What you did to Sjava cannot be undone – Lady Zamar still face backlash

It’s been years since South African singer Lady Zamar laid s.e.xual assault charges against her former boyfriend and fellow musician Sjava. The case was thrown out of court but South Africans – particularly fans of Sjava – have not forgiven Zamar for turning Sjava’s life upside after he lost a number of deals as a result of the allegations.

Both of them have moved on but many people are still reminding Zamar about the incident while remarking just how much they refuse to forgive her for it. It looks like people will never let Lady Zamar forget about the 2019 rape allegations she made against local rapper Sjava.

The pair were dating when Zamar claimed that Sjava had forced himself on her after one of his performances. I am not a sexual offender. I have for years been advocating for (against) abuse of any kind, any shape or form, be it women or children abuse, even alcohol abuse,” said Sjava after the claims were made.

Nothing came of the case which resulted in many people wondering if the story is actually true. They have since accused Zamar of falsely accusing Sjava and subsequently ruining his career. While all of this took place years ago and both Zamar and Sjava appeared to have moved on, many of his fans will not allow her to move on with her life.

In fact, she recently headed to Facebook and shared some stunning snaps of herself.
Instead of being bombarded with compliments, she was faced with many comments about the allegations she made against Sjava.

Lady Zamar wants Mzansi to find her

Singer and songwriter Lady Zamar whose birth name is Yamikani Janet Banda last trended in tabloid headlines and on social media in 2020 following her alleged rape allegations against her ex, award-winning musician Sjava. The Malawian singer opened a rape case against Sjava but the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) court ended in his favor due to a lack of substantial evidence leaving social media users and loyal Sjava fans attacking Lady Zamar, and accusing her of trying to ruin the award-winning singer’s blossoming career.

Lady Zamar and Jabulani Hadebe, affectionately known by Sjava had been in a discreet relationship with the public for over 2 years before their split started making tabloid headlines in 2017. Not too long after the breakup, Lady Zamar opened the rape case against Sjava arguably at the peak of his music career.

The Collide hitmaker has since taken a hiatus from releasing music with her last release three years ago. She is back and will be dropping a new release called Find Me Again this Friday, 22 April 2022, which is anticipated to top digital streaming and radio charts because the singer never misses.
The “beautiful banger” according to Lady Zamar’s producers promises to fall under the dance and upbeat genres and will be released under Universal Music South African and she looks forward to seeing you enjoy it. Fellow musicians, industry friends, fans, and followers have been sending Lady Zamar love in the comments wishing her a great comeback. Shekinah, the Major League DJz, and Metro FM’s Khutso Theledi were some of the celebrities that showed Lady Zamar love ahead of her comeback.

One sarcastic tweep pondered the question to the TL, “Is Lady Zamar still making music?” Other tweeps were arguing that Lady Zamar should apologize to Sjava ahead of her release with some comments harsher than others.

The singer took to Twitter saying it might take a long time before she finally finds love.

Zamar didn’t explain why she made such statement, but many are aware her past relationships weren’t the best, especially with Sjava.

She’s obviously taking her time to heal, though the issue with her ex-boyfriend, Sjava was nullified.

The singer also spoke about how people intentionally spread false news about her.

Lady Zamar to drop new music after recovering from a career threatening surgery

Lady Zamar is coming back strong after a short break from the public eye. The star is set to return to music after recovering from throat surgery. Lady Zamar has been on a low for two years and a source from her record label announced that the star would be blessing our ears soon.

The singer has been quiet for some time leading fans to think she withdrew since the rise of Amapiano.

The Universal Music South Africa representative, Lwazi Zondo, detailed where Zamar has been, squashing the speculations. Thankfully, her revelations presented that the star hadn’t lost her confidence just yet.

Fortunately, Zamar is back at work according to the vocalist’s rep.

Zondo noted that the medical induced hiatus was officially over as the star had fully healed and would be releasing new hits next year, saying: “She is always in the studio recording new music. She is also taking a break from the media for now. So, she is not comfortable speaking [about it].”

If there’s any celebrity who has had their fair share of public scrutiny, it is Lady Zamar, and the singer recently revealed how she gets through it all with advice to her fans about forgiveness.

The Collide hitmaker took to Twitter on Tuesday to share advice with her fans.

“Be mindful of what you say, how you say it and how you treat others. Being gentle and loving comes at no price to you,” she wrote.

The singer encouraged her fans to forgive and surround themselves with good company.

“You can forgive someone without ever trusting them again. Forgiveness doesn’t automatically mean trust, like so many might believe. Surround yourself with people who can drag you out of your misery and make you feel good about yourself.”

Lady Zamar has shared messages relating to forgiveness and healing for most of the month.

“Heal. If not for yourself then for your children and the generations that will come after you,” she wrote earlier this month.

On Friday, the singer penned down a lengthy note, explaining why her album is taking forever to be ready, as it’s over a year since she’s being working on her 4th album.

Lady Zamar plans to giveaway R25 000 bursary for studies in 2021

Lady Zamar is ready to do what it takes to lend her helping hands to those who needs help this festive period. The star took to her social media to announce her partnership with Boston College to give away bursary.

However, she is not the only one who has been doing that recently as other celebrities have decided to give out the little they have. The financial assistance is worth a whopping R25 000 and the entries for the giveaway close on 15 December

Lady Zamar rape case – Here is why the Court ruled in favour of Sjava

Based on a belief that the facts or evidence do not support a successful prosecution, the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has decided not to prosecute musician Sjava for the case of alleged rape filed against him by a fellow musician, Lady Zamar.

Sowetan reports that Limpopo police spokesperson Col Moatshe Ngoepe confirmed that the case against Sjava was declined for prosecution two weeks ago.

“Last year the case docket was handed over to the senior public prosecutor for a decision. On November 5, the case docket was withdrawn by the director of public prosecutions at court. The state declined to prosecute the case because it believed the facts or evidence do not support a successful prosecution,” explained Ngoepe.

This in reference to an incident Lady Zamar (Janet Banda) alleges happened three years ago (in 2017) after a concert at a hotel in Thohoyondou, Limpopo, where the pair were booked to perform.

Though the incident happened in 2017, Banda officially opened a case against Sjava (Jabulani Hadebe) last year in Limpopo.

According to Ngoepe, the case was passed on to the NPA for a decision on whether to prosecute.

Speaking about the alleged incident on a live stream earlier this year, Banda insisted that there had been no romantic relationship between herself and Hadebe prior to the incident though they had first met five months prior.

Banda also explained that she had had a breast reduction procedure performed in July of that year. Her doctor advised her that she wasn’t allowed to be intimate with anyone for at least six weeks after the procedure.

Neither Sjava nor Lady Zamar’s legal representation had responded to requests for comment at the time of publishing.
