Model Ayanda Thabethe opens up about her horrific experience with a birth control device

Ayanda Thabethe shared her side of her story as she suffers from an intrauterine device, known as an IUD.

This is coming after the star retweeted a TikTok video of a woman recalling the horrific experience.

In the video TikTok user Mo´nica Herna´ndez said she got the copper IUD because it didn’t include hormones.

Having gone through a similar procedure herself years ago, the actress took to Twitter to recount what a crisis it was for her, and how a procedure that was supposed to be a “small thing” ended up being life-threatening for her.

“Tried this years ago. This thing disappeared in my body. Had to get X-rays done and ultimately surgery to get it out. Yho women go through the mostest,” Ayanda said.

Idols SA Top Three Announced

Idols SA season 17 top three finalists, made sure to bring their A-game on last night’s live performances as the show is gears up for the season finale next week

Last night’s episode was one for the history books: for the first time in its history, the top 3 is a women’s affair as Karabo, Berry and S’22Kile and they outsang the best of Mzansi talent to make it to this crucial stage.

Also for the first time, two of the top 3 contestants are returnees to the Idols SA stage, with Berry and Karabo (who previously didn’t make it past the open auditions stage) having tried and failed to reach the live shows stage in the past. Sadly, it was the end of the road for the last man standing, Kevin, who failed to gather enough of the 8-milion votes cast over the week to make it to the top 3.

Performing three songs each, the women tried to show viewers that not only do they have the talent, but also the star power to convince viewers that either one of them could be the 17th winner of Idols SA.

Each of the contestants had their moment to shine, with Karabo wowing the viewers during her first performance, in which she shared the stage with gospel great Lebo Sekgobela, singing ‘Hallelujah Mdumiseni’. Unathi told Karabo that she becomes more powerful week by week, while guest judge Judith Sephuma said the Idols SA hopeful is a versatile singer, with Randall saying her performance was exceptional.

S’22Kile got raving reviews for not only her hunger to stay in the competition and the resulting hard work she put in, but also her song choices. Randall commended her decision to sing Amanda Black’s ‘Mina Nawe’ for the cover song segment, and Unathi was pleased she had decided to sing Doja Cat’s ‘Woman’.

But as far as Unathi was concerned, Berry stole the show. She was blown over by Berry’s IsiZulu during her duet with gospel singer and pastor Ayanda Ntanza. Randall said their performance of Ayanda’s hit ‘Basuka’ was a great start to the show, while he also commended her song choice for the trending hit segment: Adele’s ‘Easy on Me’. Judith said she loved Berry’s take of the Righteous Brothers’ classic hit ‘Unchained Melody’.

Berry, Karabo and S’22Kile will spend the next week in Cape Town recording their first singles with Kalawa Jazmee Records and going on a much-deserved shopping spree. And next week, they will return to the Idols SA stage as we all find out who has made it to the Idols SA finale.

SAD Scenes: Zuma and Reece Madlisa involved in a deadly Accident – Watch

Some fans expressed concern saying it’s time our favourite Amapiano stars get their very own drivers, assuming that they drive themselves to events either drunk or very tired. Of course the details are not known, but this concern comes from a good place as fans do not wish to see yet another Amapino star losing their lives due to car accidents.

This is after the heartbreaking death of Mpura and Killer Kau who lost their lives along with 4 other people namely Thando Thot, Khaya Hadebe TD and a firefighter.

According to police who told TshisaLIVE that an official investigation has been launched, they said, “The department of community safety, roads and transport has confirmed the accident that claimed six lives on the N4. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the deceased and we hope they find strength during this difficult period. An investigation is underway to establish the cause of the accident. We are again appealing to people to adhere to the regulations as most accidents happen way past curfew time. Work with our law enforcement officials to ensure you arrive alive.”

The Amapiano fraternity was hit badly by this accident so much to the point where the Amapiano awards decided to chip in and assist the families of the deceased, “In paying tribute to the two heroes (Killer Kau and Mpura) that have contributed immensely within the entertainment industry and as part of our efforts to promote and preserve the rich legacy that they crafted, Amapiano Awards are in conversations with financial services companies to create a facility that will assist in ensuring that our artists receive funeral cover and disability benefits,” the statement read.

Just two months back, new kid on the block, Mfana KaGogo was also involved in a serious car crash. The 17-year-old said on his social media, “We are thankful that a person is still alive, as well as my team. Jehova you are great.”
Putting the blame on the deaths of Mpura and Killer Kau on JazziQ, Rea Gopane found himself getting slapped with yet another lawsuit when he said, JazziQ sacrificed them for the betterment of his career.

“The entire entertainment industry looked passed the fact that JazziQ sacrificed Killer Kau and Mpura…for the betterment of his career,” alleged Rea. He continued by saying “The day after they died, he went to Ghana…” said Rea then his co-host Blvck Steph, asked him “so you think the ritual was done there.”

Rea then continued and said, “I’m just saying, we are not reading between the lines…the sacrifice is right there and everybody missed it. JazziQ’s lawyers hit back at Rea and said his words “maliciously defames Tumelo Manyoni (his real name).

Miss SA to contest for Miss Universe in Israel despite criticism

The Miss SA organisation will not boycott Miss Universe in Israel.

Spokeswoman Janine Greenleaf Walker confirmed Miss SA Lalela Mswane will take part in Miss Universe, despite inkosi Mandla Zwelivelile Mandela’s open letter, calling on all Miss Universe participants to boycott the pageant.

Mandla’s argument was that Israel was an apartheid state.

He said: “We call on all countries to boost their efforts to isolate apartheid Israel and cut all ties. be it trade, culture, sport, recreation or diplomatic.

“We call on all African countries to withdraw from the Miss Universe pageant in apartheid Israel in protest at its observer status granted unilaterally by the AU Commissioner. We call on all the Miss Universe participants from all over the world to send us letters announcing their withdrawal and disassociating from an event that normalises the apartheid Israel daily killing, bulldozing of homes and orchards and maiming young and innocent children.”

Other organisations, such as Palestine Solidarity Alliance, have also called upon Miss SA to boycott the pageant. But Walker told Daily Sun Miss SA would attend the event.

“Miss South Africa Organisation is not getting involved in a political war of words and looks forward to watching Miss SA make the country proud on an international stage,” she said.

Miss Universe is set to take place next month.
