Thembi Seete remembers her late mother with a sweet post

Thembi Seete has taken to her social media to remember her mother one year after her passing. In 2021, the star announced her mother’s passing through her Instagram. Rest in peace Mom. This time, on this day, last month I lost my mom. The hardest thing in my life I ever had to deal with,” she said. Well, it’s one year already and she is still sad about losing her.

Thembi said she is grateful for the time she spent with her mother before her passing. She wrote: “Today marks exactly a year since my mum‘s passing. Time goes by quickly. It still feels like it happened yesterday.
Even though my most profound sadness of losing her, I’m grateful that I got to spend time with my mother. We stayed together from the beginning until the last day. I’m thankful for the prayers, the teachings, and the love.

“All That I am today, she prayed for me and believed in me, guys. I shared everything with her my most profound thoughts, my fears, my achievements, and my dreams. Here I am crying again and wearing her maroon gown And feeling her warm hug. Mom, I hope you’re okay and getting everything you need. Know that I love you, and We miss you so much. 02-07-53 21-07-21

Thembi Seete stuns on True Love magazine cover

Thembi Seete is excited for being the cover star of TrueLove magazine, February/March issue. So honoured and excited to be on the cover of @truelovemagazine. I am in love with the cover,” she said.

The actress wore an all-white outfit at the launching of the cover and she was surrounded by friends and supporters at the event.

In the magazine, Thembi opened up about her long-term fame, motherhood, and why she doesn’t have a Twitter account.

Thembi Seete started as a member of the Kwaito group Boom Shaka, mixing music and activism during the apartheid era. Their debut single, ‘It’s About Time,’ was a banger during the 1990s.

The group broke up in 2000, and she went on to release her single Lollipop.

Seete is not shy to challenge herself and take on new roles. From 2000, she had a long list of appearances on television shows with her latest role coming as Gladys in Mzansi Magic’s Gomora.

While Seete is famous in media circles, she is also known for having a glowing skin that doesn’t seem to age. Soon after her Idols SA appearance, many of her fans started questioning how she managed to look young at 44.

She took to Instagram to explain her formula of looking younger. Seete admitted to having gone for an anti-ageing treatment in what appeared to be an advertisement for the medical centre she mentioned. She might be cashing on her looks too!

Thembi Seete has announced her role as Gladys has been nominated at the Royalty Soapie Awards as the Best Actress.

The star went on to urge her fans to vote for her.

Thembi Seete speaks on almost quitting acting

Actress and musician Thembi Seete, who has been in the entertainment industry for decades, recently opened up about how she almost quit acting.

Currently playing the character of Gladys Dlamini on Mzansi Magic’s much-loved drama series Gomora, Thembi took to social media to share this.

“Four years ago, I was at the point where I thought to myself that I will never act again because of a bad experience. I’m not going to get into details, but I had lost confidence and stopped believing in myself,” she said.

The award-winning musician said during that period when she was at her lowest, she bumped into late TV producer and actor Shona Ferguson. He asked her if she would ever consider acting again, and she responded that she would only do so if it were his production.

Thembi went on to share that her love for storytelling came after she shot Kings of Joburg, a Netflix series, where Shona also encouraged her to consider joining the cast of Gomora.

“Gomora came through shortly after Kings of Joburg. Shona gave me a call and said: ‘I know how you feel about long contracts. I can’t give you anything right now, but you have to do Gomora because those two are my boys and they are damn good. Trust me and take it. They are good people, don’t worry’,” she said.

Thembi, who recently lost her mum, went on to further describe Shona as respectful and loving.
