Skeem Saam actress, Pebetsi Matlaila popularly known for portraying Mokgadi Matloga is not opposed to the idea of getting married again but wants to heal first.

“Who knows maybe the 2nd time around, I will experience, what they call happily ever after. For now… I am allergic to any Indoda.”

In September 2021, the actress opened up about the abuse she suffered at the hands of her ex.

“There is a lot that has been going on in my life in the year 2021. I personally believe that the devil is after me.

“I encountered severe near-death abuse from somebody that I thought I would spend forever with.”

Her fans speculated that she was talking about her husband.

Towards the end of 2020, Pebetsi announced that she had got hitched just weeks after taking to social media to slam the union of marriage.

Sharing the news on social media Pebetsi revealed that she was nervous and thanked everyone who had shown her support.

“I just wanted to take this moment to thank you all for the wonderful wishes and blessings and the vote of confidence that I got as well as the encouraging words.

“Also to those ladies who sent me messages about marriage and how you have to make it your own and not compare it to anybody else’s, even though I was scared of taking this new phase of mine, thank your messages. I saw them and I really appreciate them,” she said in a video posted on social media.

By God’s grace, she survived all the challenges that came her way. Her doctors told her that it was a miracle that she survived.

“God’s promise is that: No weapon formed against me shall prosper. I like to joke and say, I am one of God’s favourites. Because of his constant favour upon my life. Some may just look at it as pure luck. But God always favours me in ways that I even get surprised. This near-death experience, which doctors are calling a miracle, said to me… God is not done with me yet. I wanted to get comfortable and complacent, God shook me and woke me up, literally,” she shared.

These days Pebetsi is focused on her thriving acting career and being a great mother to her two children.

Skeem Saam actress Pebetsi Matlaila, popularly known as Mokgadi on the SABC1 soapie, has taken to social media to share that 2021 has been a tough year for her. The actress has been scarce on social media and has explained that she needed to get away for “spiritual maintenance”. She added that she’s faced one hardship after another this year and needed time to properly deal with everything.

“There is a lot that has been going on in my life in the year 2021. I personally believe that the devil is after me after all that I have gone through this year,” she said, pouring her heart out on Instagram. Pebetsi opened up about the alleged abuse she suffered from her ex, unemployment, and also her near-death experience.

Pebetsi reflected on how this year has been extremely challenging for her, mentioning that she’s been on the brink of losing her life several times.

Pebetsi took to her social media to slam those criticizing her about her weight. The star has been on maternity leave following her pregnancy to spend some time with her newborn.

In the post she shared, the star gave a reminder of how she look like 2months ago letting her fans know she is a fresh mother.

Pebetsi added that it took her 9 months to put on the baby weight so she is not going to subject herself to the pressures of society to lose the weight right away.

She further added that such expectations are unrealistic and she will not resort to dangerous methods just to lose weight.

Skeem Saam actress Pebetsi Matlaila recently took to social media to show off her newborn baby. She shared a snap of her daughter fast asleep with her husband.

Pebetsi, Popularly known for portraying Mokgadi on SABC 1’s Skeem Saam, has taken some time off from the soapie to take care of her newborn. She has not confirmed when she’ll be returning on set.

The newlywed then shared a video of herself sharing some words of encouragement with those going through difficulties.

“How you look at the challenging moments of life where everything seems hopeless, like there’s no light at the end of the tunnel and it feels like you’re fighting a losing battle every day, how you look at those challenging moments will determine your outcome.” She shared. “Are you looking at them as punishments from your past mistakes or are you looking at those challenging moments as a test of your faith, or are you looking at them as a preparation for the next level of your life?”

Proving that being in the entertainment requires having a thick skin, Skeem Saam actress Pebetsi Matlaila took to Instagram to share her reaction to being trolled by a security guard and taking it with a pinch of salt.

Pebetsi, who plays Mokgadi on SABC1’s popular soapie, took her followers inside a funny incident that happened to her recently, when an unnamed car guard trolled her for not looking “as pretty” in real life as she does on TV.

In a video she posted of herself telling the story, the heavily pregnant actress explained how she went out to find food to feed her cravings. Pebetsi said just as she was about to leave, she noticed that her parking ticket was missing and went to the parking lot to look for it. Her baby bump made it hard for her to look under the car, so she called the guard to assist.

However, instead of helping Pebetsi, the guard recognised her and started saying: “I think I’ve seen you somewhere … are you Mokgadi from Skeem Saam … your son Noah is a troublemaker”, to which the actress eventually replied and said, “Yes, I am Mokgadi … could you please help me find the ticket … look under the car?”

Pebetsi told her 300k followers that the guard was definitely distracted and instead of helping out, had a pressing question for the actress that left her shook.

“Why on TV, you look prettier than when I see you now?” he asked.

Pebetsi took the “trolling” with a pinch of salt and laughed at herself, though she admitted that the comment did sting her a lil.

The comments section of the video filled up with people telling Pebetsi not to feel bad because she’s one of the prettiest people they know and after venting, the newlywed decided to call her hubby, who she said always tells her just how beautiful she is.

ebetsi announced back in January 2021 that she was expecting her second bundle of joy.

The actress got married late last year in a beautiful traditional ceremony and just months later, her marriage has been blessed with an additional member to the family.

The smile on her face in that Instagram video said enough about the joy she was feeling in that moment, but just in case it wasn’t obvious for her thousands of fans, Pebetsi wrote a brief caption expressing her excitement over the bundle of joy she’s carrying.

Pebetsi who plays Mokgadi on Skeem Saam said that she received a helluva lot e-mails, direct messages and calls rom women reaching out and some who wanted to drop some pearls of wisdom when it comes to marriage. She thanked each and every one of them for assuring her that marriage is not all that bad.

She said “I Do” to her man in a beautiful wedding ceremony blessed with the presence of family, immediate and extended. However they initially wanted something very small and intimate.

Her friend from Capricorn FM, Hellen Seabi let the cat out of the bag first when she congratulated her friend for the major step she took.

“We love happy endings! I love you to infinity…. Today was nothing short of amazing, I’m at peace knowing you’re in good hands….. Forever my Bestie, mother to my God child !!! My heart is at peace , I go to bed content because God. Ko rata faktup!!! #Vantoeka …. Skeem Sam sak’dala,” she wrote.
