“Whether I like it or not, the loss I experienced is in the past and what I’m trying to build is my future. It was a tough pill to swallow but I pray and keep it moving. South African actress and singer, Simphiwe Ngema opens up on her biggest fear in a recent Instagram post.

The star says failure isn’t her biggest fear but giving up is.

In a brief caption, she explicated her revelation.

“My biggest fear has never been to fail. My biggest fear is giving up. Giving up means you’ve lost all hope and hope is what keeps us going. Simz Ngema calls out government over loadshedding

Actress and singer Simz Ngema took to Instagram to voice her frustrations over the energy crisis in South Africa. The popular media personality was inspired to speak up after watching her friend struggle to power his small business during loadshedding. Loadshedding remains a frustration for many South Africans, but small businesses in particular face devastating losses and challenges. Simz did not hold back as she criticised the government for not addressing these challenges. Here’s what she said.

SIMZ NGEMA ADDRESSING ENERGY CRISES
In her Instagram reel shared on Tuesday, Simz Ngema stated that the government is failing to address the energy crises. In her video, which has over 137,000 views, began with her voicing her frustrations after visiting her friend’s hair salon.

“I went to my friend’s salon to do my hair and there was load shedding. I watched him struggle to get fuel for his generator,” she said. She added that her friend was trying to make a living for himself, rather than relying on opportunities from the government: “He’s not waiting for opportunities from the government, yet the government is failing.”

Simz highlighted that the government is focused on campaigning, rather than focusing on giving South Africans hope that loadshedding is really going to end. “All we want is for the government to supply citizens with the electricity that they are paying for. Yes, these conversations are boring…but we need to have these conversations to hold our government accountable.”

Her video received positive and controversial feedback from her followers who also aired their views on loadshedding. While some agreed with Simz that the government needs to address the energy crises among small businesses, others focused on voting for next year’s election.

LOADSHEDDING’S IMPACT ON SMALL BUSINESS
Several studies have shown that loadshedding has impacted small businesses in South Africa. Townships and rural communities are the most affected as they have limited access to alternate sources of energy to fuel businesses. The ‘Impact of loadshedding on small businesses in the township economy 2023 report’ stated that 64% of small business have to halt their business operations during loadshedding.

The report also states that loadshedding not only affects business, but also the mental health and resilience of business owners. Loadshedding is currently suspended to Friday after a week of increased generation capacity, with Stage 3 being implemented from 16:00 until 05:00 on Friday.

Simz Ngema’s late husband and actor Dumi Masilela dragged into Thabo Bester saga

Mzansi actress Simz Ngema has been trending all week as South Africans dissect the now-deleted statement she released regarding her visit to Thabo Bester in prison. according to the Muvhango star, she went to prison to demand that Thabo Bester who she was introduced to as TK Motsepe pay her for work she did for his 21 Century media company.

Social media users have poked holes in the statement which she eventually deleted. And now some Tweeps have come to her defence especially against her late husband Dumi Masilela being dragged into the scandal.

Earlier this week Simphiwe “Simz” Ngema posted then deleted a statement explaining why she had visited Facebook rapist Thabo Bester in prison.

Despite deleting the statement, social media users have not stopped discussing it with some even insinuating that her visit to the prison had something to do with her husband’s 2018 murder.

“This Simphiwe Ngema situation with Thabo Bester makes me wonder what really happened to her husband, who really killed him and why?” wrote one person.

Jumping to Sims’s defence one person wrote that it was insensitive to involve her late husband in the matter.

“LEAVE DUMI OUT OF THIS. You are being insensitive. We all saw what Simz went through. Being a widow at 27 is painful. YOU ARE NOT GOING TO DO THIS TO HER.”

Actress and media personality Simphiwe Ngema has broken her silence after reports that she is the well-known celebrity who allegedly visited Thabo Bester in prison.

Initially, there were reports that businesswoman Shuawn Mkhize was the one who appeared in a prison record of people who visited Bester.

However, her name was cleared after she slammed the journalist who made the allegations. Mkhize also shared at the time that she did not even know who Bester is. After Mkhize poured cold water over the reports, Ngema’s name came up and was associated with the visit to Bester in jail.

Simz Ngema bags new acting role on 1Magic’s 365 days. The actress plays Rea, in 1Magic’s new miniseries, 365 Days, set to begin airing on April 3. Speaking to TshishaLIVE, Simz details her role, and lessons learned through the character.

“She is a go-getter who doesn’t let anything stand in her way and she is willing to do anything to make sure her business succeeds. Vusi is just a guy who is enjoying life. He is from a well-off family and he is used to getting everything he wants. Meeting Rea teaches him a lot of lessons,” Simz tells TshisaLIVE.

Ngema says she’s being intentional in preparing herself for the role by reading other scripts that has roles similar to hers. She further expresses gratitude to her support system.

“I am blessed to have a lot of support from my partner, my sisters and my parents. They really take good care of me and help out with my son. I also make sure that I take breaks. My health is just as important as my career.

“I think a lot of us forget to take care of ourselves. Everyone just wants to make money. I make sure I go to the spa every month, I go for facials every month and pamper days. I also pray a lot and go to church. I make sure I take care of myself physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

Having a child is the most beautiful thing in the world – Simz Ngema

Simphiwe Ngema is excited about motherhood. The actress penned down a note about the value of being a mother while slamming the society’s stigma. We grow up being told that when a woman has a child she “loses” value, it’s a “turn off” to men that would want to date her and her lobola will be taken down because she has a child. Simz Ngema confirms she’s back together with her baby daddy, Tino

South African television actress Simphiwe Ngema has taken to Instagram to gush over her baby daddy, Tino Chinyani.

Tino recently confirmed that they have rekindled their love after breaking up in 2021. Tino shared a series of rather cozy images of them that left many people in awe.

Taking to her Instagram timeline, Simz posted a sarcastic caption addressing naysayers. She jokingly said that if she likes she could post another breakup post. Simz said they are okay now with her baby daddy and said gushed over him.

In early 2021, Tino Chinyani caused a stir online after he shared photos of himself at what appeared to be his wedding.

The model was dressed in a sharp black tuxedo and his dashing “bride” who happened to be model Sadia Sallie was dressed in a beautiful wedding gown and had a bouquet of flowers to go with it.

Sadie later took to Twitter set the record straight. She put it on record that they did not get married.
