Pabi Moloi’s baby daddy Ruan Adams speaks out

TV and radio personality Pabi Moloi says her ‘disputed husband’ and baby daddy Ruan Adams, who’s claiming half of her estate is accusing her of abusing drugs. Sunday World reports that the Power FM radio personality Pabi Moloi revealed ‘her husband’ Ruan Adams is claiming she abused drugs in papers she filed in the Johannesburg High court earlier this year.

Moloi is challenging her baby daddy’s claims that they were married in a community of property and that he’s entitled to half of her multi-million-rand estate. The TV personality is also pleading with the court to declare she and Adams were never married and he’s not entitled to half of her assets.

According to the publication Moloi admits she had a sexual relationship with Adams and conceived a child from the relationship but they separated when he became abusive and accused her of abusing substances.

It is unclear what kind of substances Moloi is accused of abusing as she did not disclose the specific substances claimed by Adams.

The adds that her baby daddy abused her financially and failed to contribute to the expenses of their joint household when they were together. The popular TV presenter also reveals that Adams harassed, and embarrassed her privately and publicly. Adams was also extremely jealous, possessive of her, and questioned the paternity of their only child, according to Moloi

He also demanded R25 000 of his lobola back which he paid on 30 May 2016.

“The plaintiff acted in an emotional, unregulated manner throughout the relationship between the parties, displayed severe mood swings, and subjected the defendant to unprovoked aggressive and destructive outbursts.” It is believed Adams applied for a “decree of divorce” early this year after he broke up with his baby mama.

Her estate includes a house in Broadacres in Fourways, a house in Noordwyk, Midrand, a house in Elton Hill and Edenburg in Sandton, and two houses in Waverley.

The estate also includes a white Jeep Cherokee, grey Suzuki, household furniture, her shares, pension funds, investments, and savings. Adams is also demanding Moloi to pay him R8 500 “spousal maintenance” a month to continue to live the luxurious lifestyle he led during their marriage.

Adams’ lawyer, Lutendo Siphuma, of SL Attorneys, declined to comment at the time of publishing this article. It won’t be appropriate to comment on a matter that is sub-judice,” he said.

Trouble & drama in paradise: Pabi Moloi denies marriage as broke baby daddy wants spousal supportMzansi radio personality Pabi Moloi’s baby daddy – Ruan Adams – who claims he’s paid lobola for her in 2016 is seeking division of their multimillion-rand estate and R8500 spousal support after the pair separated.

Adams says he’s entitled to 50% of their estate as their customar marriage is recognized by law.

A legal battle is looming between Power FM’s radio personality Pabi Moloi and her baby daddy – Ruan Adams over the legality of their customary marriage and division of their estate.

The letter which has been shared by a local publication states that Adams is entitled to 50% of their estate as their customary marriage was recognised by law as marriage in a community of property. His lawyer Lutendo Siphuma of SL Attorneys also requests the mother of his child to disclose all the properties and vehicles to the joint estate.

Moloi’s lawyer Vanessa Da Silva of Ulrich Roux & Associates replied to Siphuma:

“Our client specifically denies that she was ever married to your client, be it in terms of civil law or customary law.”

“As such, our client denies that any joint estate exists between herself and your client.”

“In light of the above, our client is under no obligation to furnish your client, nor is your client entitled to demand, the financial documentation requested.”

Moloi also told the Sunday tabloid “there was no marriage” when she was reached for comment.Trouble & drama in paradise: Pabi Moloi denies marriage as broke baby daddy wants spousal supportA source close to the couple says Adams insists he and Moloi got married when he paid R25 000 lobola for her.

Adams reportedly has wedding pictures to prove their union and said blankets were handed over on their wedding day and that traditional beer was consumed.

The families danced and Moloi’s grandmother made a speech before handing her over as makoti.

Another source revealed that Adams wants the media personality to pay him R8500 spousal maintenance a month so that he can continue to live the luxurious lifestyle he led during their marriage.

Their joint estate allegedly includes a house in Broadacres in Fourways; a house in Noordwyk, Midrand; a house in Elton Hill and Edenburg in Sandton; and two houses in Waverley.

The estate also includes a white Jeep Cherokee, grey Suzuki, household furniture, her shares, investments, and savings.

His lawyer said the assets should be sold and the proceeds should be shared equally or she could buy him out by paying him half of the value of each property after evaluation by a registered valuer.

The TV and radio personality took to Instagram in 2016 and broke the news to fans with a cozy picture of her and her ‘new hubby’ dressed in traditional attire.

She captioned the image:

“So many people got married last week. Even me! #PermaBae #AlwaysAndForever #MrsA.”

Moloi who is incredibly private when it comes to her personal life posted a picture that hid her ‘husband’s’ face.

Presenter and radio DJ Pabi Moloi has opened up about receiving the Covid-19 jab, divulging to fans that she has trypanophobia or a fear of needles.

After vaccinations opened up for people 35 years old and older, Mzansi has seen an increase in daily vaccine administrations with more of the nation opening up to the idea of receiving a vaccine.

SA celebs also rushed to their nearest vaccine site to receive the jab against the coronavirus. Pabi recently hopped on board to immunise herself against the virus.

Though in an Instagram the star encouraged others to get vaccinated, she revealed that she actually has a fear of needles and didn’t have a pleasant time.

“So … here’s the thing about me and needles. It’s a no from me. So obviously I winced and nyakazad’ as the needle went in,” she wrote.

After receiving it, the star said that her arm was sore but she also felt a tingly sensation. All in all, the star said she felt fine after a nap and encouraged others to follow suit in the fight against the coronavirus.

“So far post-vaccination, my arm is a bit sore at the site and it feels a little like pins and needles in my fingers. I had a little nap earlier and now I feel perfectly fine. If you’re eligible, please get vaccinated,” said Pabi.

Pabi Moloi (37) reflects on her career , challenges and motherhood as she celebrates 30 years on TV

Like a caterpillar that transforms into a blooming butterfly, beloved former child star Pabi Moloi has continuously captivated audiences throughout her kaleidoscopic three-decade career.

The 37-year-old television and radio maven’s showbiz trajectory started at the tender age of four doing commercials. By 11, she launched her presenting career on KTV.

Continuing to show off her versatility at 18, she transitioned into radio when she joined Highveld Stereo (now 947). This past Monday I watched Moloi go through another rebirth as she was christened as the newest addition to The Morning Show.

My plan to deeply immerse myself into Moloi’s new early morning routine quickly fails after missing the 6am call time. An hour later I arrived at the revamped e.tv show’s new residence nestled in the heart of Sandton, Johannesburg.

To my surprise, while it looks fancy on television, the set is situated in an old block under heavy construction. So shabby is the place that at first I think I’m not only late, but lost too.

A crew member heightens my anxiety when he trolls me by teasing that I’m at the wrong place when I ask for direction. When I eventually make it inside, I spy Moloi rocking a striped number and her signature teeny weeny ’fro. Nearby are her co-anchors William Lehong and Nelisiwe Nxumalo.

Early morning routines are nothing new for Moloi, having done breakfast shows at KTV, YFM, Metro FM and Power FM.

“I have a bit of the rhythm of a morning show, but I don’t know if a person ever gets used to such an early morning,” Moloi admits.

Trending SA gave Moloi two of her career highlights. She joined the talk show in 2016 when she was six months pregnant. Another highlight was winning a South African Film and Television Award (Safta).

“I have had all transitions on camera. I carried my child on camera and that was magnificent,” Moloi shares. “I did the show until very late in my pregnancy and then took some time off. I didn’t take a full three or four months because in our industry if you don’t work you don’t get paid.

“I have anxieties like everyone else – that working mom guilt and anxiety. The idea that as a black woman I must always be above and beyond everyone else in my sphere because I’m looked at with more of a critical eye.”

Born in Diepkloof, Soweto, Moloi was a baby herself when she started doing commercials at the age of four. After several auditions, she landed the M-Net KTV gig that lasted nine years. Moloi loved performance art from a young age, studying musical theatre in high school.

“I wasn’t doing netball at school, I was going to KTV and doing recordings. If I wanted something expensive I’d get it myself. I think I bought myself my first cellphone,” Moloi recounts.

“But I didn’t feel a huge responsibility to pay for the municipality bill at home. There were one or two times that I could see there were financial challenges at home and I’d help with school fees.”

Around the same time that she left KTV, Moloi entered a radio competition looking for the voice of Joburg. She won it and joined Highveld Stereo. After two years, she moved to Metro FM for another two years before shifting to YFM for the same number of years. Moloi then returned to Highveld for five years and now she has been on Power FM for seven years. Moloi calls transitioning into talk radio another highlight.

“The most difficult thing [about transitioning from being a child star] was in my own mind censoring myself.

“When you are a child in these television spaces, at least the way we were trained, there is a specific way that you operate.

“Because you have to be child-friendly, more tame in the way that you dress and speak a certain way that is not offensive. It has taken me a long time to be more risqué and outspoken.”

On television, she has done it all from All Access Mzansi to Out of the Box, Strictly Come Dancing and Presenter Search on 3.

“I have quit jobs, I’ve been fired… and I have ghosted. I’ve made all those kind of mistakes.

“You have to bump your head to get the lessons. Everything in this business is harsh. The lights, sound and mornings are harsh. I haven’t chosen an easy path.

“My career has brought me a lot of joy and the life that I have. I have travelled the world through my career. I have walked the Great Wall of China. I’ve sat down and had a meal with [the late former president] Nelson Mandela. I’ve had a spectacular time and what’s exciting is that there is more to do.”

“But I’m also a mom and these little ones like to wake up with the sun, so I think I have had the perfect training at home.”

The stakes have been raised high with Miss SA Shudufhadzo Musida, Afro-soul musician Musa Sukwene and gospel star Bucy Radebe as guests – all their interviews were pre-recorded. Not kidding, live television is stressful, but Moloi is chilled and looks right at home.

During the news bulletin in the final hour there is a technical error and she graciously recovers from it. As her interview with Radebe airs she watches it on the in-studio monitor and marvels at her bright-hued manicure. I later learn that she does her own nails.

“The last live show [Trending SA] I did was more physical comedy, improvisation and late night; which gave it a different energy and editorial content to what a morning show requires,” Moloi observes.

“So, it’s about flipping it around to say I’m also good at this. For example, doing a news bulletin on the show is a fantastic new challenge.”

As we celebrate her 37th birthday today, here’s a look at the year gone by for Pabi Moloi.
Radio host Pabi Moloi came back on air after being suspended for purportedly being rude to a listener. Pabi apparently responded to a caller rudely and apparently even came across as a tad bit incoherent.

This incident led to her alleged suspension from the radio station. Whether she was drunk or sick at the time, it made it difficult for the allegations to be verified.

Though senior employees at Power FM called for the TV and radio presenter to be penalized for ‘disgracing’ the station, Pabi was let off with a suspension after she rendered an apology to the caller and her Power FM listeners.

Pabi, after a couple of drinks, made the regrettable decision to drive herself home and got pulled over by the cops. She was arrested and charged for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Though nobody got hurt that night, Pabi was repentant and regretful of her decision to drive after drinking.

Pabi Moloi on Instagram and twitter, announced with remorse that she was arrested and regrets her poor decision making that night in a heart-felt apology:

“I’m truly gutted about this. I had an incident this week that I want to step up and take responsibility for. I had drinks and decided to drive myself home on Thursday night. It was a bad decision for which I take full responsibility. I was subsequently arrested for drinking and driving,”

She added that she would turn herself in, saying:

“I will submit myself to the process of the law. I understand the gravity of the potential damage I could have done and I am so so sorry.”

Pregnancy and childbirth is not a joke – Pabi Moloi

“I had an episiotomy, symphysis pubis and if I’d been carrying twins, my gynae said my pubic bone could have broken,” said Pabi

An episiotomy is a surgical procedure usually performed in the second stage of labour to help the baby pass through the opening. It is a surgical incision that can cause negative long-term effects on the mother.

This surgery is often done when a woman suffers from symphysis pubis, a condition that causes misalignment of the pelvis.
