It is really hard being a Celebrity, they can’t seem to catch a break. Having your name at the disposal of almost anyone and your life documented in the public eye for everyone to see rarely ever seems like a good idea, but this is the reality that celebrities and public figures live with.

Add to that the age of the internet and internet trolls, and you have the perfect recipe to become a villain in the eyes of people who don’t know you. The latest celebrity to feel the wrath of social media outrage is actress Zenande Mfenyana.

The former Generations actress has gotten quite a reputation for being unpleasant and mean over the years.

The origins of the Zenande Mfenyana hate train are still unclear, although it seems that Mfenyana first came under fire after talking about how hard it was to deal with helpers in 2020.

In a since-deleted Twitter post, she wrote:

Helpers are exhausting, yerrr.

This resulted in a backlash from various Twitter users, who took no time to call her evil and unkind.

Over the years, Mfenyana has continuously come under fire for the way she has interacted with her fans. In 2021, she was called out after talking about an interaction with a cashier who couldn’t remember her name or where she acted.

Though the interaction started innocently, it ended with Mfenyana not really acknowledging the fact that the cashier knew her from somewhere.

The Twitter post read:

Cashier: You look like this other actor so Me: Oh ok, which one? Cashier: Omong so Me: Errrr ??Cashier: Ke wena neh? Me Nna mang? Cashier:Ke wena maan! Kutlwa ka voice Me: ok sure????‍??????‍??????‍??????‍??

Actress Zenande Mfenyana has been told to do some self-introspection. She recently complained that people hate her and that she’s now used to it.

It is not clear what triggered the post as she wrote: “I’ve grown so accustomed to being hated. I don’t know how to receive love anymore.”

But her followers were not feeling sorry for her, instead, they told her to get off her high horse.

Mbali Ngcobo recalled one of the incidents and wrote: “I met you once and it was more than enough… I loved you from your Generations character. You stayed at a hotel I worked in for quite some time with the cast. One day the lift opened and there you were. While I was star struck, you said ‘are you gonna get in or not.’”

Azanian commented: “If this is how you really feel then you gonna have to take the harsh truth from those hidden replies sisi. People who have met you in person complain about you being rude and treating them like they stink. People generally like you up until they meet you, I think.”

Nthabi said: “Until that lady introspects and practice kindness, she’ll always receive that kind of energy from people. The fact that she’s hiding replies means she’s still in denial about her behaviour.”

She has since deleted the post.

The publication tried to reach out to her and she refused to comment. “I am minding the baby so I cannot speak,” she said before dropping the phone.
