This was after several unsuccessful attempts in the past. It was reported that his father tried to save him after the helper found him. Lerato’s life after her husband’s passing has been a rollercoaster as she does not see eye to eye with his family. Lerato was in a two-year legal dispute with HHP’s family over her status as the rapper’s customary wife. The Supreme Court of Appeal dismissed an appeal by HHP’s father ,Robert Tsambo, to have the marriage revoked. Tsambo has since passed away.

In the show, Lerato walks viewers through her life as a widow. She is joined by Mandoza’s wife and stroke survivor Mpho Tshabalala, broadcaster and philanthropist Sikelelwa Ngubane, who is the widow of actor Menzi Ngubane, businesswoman Fundiswa Molefe, the widow of businessman John Molefe and businesswoman Lerato Maphatsoe, the widow of the former deputy Minister of Defence Kebby Maphatsoe. Lerato says she decided to be part of the show after realising that being widowed is treated like a colossal taboo. “No one wants to talk about it, but it’s a day-to-day reality for millions of people,” she says. “Throughout my journey as a young widow, I realised that black widows, specifically, have it harder. It’s a generational curse and pattern. Women can’t speak openly about these experiences, they can’t speak about the pain and the journey to rediscovering themselves after loss.

Lerato says stories of young widow are rare. “The fact that you have to wear all black when your husband dies is just a ‘scarlet letter’ to let people know that you’re now a widow, so everyone must feel pity for you and avoid you like a plague,” Lerato says adding that society has made it very difficult to be a widow. “When you show up for each other you are ridiculed and it’s called ‘trauma bonding’, instead of seeing it as a support system. In that moment of loss, you want someone who understands what you’re going through and who will help validate your emotions and feelings.” She wants to show her reality and let people know that it’s not easy. “It is nothing to be ashamed ofand you’re not alone,” Lerato concludes.

Lerato Sengadi, the widow of the late Hip Hop Pantsula, has allegedly found love with a man who is HHP’s look-alike. According to Zimoja, Lerato Sengadi is now dating a new man and she has been out and about with him at several events.

The publication alleges that Lerato Sengadi has found love at the hands of her new bae who friends say is looking to put a ring on it.

“The two met through a mutual friend and are so madly in love. They have been going out together, but their most recent public appearance was at Zakes Bantwini show at the luxurious Rockefeller Rooftop Hotel in Cape Town and they couldn’t keep their hands off each other. They had their little corner and took breaks in between to cuddle and smoke. Everyone could see the girl is in love.”

The publication then alleges that she is keeping this relationship private and to herself. The PR guru commented on these Rumours and said she was at Zakes Bantwini’s event however with a guy friend. She does however deny being in a relationship.

“Maybe in the new year,” she apparently said.

Lerato once exposed her husband’s family of keeping her out of the Unveiling plans. She also said it was the first time she saw his son Leano in four years.

“My family and I were not informed about my husband’s unveiling. I had zero say or input on his tombstone or inscription. I was not invited. Like everyone on socials, it was my first time seeing Leano in four years,” she wrote.

“Like I said, their evil and malice knows no boundaries. But Modimo le Motho see this … and they will take action accordingly.”

Remembering the late Hip Hop star, she wrote, ”Angel Of Mine. Time flies yet it also feels like it’s standing still. Every year when this day comes I choose to celebrate ur life & what you are to so many of us. Thank You to every single person who loves & still supports Jabba. His legacy is in OUR hands. Motho wa Motho… you already know what it is! Ka pelo le moya.”

“‘As’ by Stevie Wonder says it all. October will always be bitter sweet. It is the month that the world gained me and the month I lost my world. Motho waka, Lerato la pelo yaka, I miss u every single second, of every single day… and it will be so until we are reunited. Ke go rata ka mmele, pelo le moya. (Sidebar: Nna le Motho waka were always so oulik. Tjeeerrrr! Bona fela!”.

Lerato is working on keeping his memory alive. Just like on his 40th birthday, Lerato slaughtered a goat and made African beer in his honour to appease his ancestors. Thereafter, a celebration brunch in Jabba’s honour was held by HomeComing Events. There are many more to come.

Renowned publicist and HHP’s widow Lerato Sengadi has revealed that neither she nor her family received an invite from her late husband’s family to the unveiling of his tombstone at the weekend.

On Tuesday, Lerato took to her Twitter timeline to explain why she did not attend the unveiling. “My family and I were not informed about my husband’s unveiling. I had zero say or input on his tombstone or inscription. I was not invited. Like everyone on socials, it was my first time seeing Leano in four years,” she wrote. “Like I said, their evil and malice knows no boundaries. But Modimo le Motho see this … and they will action accordingly.”

It’s public knowledge that Lerato has had a turbulent relationship with her in-laws.

The cracks became visible after HHP’s suicide, in October 2018, when the Tsambo family, led by the rapper’s father, attempted to exclude her from all funeral arrangements because they didn’t recognise her as his customary wife.

With Lerato having to turn to the courts, the Gauteng South High Court later, recognised her as HHP’s lawful customary wife after the lobola negotiations and wedding ceremony that took place in February 2016.

At HHP’s funeral service many noticed Lerato was excluded from the tributes, seated apart from the Tsambo family, and how the late rapper’s sister acknowledged everyone except her. Speaking to TshisaLIVE, HHP’s sister Ayanda Tsambo came to the family’s defence saying because it was an intimate gathering, there were a lot of people who were not invited.

“She was not the only one who was not invited so we owe quite a few people an apology for leaving them out … we just thought she was going to invite herself, we even reserved a seat for her … It was a private gathering mostly reserved for close family.” she said.

Rapper and former Morafe group member Lerothodi “Towdeemac” Moagi was at the unveiling

“We were honoured to be able to represent many who couldn’t make it to the unveiling. We would like to assure them that the occasion went well and that they are welcome to visit Jabba at Hero’s Acres (Matlalong) in Mahikeng.” he said. Towdeemac expressed his appreciation to HHP’s frail mother who suffers from Parkinson’s disease for still going ahead with the event to honour her late son.

“We are also extremely appreciative of Mama their Tsambo (Jabba’s mom) who, in her sickly state, had the courage to honour her late son, against all odds. We hail her as Queen Mother of Motswako.”

Lerato Sengadi narrates the hell she’s been through within the past four years after the passing of her lover and husband, HHP. The rapper’s death made her lose valuable properties like their house, dogs, valued possession, and her stepson.

Opening up to Drum, the star said it’s been a traumatic experience, and she’s still battling with Jabba’s family as they see her marriage with their son as null and void. On the day the rapper got buried in 2018, the family didn’t honour her as the deceased wife; she had to legally fight for where her late lover should get buried.

“I am going to the Constitutional Court to ensure that to any other female. Because of my case, Checkers has a lobola form that you can buy and make sure that during your negotiations there is a full checklist and it is an essential value of the contract,” she says.

“The case has been going on for the past three years. With lockdown, we couldn’t proceed with the court case and now they are taking me to the ConCourt and I am, like, ‘Great!’ I have won at the Supreme Court of Appeal, but they still want to fight the two rulings of the two courts and their last stop, the only place that they can do that, is the ConCourt.”

“She says this is bigger than her, and she hasn’t seen her stepson ever since the day his dad died. “We lived in the same home, we co-raised him. It is painful, but you know what? We’ll find each other – that’s a definite. I know his father will make it happen,” she says.

“They are taking me there because they are trying to [make my marriage] null and void. I [allegedly] didn’t get married which has been their whole thing, therefore I can’t work on my husband’s legacy, I can’t live in our home because I am not his wife.

Lerato said they got married traditionally which is more valid than a white wedding. She’s spent all on the court fight and she’s willing to see it till the very end.

“I have learned that life is short. I didn’t think I’ll be a widow and lose the love of my life at 34. I didn’t think I’d lose everything that I held dear to me. Why, having learned all of that, will I not want to live life every day? Lerato still want to get married again and have kids.

Though the family did not reveal the cause of his death, there have been reports that Riky, who spoke openly about his battle with chronic depression, may have committed suicide.

It will never make sense to people, you’ve never gone through this journey. But you never know the battles that people are fighting. No one wakes up and chooses randomly (to) say ‘I’m going to take my life.’

“That’s not how it works. People who suffer from any form of mental illness choose to live or fight to live every day, and that’s brave because it’s not something completely easy to live with.

“I think the important thing is that we start insisting that men seek help, that men go to therapy, that they do the necessary pain to avoid the pain that they themselves are going through and the pain they will leave behind when they say they ‘can’t’ anymore.”

She also sends a message of condolence to the grieving family. My heart completely bleeds for his family, for his wife for his kids, for him. B (Bianca) my heartbreak for you and the babies and the family. I hope Riky knows how much we loved him and we continue to love him.”

She went on to encourage fans to be kind on social media “We live in difficult times, every week we lose someone. Every week we plan funerals. It’s just so painful.

“I really beg everyone on social media to be kind, and not use people as punching bags, and not use people’s lives as click baits. We just need more kindness because you don’t know what people are going through behind closed doors.
