South African actress, Phindile Gwala gets a birthday wish from her husband, Armando Ngandu as she turns 36 years old.

The actress took to Instagram to announce her birthday with a post; she shared a sizzling photo of herself which gained her lots of birthday wishes.

Big trouble for actress Phindile Gwala as she fails to pay her R115 000 electricity bill

Imbewu: The Seed actress Phindile Gwala-Ngandu seems to be having trouble paying her electricity bill, and she may end up living in darkness if she does not comply.

According to a local publication, the actress is at loggerheads with Bramley Mews Body Corporate for non-payment of her hefty electricity bill.

The actress has been dragged to court for failing to settle her electricity bill of over 100K and the body corporate is reportedly seeking a court order to cut her electricity supply if she fails to settle the bill of R115 641.98

“As it appears from the notice of motion, the applicant (Bramley Mews Corporate) seeks an order against the respondent (Phindile Gwala) for monetary payments regarding arrear levies and electricity charges, which are due to the applicant by the respondent.”

“The applicant also seeks an order against the respondent for disconnection of the electricity supply to the section, pending full payment of arrear levies and electricity charges. This particular relief has necessitated the launching of this court application out of the above honourable court.”

Moreover, the manager of the body corporate told the publication that Gwala-Ngandu was served with a court judgment for non-payment in June 2020.

“Judgment was granted against the respondent for the sum of R70 809.95 and on or about 22 March 2022, a warrant of execution was issued against the movable property of the respondent…to date hereof, the respondent failed and alternatively neglected, further refused to make payments in respect of special levies, normal levies, refuse recoveries and sewer/ effluent levies in full. As such, payments become due and payable to the applicant.”

“While a failure to pay every amount due to the applicant is prejudicial to it, a failure to effect payment of electricity consumption charges is the most prejudicial. The reason for this is that the body corporate is obligated, on a monthly basis, to effect payment of electricity consumption charges in respect of every section within its scheme, to the local council.”

According to the publication, the actress’ failure to pay will result in more problems for the body corporate.

“If the applicant does not recover these payments from its members, it will continue to advance monies to the council, on behalf of section owners who do not pay for electricity consumption. This will deplete any savings which the applicant may have and will ultimately cause the applicant to have a negative bank balance, risking a disconnection of the electricity supply, by the local municipality, to all the sections and the applicant being placed under administration.”

Imbewu: The Seed refutes firing actress Phindile Gwala

Popular telenovela Imbewu: The Seed has rubbished the claims that actress Phindile Gwala, who plays Fikile, has been canned due to her acting incompetence.

It has been reported that Phindile, whose character is currently sick, failed to impress the new producers with her acting skills. This apparently left them with no choice but to let her go.

But, Imbewu has denied the allegations.

Its publicist Eugene Cele told the People’s Paper that Phindile left the show to pursue other interests.

“The reports are false. She left to pursue other career interests. There is no bad blood between us; just growth, and we wish her well with her future endeavors,” he said.

It is still unclear how and when the former Muvhango actress will exit the show. But shortly after the news of her departure, people took to social media to react.

“Pretty privilege. A lot of people are on our screens everyday, not because they can act but because they look good. Kudos to the Imbewu crew,” Dlala Skwelethu said.

Javino said she had noticed her skill incompetence when she failed to act surprised at her birthday party.

“She didn’t make it seem real or genuine. Just said her lines and shed some tears while hugging her friends and family. I think producers are looking past beauty and physical features, and are now looking for talent,” he said.

Actress Phindile Gwala fired from Imbewu The Seed

Bootylicious Imbewu actress Phindile Gwala has reportedly been fired from the popular eTV show. According to a local publication the actress has been failing to deliver on her acting skills hence producers of the show decided to give her marching orders.

The actress portrays the fiery character of Fikile and she joined the show in 2020. Fikile left viewers on the edge of their collective seats during her debut speaking at Ngcolosi’s funeral. Viewers were intrigued by her and wondered who she was.

Her character won the hearts of many people with the drama, but sadly she couldn’t win the hearts of the new producers due to her poor performance.

“Phindile’s on-screen character was being struck off because of her craft competence. The producers have it that her talent is not what the showrunners expected out of her. However, it was revealed that the new producers were not very impressed, so they did not want to keep her,” said a source.

Phindile rose to superstardom when she played the character of Nonny on SABC 2 soapie Muvhango. We wonder what’s next for her now. Another character exiting the show is apparently Muzi Mthabela, who plays the role of Menzi. In real life, the actor is a Christian and he is apparently unimpressed with playing a womanizer.

Thapelo Ramatsui, spokesperson for Imbewu The Seed, confirmed that the two actors will leave the soapie, but said that it will be a brief break.

“They are on a hiatus from the show … They want to explore other avenues, such as other work opportunities. Durban is quite a stretch, so if they want to pursue other interests in Johannesburg, we give them leeway to pursue other projects and possibly come back. We did not fire anyone,” Ramatsui said.

Muzi won the hearts of many people on Isibaya when he played the much loved character of Duma. He exited the show after it was reported that it would not be renewed for a ninth season due to a decline in viewership.

A few weeks ago, Phindile was spotted out and about with her fans in Durban.

The Imbewu star took young ladies out for lunch. According to TV personality Phil Mphela, the young ladies had requested to meet Phindile via social media.

However, fans were not convinced that the actress was doing this out of the goodness of her heart, many tweeted that she was saving her reputation after a backlash.
A few days before Phindile took the ladies out, she was dragged on Twitter for allegedly attacking a young woman and damaging her phone at Cubana nightclub. She thought the girl was taking her pictures.

Phindile eventually released a statement saying they have both dropped cases against each other.

On a now-deleted statement, the actress wrote: “It is with a sense of humility that I express my guidance for the constructive criticism, guidance, and support I have received from the people of this country of all ages. Equally, I express my sincere appreciation to the family and friends of Ms. Nompilo Mkhize.

Despite the hurt and high emotions that ran higher and ensued after this unfortunate incident, the spirit of Ubuntu has finally prevailed and brought us together. Without dwelling much on legal issues, I do wish to point out that this prevailing spirit of ubuntu has resulted in both of us withdrawing cases that we had opened against each other.”

Telling her side of the story on a lengthy Facebook post, Nompilo said she was standing outside Cubana for her ride to go back home, she said she was busy with her phone taking videos of herself while waiting for her ride when Phindile thought she was taking videos of her.

She said Phindile then came to her, took her phone, deleted the videos, and scratched her face.

Nompilo said she then went to open a case against Phindile but she got arrested instead for breaking COVID-19 laws.
