DJ Tira bags a new TV gig

DJ Tira announces on social media that he will be starting a new TV job today. Taking to Instagram, the DJ shared a clean snap of himself and captioned it with the news, but he is yet to reveal details about the gig.

Fans congratulated him over the gig, believing he will do a good job.

Meanwhile, Tira has been flaunting a new Mercedes Benz of recent. He didn’t confirm it’s newly acquired, but he surely enjoys riding luxury.

In a recent post, the DJ showed off his luxurious whips.
