Even ahead of the premiere of the film, Minnie had conducted an interview on 94.7 with Relebogile Mabotja. During the interview, Relebogile asked Minnie what was the real reason behind her divorce.

Unfortunately, while Relebogile’s question was direct, Minnie’s response to the question left many asking, “What?” This is as Minnie seemed to enjoy the scenic route to answering the question as she did not share exactly why the marriage had to end.

Instead, she blamed the end of her marriage on having married Mr. Jones at 26 years old, which she now thinks was too young of an age to marry. As such, it seems that Minnie was trying to explain that she got married when she did not know who she was, and marriage further complicated that journey for her.

But given how roundabout Minnie went to answer the question, when the podcast episode landed on social media. It is safe to say that tweeps and cyberbullies were dragging Minnie for filth as they suggested that her inability to directly answer a question could do with the allegations of Minnie’s promiscuity during her marriage, which she has denied in the past.

In recent years Minnie Dlamini has hogged headlines with her whirlwind relationships from Itumeleng Khune to Quinton Jones. However, the media personality is topping trends after her interview on DJ Sbu’s WAW What A Week Podcast made rounds on social media.

The media personality took to her Itumeleng Khune’s lobola rumours to rest. Dlamini and Khume were once dubbed Mzansi’s power couple before they called it quits in 2014. However, after their fallout, rumour mills alleged that they called it quits after Khune allegedly paid lobola for Dlamini. The two have often blue-ticked the daring rumours that have taken a toll on their careers for years.

Undoubtedly, Dlamini has been camera-shy about the high-profile affair that has often thrust her into the top trends. She left Mzansi puzzled when she shed more light on her alleged lobola with Khune on the podcast. Speaking to DJ Fresh, the bubbly media personality revealed that it was not true and their affair was not as hectic as many thought.

The two dated for three years before calling it quits. In recent years she has often talked about her relationship with Khune. In the wake of the viral podcast, snippet Mzansi has since been connecting the dots on her love life that has often thrust her into top trends. A year ago, she hogged headlines when she confirmed her divorce from Quinton Jones after being married for five years. The SowetanLive revealed that the two were heading for divorce after their fallout.

Unconfirmed reports have it that their marriage was marred with cheating allegations; however, the two have since rubbished the claims.

Minnie Dlamini And Itumeleng Khune Weren’t Traditionally Married

Minnie Dlamini is currently on a promotional tour for her newly released rom-com feature film The Honeymoon. As such, the newly divorced media darling and aspiring actress has been delving into depth about her private life, which includes details about her exes.

One of her most well-recognised exes is none other than soccer star Itumeleng Khune. This is as their relationship happened during the height when Minnie was still considered an IT girl in the entertainment industry. At the height of their on and off again relationship it was speculated that the two dated between 2011 and 2014.

This is as they called off their relationship in 2014 after it was reported that the two were engaged. Moreover, that at the time of them calling it quits, Itumeleng had paid a hefty lobola price as it was reported that Minnie was a virgin at the time.

However, Minnie is setting the record straight in terms of the misconceptions that have taken place since then.

Minnie Dlamini and Itumeleng Khune weren’t traditionally married

In customary law, it is believed that once a groom pays lobola for their betrothed then the couple is technically legally married. As such, it would mean that during Minnie and Itumeleng’s engagement, if he had paid lobola for her then the two were traditionally married.

A matter that Minnie clarified when making an appearance during DJ Fresh’s recently created podcast WAW: What A Week. This is as she addressed what she believes is the biggest misconception held by the public about her. She addressed the matter by stating that:

“That worst misconception is that Khune lobola’ed me, that, that is the worst one. I hate it, I hate it! People still think it’s true!”

Moreover, in her interview, Minnie addressed her marriage to Quinton Jones through side remarks. From suggesting that she was too young to have committed to marriage as she did not know who she was as a woman at 26 years old when she got married.

To also suggesting that since her divorce, she has turned into a single parent who takes care of their son 99.9 percent of the time.

It would seem that Minnie is highlighting just how toxic her marriage was. This is after she had recently suggested that she was married to a narcissist. As reported at the time:

Recently taking to her Instagram Stories, Minnie seemed to hint at the reason for her divorce. This is as she shared a post which talks about dating, specifically marrying a man who is a narcissist who uses “love bombing” as a tactic to keep the woman they are in a relationship within a toxic cycle in their relationship.

Love Bombing is a term defined as, “a controlling and manipulative tactic most often used by narcissists and abusive people. They seek to quickly obtain affection and attention before tearing their victims down. They may appear charming and exciting in the beginning, but this usually fades away and is replaced with emotional abuse.”

When people over-sensationalise, over-dramatise, create lies about you, it’s one of the most painful things because I can’t shut from the rooftops to everyone and explain my truth. At the end of the day, I also feel as though I don’t need to. As long as my close family and friends know what the truth is and what is going on, those are the relationships and those are the people that I feel I owe an explanation to. Everyone else will just figure it out when they figure it out,” she said.

Minnie said her marriage ended long before she announced on social media. People need to understand that when a marriage ends, it doesn’t end at the announcement or the day before the announcement, it ends long before that.”

“By the time I announced, I had gone through a lot of the processes already. At the time of the announcement, it felt like a really big relief and a weight off my shoulders,” she added.

The producer said she never foresaw being a divorcee as she always desired to raise her kids the same way she was raised. I never imagined getting divorced. I always thought that I would raise my kids how I was raised. I just felt like for me, timing was off, I felt like I didn’t know myself. Furthermore, I went on to further lose myself in my marriage.

“I think the failure part is on my part from not being able to pick up what was right for me at a time before I went all the way… You know, in relationships you always know, when you look back, you’re like ‘that was a red flag, and that was a red flag… you’re a red flag!’ I’m not pushing the blame in any way, shape, or form but you’re either a red flag and you’re not acknowledging it or they have red flags and you’re not acknowledging it,” Minnie concluded

Minnie Dlamini Denies Co-Owning The Mansion Club

Minnie Dlamini says she isn’t the owner of The Mansion bar and lounge which she launched in 2022. In a recent interview with City Press, the TV personality denies ownership of the establishment, “No, I’m not the owner,” she said. In 2022, Minnie teased the project and later launched it. She was elated about venturing into hospitality and she claimed ownership back then.

“Spring is the season of rebirth, so I saw it only fitting that I introduce you to my latest business venture @themansionsa,” she wrote.

“After a few years of turmoil in the industry because of lockdown I want the space to be a place where we put money in the pockets of our artists by booking incredible DJs and performers and celebrating the best of our incredible entertainment industry. It’s all about the vibes at the Mansion.

Minnie Dlamini plans to renovate her childhood home

Mzansi’s diamond, Minnie Dlamini, is currently single since her divorce from Quinton Jones. As such the former Mrs Jones has been hard at work at re-establishing herself as one of the “IT” girls of the industry after the end of her marriage.

Taking to Instagram recently, Minnie shared that she is working with leading home store Seno SA. However, the work she is doing with the store is not for her own home. Instead, she shared that she is working with the brand in order to renovate her family home.

Media personality Minnie Dlamini has been secretly working on a movie and finally the cat is out of the bag. Dlamini will debut the big screen in her new movie The Honeymoon alongside comedian Tumi Morake and actress Kajal Bagwadeen.

You know her as a sports presenter, TV presenter, a mother but now you can add actress of the big screen as Minnie Dlamini features in the new movie, The Honeymoon. The movie centers around three friends Tumi Morake as Noks, Kajal Bagwadeen as Kat and Minnie Dlamini as Lu.

The movie is directed by Bianca Isaac and it tells a story about three friends, Noks, Kat and Lu who finds themselves in a predicament where on them gets dumped ahead of her wedding, and the trio decides to turn things around and head to a getaway in Zanzibar, which would have been the suppose-to-wed couple’s honeymoon destination.

According to IOL, in an interview Minnie Dlamini admitted that the character of Lu really spoke to her and related so much to it. Dlamini is overly excited to be featured in this feature film as this is her first project of this magnitude.

“We’ve all felt stuck in some way in our lives and it’s about how we get ourselves out of it before it’s too late. I’m having the time of my life. It feels so good to be acting again and to finally act in a feature film is definitely something I’ve been dying to do for a really long time” said Minnie Dlamini

Taking to Instagram, Minnie Dlamini has shared the official date when the movie The Honeymoon is coming out and fans have already pledged their support of going to the cinemas to support Dlamini on her biggest project yet.
