Late South African writer and activist, Zoleka Mandela banned Muvhango and 7de Laan star Sekoati Tsubane from her funeral, which took place on Friday, 29 September.

TshisaLIVE reported in June 2011 that the actor Sekoati Tsubane and the late activist Zoleka Mandela were in a relationship and lost a baby boy named Zenawe Zibuyile Mandela.

Nelson Mandela’s infant great-grandson, Zenawe Zibuyile Mandela died after being born three months prematurely.

Muvhango & 7de Laan star Sekoati Tsubane banned from Zoleka Mandela’s funeral

7de Laan, who was Tsubane’s employer at the time released a statement saying: “It is with great regret that we report the passing of Sekoati and Zoleka’s baby boy in the weekend. Little Zenawe was born three months prematurely and died from related complications.”

The publication also reported in March 2012 that Mandela dumped Tsubane after coming clean about their drug habits.

Mandela’s ex-partner Tsubane is reportedly married today with children and living a clean life.

Mandela also listed her baby daddies, Thierry Bashala, who is the father of her two children and Leeroy Andie Cana, the father of her last born Zingce.

Zoleka Mandela’s list also included Mandla Mandela, Zenani Mandela senior, Zamaswazi Dlamini-Mandela and Zinhle Mandela among others.

Zoleka’s cousin, Ndileka, who is the late Thembekile “Thembi” Mandela’s daughter, and a granddaughter of the struggle stalwarts told The Citizen that she is aware of the list of people circulating on social media.

“There is a list in circulation on Twitter that I can confirm that contains the names of people. That was her (Zoleka’s) dying wish for those people not to attend the funeral.”

Ndileka paid tribute to her cousin, in a video clip shared by the SABC and said she knew her cousin from the time that she was a baby. She (Ndileka) was about 14 years old when Zo was born.

“My relationship with her extends from the time that she was born. We are a close-knit family, so my memory cast back to the times we would spend in Qunu and in jubilant occasions. The one thing that Zo has taught me even as her older cousin is endurance, bridging the odds.”

“Zo fought courageously; she knew the odds were stacked against her but that didn’t discourage her from fighting this terrible news called cancer.”

Khumo from Muvhango has struck again! After getting away with murder countless times, she’s about to get away with destroying Imani and James’ marriage.

Imani became tired of her scheming ways and went on a mission to expose her for being the murderer she is. She’s been sending Khumo’s husband, Paballo, anonymous messages telling him that Khumo killed his father.

Scheming, Khumo found out and devised a plan to get Imani kicked out of the house and, ultimately, out of her life.

She drugged both Imani and Paballo and placed them in bed naked. James found them in that vulnerable state and kicked Imani out.

Unfortunately, neither Imani nor Paballo remembers what happened, and no one believes them.

Khumo has been getting away with a lot. It’s time she’s caught. But it seems people will start being suspicious of her.

On the bright side, Karabo Moroka is back in South Africa, and she’s here to fix the country. Hopefully, she’ll get Tau out of prison.

96-year-old Gogo scores a role on Muvhango

Gogo Tshinakaho Mananga’s dream of being an on-screen actress has finally come true.

The 96-year-old from Tshedzani Village, Limpopo, will soon make her debut on SABC2’s popular Venda soapie, Muvhango.

She will play the role of Vho-Nyadzenga, an ancestor who had been a high-ranking member of the royal family.

She first appears on screen when she pops up on the royal chair in the palace and introduces herself to Lindelani, leaving her frightened.

She is Lindelani’s guide. She’s there to assist her in becoming the renowned sangoma Vho-Nyadzanga, which then becomes Lindelani’s highly-respected name.

Vho-Nyadzanga and Lindelani start off on the wrong foot with a relationship driven by fear.

But as the show goes on, Lindelani accepts her calling which takes her family by surprise.

The gogo said she has been leading an ordinary life, living with her makoti and her grandkids until she was cast as an extra on Muvhango during a location shoot in Venda.

Later when the show was looking to fill the role of Vho-Nyadzenda, she ticked all the boxes.

“I prayed for Muvhango to call me back with a role and shortly afterwards, my prayers were answered. I was happy,” she said.

Tshinakaho said her breakthrough serves as a reminder that you’re never too old to pursue your dreams.

Muvhango’s Mukondeleli is dead and the soapie’s production house has even sent its condolences. The production house posted a message on their Instagram page reading: “RIP VhoMukondeleli”.

This was after the character, played by Elsie Rasanalavho, died in hospital on the episode that aired on Friday, 27 May.

Elsie, who played the character for 25 years, told the publication she left the show due to personal reasons.

“My departure was voluntary. The time had come for me to focus on other things outside of Muvhango,” she said.

“Unfortunately, I cannot disclose my reasons for leaving and all I can say is that it’s personal.

Perhaps one day, I will be back on TV but it will not be on Muvhango.

“For now, I will be at home taking a break,” she said.

Elsie said she had a wonderful time working on the show.

“I was blessed to work with a wonderful cast and directors but now, it’s time to go.

“I’d like to thank viewers for welcoming me and supporting my craft. I’m also pleading with them to continue watching Muvhango.

“Unfortunately, I couldn’t watch the last episode because I was visiting my husband in hospital because he hasn’t been well but my fans were so emotional to see my departure,” she said.

Earlier in 2022, the Limpopo Legends Awards announced that Elsie would be honoured for raising the province’s flag high.

“At the time, she said: “It’s great to be honoured here at home, especially when I’m still alive.”

The last time I was honoured was at Muvhango, when I received a certificate of appreciation but this is more humbling.”

Muvhango cast join the #GiveMeSomeChallenge – VIDEO

Muvhango has joined in on the #givemesomechallenge that has since gone viral worldwide. The give me some drop challenge began on TikTok by an American comedian named Atsuko Okatsuka; this challenge sees people suddenly drop down slowly and squatting to a Beyonce song playing In the background. They all have to be looking at the camera while doing this.

Muvhango actors took a video in a dressing room during their break to attempt this fun challenge.

In the video, Maumela Mahuwa plays Susan Mukwevho, Innocentia Makapila Manchindi (Rendani), Angela Atlang (Itseng), Susan Ravuku (Thifelimbilu), and some of the women who work behind the scenes were the stars of this show.

The video starts well, and they all drop to the beat as a collective, and then on their third drop, Maumela (Susan) loses control and falls on Rendani, and they all break out in laughter.

The fall revealed a surprise dropper at the back, Gabriel Temudzani (Azwindini). Bafhuwi himself was dropping down almost to the floor the whole time, and he was doing it macho style.

The video was met with a lot of laughter from the followers of the Soapie, and many loved that Bafhuwi also joined in on the fun. Fans noticed how hilarious he looked and performed like he was doing squats from the gym.

The challenge has since gone viral and sees everyone from their homes, work, and even restaurants suddenly getting down. Even dogs have joined in on this challenge, but that’s a story for another day.

The challenge brings team spirit to colleagues, friends and families. Beyonce is known for her very suggestive moves in this video. The beat comes from an intro to a song called Partition from Beyonce’s self-titled visual album, which she released back in 2013.

We wish the team spirit were the same in the drama, though, because there isn’t any teamwork at this point between any of these characters. Especially Azwindini and Susan.

The Muvhango family didn’t want to be left out, and as far as we are concerned, they killed it.

THE cast and crew of the popular SABC2 soapie Muvhango are anxiously waiting to find out if they still have jobs.

They are apparently angry at management for not letting them know whether their contracts will be renewed, or not.

Employees have allegedly not been working for two months.

A source told Daily Sun the show was waiting for the SABC to kick-start the renewal process.

“Management sent them a letter two weeks ago, stating it would contact them after finalisation,” said the source.

“The letter was sent after two months of no communication.

“The cast is upset because if they are not brought back for a new season, they should have been told already. They are now sitting at home not knowing their fate.

“They don’t know whether to look for other jobs or not.”

Another issue was the festive season.

“Obviously, it requires money. Some are breadwinners and it has been tough for them,” said the source.

Another source, who is part of the soapie’s team, said although this had happened before, it never stretched out this long.

“We are left in the dark, not knowing if we will be called back or not.

“Every year in August and September, we take a break. But, a new season usually starts in October. This year, we’re still not back at work.”

Word Of Mouth Pictures publicist Thanduxolo Jindela referred the Sun Team to the SABC.

Executive producer and creator of Muvhango, Duma ka Ndlovu said they were waiting for the SABC, and could not confirm on when actors would be called back.

“We are waiting for the SABC to issue us with a contract. It is busy working on the contract, and we don’t know the finer details.”

SABC group executive for corporate affairs and marketing Gugu Ntuli said: “The SABC takes all negotiations entered into seriously and will always ensure due diligence and all processes are followed.

“It must be noted that due to Muvhango’s lifespan, the cumulative value of the production has increased. This means the contract requires additional approvals via National Treasury.”

Muvhango’s Shaz (Candy Magidimisa) blesses herself with new car

The beautiful and talented Candy Magidimisa has treated herself to a swanky new car. The actress who plays the role of Sharon “Shaz” Mukwevho, Rendani’s half-sister, on SABC 2 soapie Muvhango, took to social media to show off the swanky new ride.

However, the Muvhango actress was rather coy about sharing the full details of her new ride. She did not reveal the make and model of the vehicle and only shared a picture of the vehicle. Covered under a tarpaulin.

Candy captioned the image, “Better Days. God is faithful.”

Former Muvhango actress Buhle Samuels who shot to fame playing the role of the vixen Matshidiso Mofokeng congratulated Candy on the new vehicle. Buhle Samuels wrote, “Congratulations.”

Another Muvhango actress, Innocentia Manchidi who plays the role of Rendani Mukwevho, also congratulated her on-screen sister on the purchase. Innocentia wrote, “Congratulations ku nana.”

Many of Muvhango’s followers commented on Shaz’s post, congratulating the actress on her new car.

The new car comes a few months after Candy Magidimisa took back control from trolls by putting together a collection of memes made about her on social media in an album.

The meme collection was launched on “Muvhango”’s social media channels on June 15.

Candy, whose face has been used as a meme by hundreds of social media users, says the aim is to show people that they can turn whatever is meant to humiliate them into humour.
