The last 24 hours have been a rollercoaster for Khanyi Mbau and her partner, businessman Kudzai Terrence Mushonga, after he alleged that she went missing during their trip in Dubai.

Mbau, however, seems to be okay after her man posted several Instagram stories and videos expressing how disappointed he was she didn’t inform him about her flight back to South Africa.

The actress and socialite’s return was met with relief from her family, with her brother and media personality Lasizwe Dumbuza posting on Twitter that their family had visited their father’s grave, who passed away last year.

“Dear Dad, your daughter Khanyi is home, safe and okay,” Lasizwe wrote.

Mbau, on the other hand, seems to want things to get back to some form of normality after all the drama, as she posted a pic admiring her new hair while everyone was still trying to understand the drama.

‘Are we breaking up?’
Mushonga took to social media to say he was relieved after his “sweetheart” texted him that she had returned to Johannesburg. Mbau even posted her plane tickets showing her flight details, dismissing reports she went “missing.”

However, Mushonga says the lengths he went through to find out her whereabouts made him “go crazy”.

Tearing up during an Instagram live stream on Tuesday evening, Mushonga said: “After all we have went through, I don’t know if this is the part where we are breaking up? So all this time I am going crazy saying I can’t find Khanyi… We didn’t fight, we didn’t argue…I should have known.”

The Zimbabwean businessman went on to reveal more details of how much he allegedly pays towards Mbau’s lifestyle but he later deleted his posts.

“What did I do wrong for you to turn against me? Even the place you sleeping at tonight in SA [and] where your daughter is… Baby you know I handled that! I pay for everything.”

Mushonga also shared a picture of a conversation between himself and Mbau, claiming she only had roughly R3,000 in her account before she left Dubai.

NPA dismisses DJ Fresh and Euphonik’s case against alleged rape victim

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has dismissed the case of crimen injuria opened by Thato “DJ Fresh” Sikwane and DJ Themba “Euphonik” Nkosi in April against an alleged rape victim known on Twitter as Nampree.

In a statement, NPA spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana said they had decided not to prosecute the charge of criminal defamation as they believe there would no possibility of a successful prosecution.

“The NPA can confirm a decision not to institute prosecution based on charges of criminal deformation was taken. The NPA is of the view there are no prospects of a successful criminal prosecution.

“The attorneys have been informed accordingly.”

The two men opened the case against the woman earlier this year after she alleged the DJs had drugged and raped her in 2011 at a chillas (small party) she attended with a friend, who was apparently invited by one of the DJs.

Speaking to a local publication, the woman said she welcomed the decision to drop the case. She said she would be going to jail for simply stating her truth if the NPA decided to prosecute.

“I welcome the decision by the NPA because it declined the case twice, even after they appealed. Should they have not declined, I would have been sentenced. I’d have a criminal records for simply stating my truth,” she said.

The DJs have been mired in controversy after the woman accused them of rape in a post on Twitter.

In an interview , the woman confirmed she had opened a case with the Sunnyside police station on January 13.

In February, the NPA said the rape case against the two DJs had been dismissed due to “insufficient evidence”.

“With regards to the DJs Fresh and Euphonik matter, the docket was presented to the prosecutor. Upon perusal of all the available evidence in the docket, a decision not to prosecute was taken. There are no prospects of successful prosecution on the available evidence because the evidence is insufficient,” Lumka explained.

Actress Lusanda Mbane (Boniswa) on leaving Scandal! – This is whats next for her

Actress Lusanda Mbane left her corporate job to pursue her acting career when she joined Scandal! in 2016 as Boniswa, but now that her character has died on the show, she’s looking to focus on growing her business.

“I knew I wanted to stay five years because I wanted to grow the character, but about two years into it I started thinking the five years wouldn’t happen because that’s when she (the character) started getting dark. We decided this year would be the year I’m going to close the chapter on Boniswa,” she said.

Playing a villainous character was a “taxing exercise” that required her to dig deep into her own emotions.

“At some points in that journey I’d battle to come out of her,” she admitted.

“The journey for me started when I had to find Boniswa within me. To find darkness and give it truth is such a taxing exercise. You tap into parts of yourself you don’t want to tap into. I found her very emotionally taxing.”

Lusanda said while she enjoyed being a part of the production, she was glad she’d be able to begin another chapter and focus her energy on her business.

“I also wanted to start with something else. I’s been a beautiful full circle for me that I’m happy to leave intact, I’m happy to leave in it’s greatness. I’m proud and will probably miss it. I felt the business was so close to my heart that I wanted to give it its time but I couldn’t because I was committed to this contract.

“The blessing in the ending of Boniswa is I could take two or three months uninterrupted where I will be able to take this business from something that people already recognise into something synonymous when you mention SA black brands. I’m trying to get it there.”

Lusanda launched a clothing line called Zazi. Zithande. Zithembe. in August 2020 and wants to focus her energy on it.

“It started to become something I could grow into a legacy, it started to become something that I — some day — want to handover to my children, I started to be extremely intentional about it and found I battled to do so when I was on set 12 a day. You find that you start treating it as a side hustle.”

Though she might be putting her acting career on pause, the actress said she looks forward to being back on screen and hopefully behind the mic once she’s grown her business.

“Acting for me is a bug that will consistently come back and bite me if I don’t give it the space it deserves. When I’ve created the foundation for next level, then I can give my time to my first love, which is acting and maybe give my time to my other first love, which is radio. These are all things I’m hoping will happen.”

Huge blow for DJ Fresh and Euphonik as rape accuser wins

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has dropped the case of crimen injuria opened by Euphonik (Themba Mbongeni Nkosi) and DJ Fresh (Thato Sikwane) back in April.

The duo opened the case against a woman known by her Twitter handle @nampree, who alleged at the beginning of 2021 the DJs had drugged and raped her in 2011.

She opened a rape case earlier this year but it was subsequently dropped by the NPA due to “insufficient evidence”.

There has been a constant war of words between DJ Fresh, Euphonik and Nampree over the past couple of months and as a result, the DJs opened the crimen injuria case against her, after her case of rape against them was dropped

NPA spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana confirmed the decision not to institute prosecution, ” based on charges of criminal defamation.

“The NPA is of the view that there are no prospects of a successful criminal prosecution. The Attorney’s have been informed accordingly,” she said.

The legal organisation representing Nampree announced earlier on Tuesday, via Twitter, that the NPA had dismissed the DJs’ case.

“We welcome this decision and stand firmly against the use of such charges in silencing victims/survivors,” the tweet read.

Nampree said the NPA’s decision had allowed her to speak out again.

Women who have opened cases or are involved in legal matters against DJ Fresh were happy with the decision made by the NPA.

Radio host Penny Lebyane said their “ancestors heard” their prayers, while controversial poet Ntsiki Mazwai congratulated Nampree.

Menzi Ngubane's book to help young boys and girls distributed to schools

When TV and film actor Menzi Ngubane died five months ago, he was working on a book to assist young boys and girls about life’s challenges.

Titled Menzi Ngubane Life Book, was revealed on Saturday when his foundation and BrightSpark Foundation SA made a donation to Ethembeni Home in Johannesburg as part of his birthday celebrations.

Welcome Witbooi, the founder of BrightSpark Foundation SA who worked closely with Ngubane, ensured the actor’s wish to see the book reach the hands of the children happened. He said the book will be distributed to grade 9, 10 and 11 pupils at Northview High School in Balfour, Johannesburg. He said they planned to distribute the book to all schools in SA.

“When Menzi died, we were working on the book. The book is based on the lessons Menzi wanted us to learn as young men. It helps boys and girl deal with various challenges, including bullying and home issues. The book also touches on body shaming, which is done by girls. When he died, I was angry at him and I know he did not choose to die. He left this huge responsibility but I happy that his family is supportive in achieving his goal.”

Witbooi said when he met Ngubane, he realised that they had the same vision and ethos. He said Ngubane was passionate about fighting gender-based violence and getting men to fight the scourge . The duo’s friendship gave birth to a project called Menzi Ngubane Mentorship Programme 21.

“What was close to his heart was the issue of gender-based violence and mentoring boys and girls. We started the Mentorship Programme 21 and Menzi involved boys from 14 to 21. Menzi believed that a 21-year-old still needs a lot of mentoring.”

DJ Zinhle’s Big Day Is Finally Here

DJ Zinhle’s big day has finally arrived as Africa’s number 1 DJ will be launching her new jewellery and accessories store, Era By DJ Zinhle store at the Mall Of Africa today.

The expecting mother has been counting down to this day for the longest time now and it has finally arrived. DJ Zinhle is heavily pregnant so we can imagine her exhaustion but she is super proud of her team for the work they have put in, making sure that the build up to their store opening ran smooth.

Fans and potential clients can make their way to the store launch today at 12:30. Speaking about her new baby, Zinhle says, “I am super excited about our new flagship store at The Mall Of Africa. This is a very big deal for my team and I. In a time where there has been so much loss, so many setbacks and hardships, I realised that it is important to take time and celebrate every victory along the way.”

“It may sound crazy but 8 years ago, no one wanted to work with an ambitious DJ from Dannhauser. Even a weekly appearance on national TV didn’t convince them that my brand and I were quiet worth the risk. They judged who I was at the time and couldn’t see who I could become at the time,” she continues.

“I had to shift my focus, I stopped looking for partnership instead I went out and looked for ownership. It wasn’t as easy and powerful as I make it sound in fact I had to work harder than I ever had. There was blood sweat tears and a lot of life lessons in between,” says Zinhle.

She then goes on to relay the purpose of Era By DJ Zinhle, saying it was intended to empower women, and she realised that the only way that was going to happen is if they were also left inspired. “The biggest investments was in ourselves.”

She then advised people who wish to become a business mogul like her, “Start where you are, start with you. Play the cards you are dealt and bet on yourself. Don’t wait for someone else to make it easy for you, throw yourself in every aspect of your business. Don’t just think about it be about it. Don’t focus on being unsure, use your energy to make it happen make that move and don’t be afraid to go the long way,” advises Zinhle.

Actress Eve Rasimeni desperate to find love

Actress Eve Rasimeni has decided to find love in an unconventional way.

She has joined Showmax’s new dating show Temptation Island South Africa in her attempt to find romance.

Eve, known for her roles in South African productions like Suidooster, Z’bondiwe, Thola and 7de Laan, will now be gracing the screens as a contestant on the dating show.

Eve, together with rapper Gigi Lamayne, comedian Tats Nkonzo and reality TV star MJ Maponya, have joined the show to find love. The first episode has been released on the streaming service and more episodes will drop every Thursday until 3 November.

Eve told SunBuzz her friend convinced her to join the show.

“My best friend told me about the show because she said one of us has to be in a relationship.

“She said people love my personality and I would do great. And I thought I have nothing to lose because even the traditional way of finding love isn’t working for me. And maybe I can get love from the show.”

She said her dating life before the show was a mess.

“It has been a rollercoaster, so much that I can count a few relationships that have been meaningful and genuine.

“Sometimes you find people, but they are not yours, with some, you find out you are not alone. My relationships never go anywhere,” said Eve.

“I have, however, tried online dating. Actually, my longest relationship, which ended right before I joined Temptation Island, was with someone I met on Tinder. That relationship was amazing and I saw that there are still good guys out there,” she said.

Eve said the experience of being in the show was a learning curve.

They have finished filming.

“Without giving too much away, my experience was life changing. As much as I was looking for love, I also reflected on myself in a spiritual manner and I walked away with so much. I came back with a whole new confidence and as a new person. I got to experience who I am, especially in a relationship. I also met a lot of good people there,” she said.

The actress said viewers will not expect the show to go the way it will go.

“The plot twists are crazy. People will expect something, and it will change unexpectedly. For my journey, I did not expect the way I ended up. People are going to enjoy it, and some will criticise us,” she said.
