L’VOVO DERRANGO MOURNS THE DEATH OF HIS MOTHER

Award-winning musician L’vovo is in mourning. The kwaito star’s mother died on Wednesday, 14 July. Speaking to Daily Sun, L’vovo said he is heartbroken.

“I can’t even begin to describe how I am feeling right now as she was my everything. She was my advisor, pillar of strength and my biggest supporter. I do not know how I am going to continue with this life thing without her. I feel lonely when I think about the good times we shared,” he said.

“I know it’s going to take time for me to heal but it warms my heart that she passed on knowing what kind of a man that her child has become, as well as that I would have done everything to make her happy while she was alive like she did for me.”

He said complications started after she went for second jab of the Covid-19 vaccine.

“She went for the first jab, and she was okay. But problems started after she went for her second dose. She started feeling and it continued up until the day she died. She was never someone who got sick very often but all we can do now is accept and let our hearts heal,” he said.

The talented musician described his mum as loving, caring and God-fearing.

“She loved people and taught me to be the respectful man I am today. I wouldn’t be the person I am today if it was not for her and I’m going to miss her dearly,” he said.

The Durban-based star said the details of the funeral service have not yet been confirmed.

“But we are looking into burying her this coming weekend. But all relevant details will be shared accordingly because at this very moment we don’t know what tomorrow holds for us due the protests that have been happening in the country,” he said.

If you are an avid L’vovo fan then you might have noticed he has not released any music. He has spoken out recently and revealed the reason he has not been active when it comes to his music.

A fan asked him why he has not released any music and that the industry misses him, he simply said he cannot sing properly because he is very concerned about what is happening in the country.

“I cannot sing when my spirits are not high! I have hits with so many SA artists I’ve recorded and kept. I won’t release them. We need to fix this country first or else the country will be gone for good if we don’t wake up!”

The musician who has given us many hits over the years started to voice out his concerns a long time ago and continues to do so without any fear of any repercussions. His recent tweets call for citizens to wake up.

“Something is happening in South Africa that people are not aware. Those with eyes that can see beyond the rainbow already know there’s a revolution brewing… People are poor. You cannot lie to people forever!

“SA is ignoring the grievances of South Africans! Something is brewing… It’s getting worse every day! Listen to your people!” he tweeted.

Even with issues such as human trafficking, L’vovo remains vocal.

“Good morning South Africa. Time for action has arrived, tweets are great but we need to start acting. All our problems can be fixed if we just unite and tackle them together. We are all we got, not politicians will save you, no pastor or anyone besides US! WE WILL WIN!!!”

He even pointed out how easy it is for such operations to happen when the country has police officers as well as soldiers who protect borders.

“How do all these trafficked people leave the country? No passports or Visas. Do you realize that we are dealing with a much more organized syndicate than we thought?” he questioned.”

Earlier this week police minister Bheki Cele said the national outcry against human trafficking is a publicity stunt, many citizens were not happy and Rami Chuene put him on blast.

“Ndosi should have gracefully declined to return as police minister. He’s drowning. The lack of action on #GBV issues, human trafficking, etc. portray him as one who’s lost touch with the protection of the country and its citizens,” she said.

Kwaito veteran L’vovo Derrango has recently made it his mission to use his platforms to help “voiceless” South Africans, by advocating for them on issues that are close to his heart.

Even though he’s been active on social media for a while, a few month of lockdown nudged L’vovo in the right direction. It dawned on him that his social media platform could help bring about change that matters.

Speaking to TshisaLIVE, L’vovo said he was merely doing his part.
It’s mistake [if people think that] I’m not into politics, but I’m raising things that are affecting us as South Africans. I’m not a politician and I will never be a politician, but I’m raising my voice,” he said.

I am the voice to the voiceless. There are people that can’t speak, and if we don’t [raise] our voices to the president or to the nation, they will think we are fine with everything that is happening, and they will just carry on.

“There is nothing wrong with voicing your opinions. If people wanna sponsor you they will sponsor you and if they don’t want to sponsor you, they won’t – but your voice must and will be heard.

“We need to not sugar-coat things. We need to be straightforward with the people and, for me, what you see is what you [get]. So for me, if you want to sponsor me, you must expect that I will be voicing my [views] . If I’m not happy with something, I’ll say [it].
