DJ Tira is the talk of the town right now after he has been accused of sleeping with DJ Hlo.

This is coming after the star posted a status on his Facebook and many of his fans came alleging him of sleeping with the popular DJ.

However, both the DJ’s are Durban-based and run in the same circles with the line of work they both do.

A fan attested to the speculation by putting it to DJ Tira he knows that he allegedly slept with DJ Hlo.

He continued to add fuel to the fire by claiming that DJ Tira is also sleeping with his other recording artists, the Qwabe twins.

DJ Tira has responded to the allegations by threatening to fight the fans and calling them all sorts of names.

DJ Hlo on the other hand is yet to respond to the alleged sexual relations with DJ.

Music producer and musician Mthokozisi Khathi known as Dj Tira or Makoya Bearings poured out his heart to President Cyril Ramaphosa in a video uploaded on Twitter. In this video Dj Tira is asking President Ramaphosa to ease the lockdown restrictions a little bit as they are dying of hunger.

Dj Tira said in his video: “We are suffering as artists and event organisers. When is the country opening? We have limitations in terms of numbers. We can only host 2000 people, which end up being 1500 as there are services providers like technicians, suppliers and promo girls. Everyone that works at the event cannot be sold a ticket.”

Makoya continued to say that they are used to hosting about 15 000 to 20 000 people. We believe he was referring to the Fact Durban Rocks event, as it is Durban’s biggest concert around December. Last year, due to the strict COVID-19 restrictions, the concert happened virtual.

Another follower asked since they video call each other, why is he telling them all these things. He said he remembers them being friend during the vaccine times.

AWARD-WINNING DJ Tira set social media on fire when he decided to rally behind maskandi artist Mthandeni “Igcokama Elisha” Manqele.

This as he encouraged his fans to watch his new reality show on SABC 1, titled uShuni kaMaskandi.

He wrote: “Don’t miss my homeboy’s show on SABC 1. Igcokama Elisha. Hlabisa boys.”

His post left mixed reaction as his followers assumed he was taking sides in maskandi battles.

The ongoing feud between Igcokama Elisha and Khuzani Mpungose is well-documented.

And, it is so bad that even maskandi fans are divided.

The fact that both of them have shows coming up did not settle the feud either, with Khuzani’s titled Khuzani Bo!

Sanele Zwane did not agree with the DJ’s stance.

He wrote: “But Tira, you are disappointing me. Malume, I wish you also posted about Khuzani because there’s too much fighting in this genre. Now we’ll never hear the end of it.”

Syabonga Mahlaba asked: “Can’t you see that Khuzani will not like this?”

But, Lungani Mzinyo commended Tira for not being jealous.

“That’s why you’re so successful – you simply don’t have jealousy. You have a good heart. I wish God can take you far and fulfil your dreams,” he wrote.

Mthiyane Kwanele was not impressed: “You’re two-faced. I loved and supported your music but since you’re Mthandeni’s fan, I want nothing to do with you.”

Dumo Lwamamfene added: “You clearly don’t know Mthandeni. You might be supporting him, but tomorrow he will be insulting you.”

Zethembe wrote: “Ekse Mtilimana, Khuzani is in ICU because you posted about Mthandeni. He is on a higher level of being Mr Mona (jealous).”

THE KZN man who painted DJ Tira’s face on his body says he’s been cyberbullied, but he’s not shaken.

Nhlonipho Mdletshe (27) from uMhlabuyalingana, KZN, shocked music fans when they saw his tattoo of Tira’s face on his left side of the chest on social media.

Nhlonipho opened up about his love for Tira’s music.

Speaking to Daily Sun, he said doing the tattoo did not mean he was mentally unstable.

“I’m not mad. Those backlashing me don’t know why I did this. Tira is my inspiration. He has helped a lot of artists with their careers. I’m talking about Joocy, Dladla Mshunqisi, Tipcee and many more who are now well-known. He’s selfless, and I think he’s not appreciated enough, hence I decided on this tattoo – it’s my way of appreciating him. When I look at it, I get inspired. It encourages me to help the poor,” said Nhlonipho.

He said that his girlfriend did not have a problem with the tattoo.

“She understood that I love music and Tira. She didn’t even demand to also have her tattoo on my body. She understood why I decided to do what I did, and she was very supportive when social media bashed me.”

He said that he had asked Tira to have a meeting with him.

“Meeting Tira will be my biggest achievement. When I spoke to him, he was nice and told me he’d get back to me. I hope he will get the time to meet with me. I can’t reveal why. But as much as I love music, I’m not planning to launch any career related to it. I’m not a musician – I’m just a fan who loves Tira and is inspired by him through helping people without expecting anything in return,” he added.

DJ Tira confirmed to Daily Sun that he would be meeting with Nhlonipho.

“Yes, I will meet him,” he said without elaborating on his thoughts about the matter.

Latest on neighbour who beat up DJ Tira’s wife Gugu until she was hospitalised

Cynthia O’Neil, the neighbour to Afrotainment boss and record producer Mthokozisi “DJ Tira” Khathi, is out on warning after allegedly assaulting the popular musician’s wife, Gugu.

O’Neil made a brief appearance at the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, where the matter was postponed to September 22.

National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane confirmed that O’Neil faces a charge of common assault and that the matter “was postponed for further investigations”.

Gugu, who is the complainant, was not asked to come to court.

The Khathis and O’Neils, who are neighbours at the upmarket Willowbrook Estate in Ruimsig, in the west of Johannesburg, had been at each other’s throats for some time leading up to the physical altercation.

Both parties laid charges of assault against each other at the Honeydew Police Station two years ago.

In the first incident, Gugu allegedly confronted the O’Neils at their home one evening in November 2019, accusing them of throwing an object at her son’s car.

The O’Neils asked her to leave their property, which led to an altercation that resulted in Gugu being pushed to the ground and dragged on the floor, injuring her leg and ending up in hospital in the process.

Gugu allegedly slapped O’Neil on the face during the altercation, leading to the two parties laying charges against each other.

In a separate incident, O’Neil’s husband, Benjamin, opened a case against DJ Tira at the same police station for allegedly contravening lockdown regulations last year.

Benjamin stated in his report that Tira and Anga “NaakMusiQ” Makubalo, an artist from the Afrotainment stable, were breaking Covid-19 regulations.

He also alleged that his neighbours were constantly hosting friends from outside of the area and visiting one another.
