Actress Thembisa Mdoda shares tips on being pregnant after 40

Popular South African actress Thembisa Mdoda got real with her followers about the changes and adjustments she experienced during her pregnancy.

The actress, who is expecting her third child, took to her timeline to share lessons she had learned about pregnancy after 40.

After sharing how she had craved different sodas every week she j said: “My poor husband, guys. Oh, umvubo. My staple diet.”

a) Be patient and kind to yourself. You’ll see a bird flying and start crying out of nowhere.

b) Start taking prenatal vitamins asap, and don’t skip.

c) As soon as you find out you’re pregnant practise stretching every morning and evening before bed.

d) Food: If you want it, eat it. Just make sure you add fibre to your diet.

e) Don’t get up too fast (trust me).

f) Invest in ultrasound gel, and start using it on areas prone to stretch marks.

Earlier this month Thembisa announced she was expecting.

The media personality shared a picture of her baby bump.

“I’m not one to announce things so I’m just going to say, ‘I’m going to need a bigger car and nappies, lots and lots of nappies’,” she wrote.

In another post, Thembisa expressed her gratitude towards celebrity make-up artist Nomsa Madida for her support.

“There are friends and there is an army. She is a walking, praying, compassionate, talented, loving army. Thank you, Lord. I’m so thankful for you.”

Ttelevision personality and actress Thembisa Mdoda shared pictures saying she was pregnant. Indeed, it’s all good news to Thembisa and her husband, Eric Nxumalo, since their marriage in 2020.

Sharing on her Instagram, Thembisa spoke at large of her happiness. She also said that she was not a fan of announcements but praised her close friend, Nomsa Madida. The news left many celebs wishing her well, including Jessica Nkosi, who was pregnant a few months ago.

Actress and media personality Thembisa Mdoda-Nxumalo, has revealed that she’s currently fighting for her life in hospital.

Taking to her Instagram Stories after an emotional day as Shona was laid to rest, Thembisa shared that the grief was heavy for her, especially since she was also fighting for her life.

“My kid feeling my grief and comforting me, on the phone today, knowing very well that I’m also fighting for dear life on this hospital bed. What a heavy day,” Thembisa said.

The actress didn’t reveal her ailment or what landed her in hospital. However, she said that she was feeling vulnerable and needed to break away so she could focus on healing and loving her people.

“At my most vulnerable, I actually don’t have the strength for anything else. Time to break away. Stay safe everyone. Love your loved ones. Love them hard.”

“She would watch my plays at least five times. [She] called me by my character names for weeks after. Sports, local and provincial, madam was front and centre.”

Thembisa continued; “I miss her so much on days like these. #DamSeries starts today on Showmax. So proud to be part of this. Thank you mom, you are constantly fighting. I can feel it. Camagu Qengeba. Siyaqhuba.”

Thembisa Mdoda-Nxumalo has taken to her social media to dedicate her latest win to her late mom.

The actress recently bagged a gig with Showmax. The TV presenter announced her latest gig in the Showmax thriller series Dam to her late mom and all the things she used to do to support her and her siblings.

Thembisa explained how beautiful her childhood is because of her late mom who she described as a “ninja for her kids”.

She said: “My mom was a ninja for her kids. She would stay up in her car to listen to my sister Anele’s show when she started out on the graveyard shift.

“She would watch my plays at least five times. [She] called me by my character names for weeks after. Sports, local and provincial, madam was front and centre.”

Thembisa also revealed how sad she is that her mom is not alive to witness such great achievement so as to celebrate her wins.
