Former Miss SA and radio host Liesl Laurie-Mthombeni revealed why she only posted her husband, medical doctor and entertainer Musa Mthombeni on Instagram after he proposed to her – via an Instagram Story on Thursday 25 January. Former Miss SA Liesl Laurie had a Q&A session on Instagram. One of her followers asked her why she did not post her now husband, medical doctor and entertainer Musa Mthombeni on Instagram before he proposed to her. Why did you hide your relationship with Musa until you guys got engaged? Love you guys and how he loves you,” asked a follower.

The beauty queen and radio host then revealed that she had a joke about the next time she posts a man on social media would be the day he proposed to her. She went on to explain that Musa then agreed that it was a deal and the day he proposed to her, he told her that he would be posting. Take a look…

“After a previous relationship ended a few years ago. I had a running joke that the next time I post a man on my page will be the day he proposes to me. I mentioned this to Musa when we first starting hanging out and he responded with the words ‘ok it’s a deal then.’ On the day he proposed and I said yes he said ‘I’m posting ne?” she responded.

Before Musa, Liesl was in a public relationship with Idols SA host Tebogo Sidney Thapelo Thekisho, popularly known as Proverb. The pair were in a relationship for three years before calling it quits in 2018.

After Musa and Liesl announced their engagement, many Tweeps brought up Proverb. However, the medical doctor almost instantly stood up for his then-fiancée and asked Tweeps to stop being weird.

Popular South African model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss South Africa 2015, Liesl Laurie served an unusual photo of herself with teary eyes and explained that it’s not always rosy which is normal.

She further explained the reason for the teary eyes in a lengthy post.

“I woke up before 6 this morning feeling extremely overwhelmed by everything. I don’t know if it’s the last quarter of the year push or just general anxiety to “kill it” at everything,” she wrote.

She talked about how watching the Barbie movie left her in deep thought, about how women are expected to be perfect.

“When watching the Barbie movie Gloria’s (America Ferrera) monologue resonated with me so much because it highlighted the impossible double standard of being a woman.”

“We have to always be extraordinary, but somehow we’re always doing it wrong. You have to be thin, but not too thin. And you can never say you want to be thin. You have to say you want to be healthy, but also you have to be thin…”

“I resonated with many different parts to the monologue and I’ve come to accept that some days will really just give you a moerse punch in the gut. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I show up 100% for work, gym, family time etc so today I’m showing up 100% to my crying session. Tomorrow? We shall see what tomorrow brings. We trust God for the joy he brings in the morning,” she concluded.

However, Liesl appreciated her husband Musa Mthombeni for being the best to her during this challenging time.

Liesl and Musa shared videos and photos revealing the fun they had in Mauritius and the different meals they ate. The vacation has ended and they are planning their next trip as it is their plan to travel the world together.

“That’s a wrap for Mauritius. Someone asked if we were on a world tour and my answer was YES. WHERE SHOULD WE VISIT NEXT? All travel recommendations welcome,” Liesl wrote.

Mzansi’s favourite couple, Lisel Laurie and Dr. Musa Mthombeni went to the United States for New Years Eve and vlogged their experience touring popular spots in New York City.

The doctor-turned-media personality said that his stunning wife gifted him with a two-day trip to New York as a Christmas present.

While sharing a picture of their passports at Oliver Thambo International Airport (O.R Thambo), Musa said,

“Baby girl booked me (and my new girl with silver hair) a trip overseas over New Years,” he added.

The South African presenter praised Liesl’s enormous generosity by saying that he had the best wife and shared that he did not know what he had done to deserve such an incredible soul mate.

On the first day of the trip, the former Miss South Africa and her husband could be seen out on the town, exploring the City.

The South African model posted pictures out and about where she captioned that the jetlag had caught up with her and Musa. She admitted that the fatigue attempted to ruin their date night at one Asian fusion restaurant in downtown New York. She wrote

“Date night ??We were cute shame, but by frame 5 & 6 the jet lag was HAVING us. It was only 18:47 and we were RUINED guys, RUINED.”

The happily-married couple could be seen making memories as they counted down into 2023 on top of the Empire State Building.

“Saw the ball drop (well, not completely- it was making its way so that still counts) in Time Square before the boss of the house decided “home” would be a better option for the countdown-blame old age and sore knees…

“Incredible night and what a way to kick start the year ? The parents are tired now. They need to rest their tired old bones and get ready for tomorrows adventures,” Liesl captioned

Liesl Laurie, a South African model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss South Africa 2015 surprises her grandmother with a new car.

The former Miss SA shared a photo revealing how excited her gogo was with the new gift.

Liesl feels blessed for being able to pamper and treat her grandma well while she’s still alive.

She thanked her husband, Musa Mthombeni for assisting in pulling a successful surprise for her.

“It is only by the Grace of God that I am able to do this for my grandmother. Thank you for being Ouma Laurie (Lola) to me, to your family, the church, and the greater Eldorado Park. You deserve this. I love you!!!”

“I am so grateful that I could spoil my ouma whilst she is still here on earth with us. To my amazing husband, thank you for helping me pull this off. I love you so much,” Liesl added.

Liesl Laurie announced her exit from Jacaranda FM

Liesl Laurie announced her exit from Jacaranda FM on Tuesday afternoon. The former Mis SA who is also a radio personality will be leaving after 7 years on the radio station.

The radio station broke the news. They wrote, “Liesl started her journey at Jacaranda FM on Sunday evenings 08:00 pm to midnight, went on to host her own show – The CTM Top 20 with Liesl Laurie every Saturday, and eventually joined radio master – Martin Bester as part of the breakfast show on weekdays.

Liesl is grateful for the growth and experience garnered over the years from 2016 till June 30, 2022.

“Saying goodbye is never easy, I’m going to miss the morning family as well as Martin and the JacaBreakfast team, but I’m so thankful for this experience and to have grown in a medium I have so much love and respect for.

Social media bullies leave former Miss SA Liesl Laurie in tears

Former Miss SA, Liesl Laurie decides to be real on social media, as it’s rare for you to see celebs come out about their pain and sadness on social media. Taking to Instagram, the radio presenter shared a photo of herself which obviously disclosed her teary eye.

In a note shared on social media, Liesl said she’s been sick and it’s made her sad, exhausted. However, she decides to tell her story to the public.

“Nobody is posting their bad days on social media…” I remember scrolling past a post from @natasha_joubert about everyone having a bad/overwhelming day/week every now and then and I related to it so so much. Little did I know that my overwhelming and exhausting day was just around the corner. I’ve been feeling sick, and thus feeling sad, overwhelmed, exhausted, impatient, anxious, needy… We have all been here in this “breakdown” spot, and if you’re asking me, I say that is COMPLETELY OK,” she said.
