After 16 years in the music business, rapper Kwesta has had a fair share of good and bad experiences but he wouldn’t change a thing.

“It has been perfect but obviously it’s had its fair share of success, shortcomings, problems, and turbulence and I think those are the types of ingredients you need to have anything worth having for 16 years,” he told the publication.

As one of Mzansi’s most celebrated rappers, Kwesta, real name Senzo Vilakazi, has had to learn to navigate fame and admits that juggling stardom and his personal life has not been an easy journey.

“There’s the human aspect of things that I am Senzo, then there’s the Kwesta aspect of things. Differentiating between that is a personal struggle, so much so that sometimes it will get you to the point of depression because you never know when to switch on and switch off. Then people that you know start calling you a stranger and then the fans that you cater for start calling you absent.”

While his long-standing friends who grew up with him might not easily understand the sacrifices that come with being in showbiz, Kwesta has made more friends with people pursuing the same career.

From rapper Kid X, to Amapiano sensation Kabza De Small, Kwesta’s circle has been growing bigger.

“I should be able to pick up the phone when I’m struggling with my own personal issues as Senzo. I should be able to call a friend, I don’t want to call an artist at that time, I want to call a friend who can help me about with the situation that I am going through. I have friends in the industry.”

Rap star Kwesta was a recent guest on PopCast Podcast where he spoke about how he broke the news to Yanga Chief on the death of Kiernan Jarryd Forbes. The rapper who brags about his 16 years longevity in rap, said he is still shaken by AKA’s death.

On the show, he told the hosts how he broke the news to Yanga stating that he did not know that he was not aware of his friend’s passing.

“The only other person I called after hearing about Kiernan [“AKA” Forbes] was Yanga and I wanted an explanation of sorts of ‘what do you know?’, and he just found out from me. Which is a terrible thing because when you [are] asking the questions you realise this person doesn’t know [what] the f*ck you’re talking about. Now you have to sort of treat the conversation differently. It immediately changes, because now you’re bearing this news,” he said.

Yanga Chief is one friend who is constantly speaking on AKA’s death. He recently asked the SAPS to not fail them.

“It’s so boring without you Pah. Ima just keep it a buck. Every day I lose more faith that justice will be served. SAPS please don’t F this up. #JusticeForAKA (can’t even believe such a tag exits). Let’s keep praying for the family and loved ones. It’s not over,” Yanga said.

“Waking up to this reality daily is heavy to bear. So many conversations I wish had gone differently. The arrogance to think ‘we still have time’. Will we ever get over ourselves sisaphila? I’m beyond grateful for what we created, Forbes. Not just songs, not just memories, but we actually changed people’s lives.”

Tweeps cannot believe their eyes following allegations that hip hop musician Senzo “Kwesta” Vilakazi is cheating on his wife and mother of his two children Yolanda Vilakazi.

The rumours of the Spirit rapper’s alleged cheating came a day after the artist proposed a second time to his wife in a romantic and dreamy setting.

According to controversial and under-fire entertainment commentator Musa Khawula, the woman in question’s name is Nthabiseng and she is allegedly from Mbombela in Mpumalanga.

The blogger, who posted pictures and a video on his Twitter on Friday 24 June, claimed that the Ngyazifela Ngawe rapper spends quality time with his alleged mistress whenever he is performing in that city.
On his Twitter, Musa shared a picture of the alleged side-chick alongside a picture showing a woman’s hand caressing the beard of a man who looks like Kwesta. In another post, a video shows the musician at a groove spot having drinks. The montage video also shows the woman in the same hang-out spot as her nails are zoomed into and they look exactly like the nails of the woman in the picture. In the same video, a screenshot of a WhatsApp story purportedly by Nthabiseng reads “Not this one performing Khethile Khethile.”

Kwesta’s love song Khethile Khethile is dedicated to his wife Yolanda and the music video features scenes from their two wedding days with both their white wedding and traditional Zulu wedding.

The cheating rumours came just one day after the Ngud’ hitmaker went down on one knee for the second time, as he proposed to his wife and reassured her of his life.

According to Yolanda, her husband decided to give her the proposal of her dreams as he could not the first. The couple, who share two daughters, got married in 2019.

Twitter users have been shocked and disappointed following the rumours. Many woman came out to tweet that they believed Kwesta was different and they were rooting for the celebrity couple.

However, other tweeps started referencing vocalust Samthing Soweto’s latest song Amagents.

In the song, which was released by the Akanamali hitmaker on Friday 24 June, he speaks to the common ideology that “all men are the same” — a nuanced “men are trash” message. The song is dedicated to his daughter and serves as a warning against men who are predators and cheaters.

Tweeps have expressed their concern for hitmaker Senzo Mfundo Vilakazi aka Kwesta Dakar. The star shot to fame with his 2016 hit Ngud which featured rapper Cassper Nyovest. While he went on to produce a number of other hit singles, he quickly quieted down after settling down with his partner Yolanda Mvelase who he married in a beautiful ceremony in 2019.

Many of his fans have expressed that the marriage may have led to his career taking the back seat since he hasn’t produced any hit music since.

Fans of Kwesta Dakar have expressed their concern over the musician who appears to be falling away from the musical spotlight.

The muso hasn’t made a hit song in a while and appears to be soaking in married life with his beautiful wife Yolanda and their two daughters Khai and Kenya.

While his marriage is seemingly healthy and happy – his fans are not. This is because they think married life is stripping him of his once successful musical career.

Savanna News reports that a number of his fans have expressed concern that his wife is holding him back.

While a lot of them praised his wife for loving him so boldly, they did criticize her for not allowing him to be his best musical self.

Kwesta was recently caught in a hilarious situation when he was out and about. A fan who was extremely excited to see him asked to take a video with him, and the encounter did not end well. He walked away after being called by Cassper’s name.

In the video, Kwesta is seen greeting some fans, and this other lady who was already recording a video on her phone called him.

Kwesta responded, and they took the video. The girl then asked him how he was; that’s when she called the wrong name.

The Spirit hitmaker looked surprised and disappointed, and then he corrected the girl while he was walking away.

It didn’t stop there, though when she realized what she had done, she tried to call him back, she had difficulty remembering the correct name, and when she finally did, the moment had passed.

Kwesta shared the video on his Twitter page and mentioned how this damaged him emotionally. Kwesta asked Cassper to arrange a fight with her brother or her boyfriend.

The video has since gone viral and social media found the whole thing both offensive and hilarious simultaneously.

Kwesta was advised to get the woman’s brother in the ring with Cassper after his fight with Naak MusiQ in two weeks.

Cassper and Kwesta have collaborated on many songs and are also brothers in the industry.
Some social media users noted this fact and tried to rationalize why it is not far-fetched that this woman would confuse them. Others acknowledged that she must not be Kwestas die-hard fan.

Fans found a way of calling Kwesta out on this, saying this is a sign that he needs to release some music and do another collaboration with Cassper.

The last song these two collaborated on was a Kwesta’s song called Ngud’, back in 2016.
The song was an instant hit, and Cassper also called on Kwesta to join him while doing his fill up concerts. These two are a great combination if even their fans can’t tell their names apart.
