She said she is sad that the company used the remake to avoid paying her.
“Nah. @fentybeauty just used a REMAKE of Midnight Starring with my voice, to avoid paying us for it. I’m sad but it’s the game I guess,” she tweeted.

DJ Maphorisa tweeted the Fenti Beauty video and captioned it: “Mara le baring mo ke cut n paste Siri Siri onketsang”

Busiswa has also tried to calm the storm, urging her followers to relax

South African singer-songwriter and poet Busiswa who was beaten up for cheating on her baby daddy speaks on new reality show Gqulu reveals her apprehension to expose her private life in a new reality show called Her Majesty: Busiswa.

Speaking to Sunday World at the Milorho Lodge Hiking Trail in North West where she is shooting travel scenes for the show, the queen of dance said she does like “chaos” in her personal space.

“The thing that I am most nervous about having a reality show is letting people into my actual house because I am an energy person.

“I love a good, positive, great smelling, happy, clean house and

I am worried about it being very chaotic every day and very busy because the crews are there. But also, I am worried about the public opinion about my house and my space. In my line of work, people want to criticise every part of you,” she said.

Gqulu is the third local celebrity to have her reality series on BET Africa, which will air on March 20. Previous reality shows on the channel showcased the lives of Boity Thulo and Khanyi Mbau.

The hitmaker recently made history when she collaborated with Beyonce on her critically acclaimed music project Black is King.

The 13-part local reality TV series serves as a visual companion to Gqulu’s musical journey – an ode to her lasting power, a celebration of her authenticity while capturing her journey in creating a visual album.

This is not the first time the singer has revealed her life to the public. She has released a documentary called Busiswa: An Unbreakable Story, which premiered at the African International Film Festival and is now showing on Showmax.

She explained the difficultly of being vulnerable in front of the camera after years of being reluctant to share anything.

“I’ve gotten to a point where after eight years in the industry, I am pretty comfortable to share anything. I’ve accepted that my life will be in the public eye anyway and I will accept whatever comes with it.

“I live honestly, truthfully and positively and I look forward to sharing my truth more than anything else.

“Over the years I’ve been reluctant to share anything but I’ve learnt that it is important to tell my own story and when I have nothing to hide. I am prepared to go there with the public by letting them into my private and spiritual life,” she said.

Monde Twala from BET said: “BET Africa is proud to continue celebrating black excellence on the continent and we are committed to bringing African audiences content that is culture-led, bold and relevant.”

Dancer and Gqom hitmaker, Busiswa was trolled recently on social media when she shared images of herself appeasing her ancestors with what looked like very expensive champagne.

She was first dragged for taking images while “appeasing” her ancestors, then dragged by her followers when they noticed a huge green bottle of Champopo next to the candles and imphepho.

The singer captioned her images on her Instagram with: “Spiritual alignment is a big flex! Don’t forget to take time out every now and find the centre. I’m visiting my hometown to do just that.”

While some of her followers were happy to see her appeasing her ancestors, others wondered why she’s not traditionally serving her ancestors with homemade beer and taking images as it’s a private ceremony:

“Every time we want to see them we can search deep in other dimensions within ourselves and find the real answers to who we really are and what we represent. Reign African woman, reign.”

“Camagu.”

“So your ancestors have upgraded from drinking umqonmbothi (homemade beer) to drinking champagne. Akere we’re our ancestors wildest dreams.”

“What is the camera doing in the holy place?”

“I don’t man to be forward on anything but you don’t take pictures in such a strong deep place.”

The musician was also trolled previously by The Queen actress, Dineo Langa on Twitter.

It all began when Langa took to Twitter to call out the Mpumalanga premier, Mtsweni-Tsipane for not wearing a mask at a funeral at minister Jackson Mthembu’s funeral, which the premier has publicly apologised for.

Dineo stated in her tweet that everyone should be held accountable for not wearing masks and everyone should follow regulations of the lockdown.

She tweeted: “Unfortunately for her, members of public office will be taken to task when breaking the law. There is a level of irony and reality at that moment. One that says taxpayers can get arrested for not wearing a mask but politicians won’t. Everyone must be called out.”

Then Busiswa who misunderstood Dineo’s tweet added her own opinions. The dancer assumed the actress was talking about the late Mthembu’s daughter, Thuli who was apparently also not wearing a mask.

Busiswa replied: “We all know for sure that grief hits us in horrendous & different ways. To bury your famous father within three days of learning of his passing is a trauma of a unique kind. You can’t be a school principal on ‘she wanted attention’ vibes. Covid is dealing everyone a sad goodbye.”

Dineo mopped the floor with Busiswa’s face and tweeted: “Take the L Sis. You read to respond and not to understand. This wasn’t about Thuli. This was about the Mpumalanga MP who ignored Covid-19 protocols. No-one is policing grief. We are calling out a member of government.”

Musician Busiswa Gqulu has gone home to appease her ancestors.

Yesterday she posted a video of herself in a black and white Xhosa traditional outfit at her home in Mthatha, Eastern Cape.

In the video, she excitedly said: “It’s important to wear your traditional outfit, burn impepho (incense) so that you can smell nice, make the ancestors and elders happy. Perhaps you might even get married.”

In another Instagram post, she wrote that she had visited her home to appease her ancestors.

“Spiritual alignment is a big flex! Don’t forget to take time out every now & find the centre. I’m visiting my hometown to do just that!!” she wrote.

In a photo that accompanied the post, she can be seen surrounded by colourful candles. In front of her there’s burning impepho, moet and notes.

The post attracted different opinions as tweeps questioned the expensive champagne instead of traditional beer.

However, some of her friends and fans congratulated her.

Media personality TT Mbha said: “Camagu.”

Ms Prie Mhlauli commented: “So your ancestors have upgraded from drinking umqombothi (traditional beer) to drinking champagne. Akere we’re our ancestors’ wildest dreams.”

Ashante Parker congratulated her and wrote: “Be firmly rooted and proud of your African spiritual alignment so that your spiritual compass can direct you to where you’re supposed to be without getting lost. That is an African prayer.”

“What is the camera doing in the holy place,” asked Mthethwa.

“I don’t mean to be forward or anything but you don’t take pictures in such a strong deep place,” wrote Tsoetsi Mpendulo.

“I told my wife Makazi is going to be a hit before you released it when I saw the inspiration that led you, propelled you to go out of your limits and show the world that Africa is rich in everything that one could ever imagine. This journey that you travelled will also inspire other young stars not to give up and to help them realise that our ancestors are not demons, but the great souls that live within us.

“Every time we want to see them we can search deep in other dimensions within ourselves and find the real answers to who we really are and what we represent. Reign African woman, reign,” commented Phuluso Paris.

Happy birthday, HubStar.”
