Musician Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo has pulled a no-show due to non-payment.

He was supposed to perform at Njengabantu Peace Park in Durban at an event called Party at the Park featuring Mampintsha.

The event was scheduled for Saturday, 1 May. However, he decided to cancel his performance.

Hours before the event, Mampintsha called out event organisers to contact him.

“Promoters of this event must call me otherwise this is getting out of hand. I haven’t received my full payment, and I’ve been trying to phone them since yesterday. Today I have five gigs. if they don’t pay in full, I might not attend this particular event,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

An hour later he announced that he will no longer part of the event due to non-payment.

Across the posts he wrote the words: “Full payment not received.”
He later deleted all the posts relating to the event.

His posts attracted a lot of criticism as his followers felt he failed to handle the situation in a professional manner. They felt he was being petty and shouldn’t have disclosed their contractual details.

Siyanda Kunene said: “Now you are behaving like a child. There was no need to go into details about this. You should have just announced the cancellation of your performance and stopped there.”

Ntokozo Ndlovu said: “Very unprofessional and immature of you to go public and put such a bold sign that the promoters didn’t pay you and as a result you will not be part of the event. You could have handled this announcement differently,”

Other Facebook users said that he was the last person to demand a full payment because sometimes he does not honour his gigs.

“Why is he even demanding a full payment when he hasn’t performed. I am asking because he has a tendency of not pitching, even though he was paid and he would not mention that,” commented Thandeka Hlabisa.

Mampintsha’s mom speaks out after her viral video, reveals how Babes Wodumo tricked her to not go to their wedding

Babes Wodumo has been accused of being rude and turning Mampintsha against his family.

Mampintsha’s mum, Zamanguni Gumede-Zuma, (65) told the publication Babes hurt them during the couple’s recent wedding ceremony.

“Mampintsha sent a car to take us to the mall to buy clothes for his wedding.

Mampintsha’s phone was off and we suspected Babes hid it.

“Her sister Nondumiso called to say she’d transfer money and to take as many clothes as we could because Shomax was paying.”

Zamanguni said they waited for the money to be transferred, but it wasn’t.

“We became the laughing stock in the store when we had to bring back the clothes.

“When we called Nondumiso, she said she was still waiting for Showmax. When we called again, Nondumiso and Babes ignored our calls.”

She alleged this was Babes’ tricks to stop them from attending the wedding.

“She’s a bad influence and misled Mampintsha to conduct their wedding at the hotel and not introduce it to his ancestors. How can this marriage be successful without our blessings?

“We burn incense to report it to our ancestors and ask for blessings. Babes is misleading Mampintsha to abandon his culture and they’ll pay for it.”

Zamanguni said culturally, Mampintsha belongs to her in her home.

“We were supposed to burn incense for him, but they didn’t do it because Babes claimed to be Christian.”

She said many cultural practices were allegedly not done before the wedding, including paying lobola properly.

Mampintsha’s sister, Pinky, (48) said: “Babes doesn’t like my mum. Each time she visits she fights with mum, accusing her of abandoning Mampintsha.”

Contacted for comment, Babes said, “Hawema! Abantu bamaphepha. Bhabhayi, bhuti (It’s the newspaper people, goodbye, brother)”, before hanging up.

Her sister and manager Nondumiso rejected Daily Sun’s calls and didn’t respond to text messages.

Mampintsha past is clearly a sore point for the West Ink frontman, and the brother is currently working on fixing his public image if his latest actions are anything to go by.

The musician and businessman as one-third of the iconic kwaito group, Big Nuz, was celebrated and lauded by his fan base and South Africans everywhere. But it seems that the separation of the group following the passing of R Mashesha marked a downward public image trajectory for Mr Shimora. To go through it when we have been taught to drink water would be futile, but here are some “highlights.”

Of course his relationship with Babes Wodumo did the most damage to his public image. All it took was a single Metro FM interview when the revelation of Bhut’ Madlisa’s abusive ways to start the snowball effect. Then came the video that provided that even big-boned men can aspire to be Michael Jordan- if you get it, you get it. And then there was the almost airing of what would have been the South African version of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown’s tragic reality show. A show that the couple worked to making sure it never sees the light of day.

His solo music career has left much to be desired too. Mampintsha since going solo has had lukewarm singles that have not managed to capture South African’s attention like his days back with Big Nuz. And what could have been a big song, “As’Trende,” by Prince Kaybee was quickly canned after Prince Kaybee could not stand the heat in the kitchen. This was after fans dragged Prince Kaybee for filth for endorsing a known and proven abuser.

But Mampintsha is working his hardest to make sure that his public image is better curated. First, it was with the announcement of him proposing to Babes Wodumo, and girl saying yes. The engaged couple followed those news with the announcement that they will finally have a reality show, which will not play them dirty that way Moja Love almost did.

Recently on Instagram, Mampintsha shared a video of himself in studio. The session was “lit” ‘literally. The smoke in the room is apparent, and the fact that they are mostly topless says it all. However, Shimora in the video can be seen actively trying to prevent his entourage from flouting the alcohol they were consuming. He has since deleted the video, but those who know-know.

Big Nuz star Mampintsha caused a stir on social media this week when he posted a snap of limited-edition Air Jordan 1 High OG Dior sneakers worth more than R170,000.

Since then, fans have been posting about the shoes, including cheap replicas of the sneakers.

Mampintsha brought the fun to his page, posting a pair of the shoes unboxed on the carpet.
A collaboration between Jordan and Paris fashion house Dior, the sneakers originally retailed at $2,200 (just under R37,000) but their value has skyrocketed since the launch earlier this year.

Reputable shoe trading service StockX listed the last sale of the shoe for a cool R171,478. The average asking price on the site is listed between R171,822 and R258,510.

Fans went crazy at the thought of Mampintsha dropping so much cash on a pair of sneakers and flooded his comments section, questioning if it was real.

While some thought he was out here posting some Small Street specials, others pointed to his credentials of wearing Gucci and LV in the past, to show that he had enough coins to afford the real thing.

Most just begged him to tell the truth and come clean about whether he really got them from Jordan or China Mall. All they got in response was a cryptic comment, “Let’s talk again, boys”.

Mampintsha lost his ‘costly’ iPhone charger and he is conveying a compensation for the cheat to bring it back.

The artist who is as of now investing a great deal of energy making new music, has concluded that he won’t accepting another charger since it is costly, he would prefer to issue out a prize of R800.

His tirade has fans expecting that the West Ink originator is enraged by the vanishing of his charger yet they can’t resist the urge to giggle at him for making an immense arrangement out of this.

Shimora shared voice notes on his Instagram account where he sounds rankled by the guilty party saying he wouldn’t like to name and disgrace.
