Cassper Nyovest Confirms That His New Album Has No Amapiano Tracks

Cassper Nyovest has been in his quiet era for the past couple of months. The rapper and businessman spent the best part of last year securing the money bags which were outside of his music career. This includes the likes of his celebrity boxing matches, his alcoholic brand Billiato and enforcing his working relationship with apparel brand Drip for his Root of Fame apparel.

All this silence can be credited to Cassper’s sole focus this year to returning to making hit songs that have a lasting impact. This an elusive matter for the rapper during 2022 as all the tracks he released in the year seemed to have all failed to have a lasting impact.

However, this year Cassper is seemingly focused on making his hits again. As such, the rapper is sharing what fans can expect from the upcoming new album.

Cassper Nyovest confirms new album is Amapiano free

Taking to Twitter, Cassper recently shared an update on what his fans can expect from his upcoming album. Cassper made it clear that this upcoming album is meant to flex his lyricism which has been continually questioned given just how many viral flatlined freestyles that Nyovest has.

As such, Cassper tweeted:

“This album is perfect. I might not drop a single. I might just drop the whole project so it’s received in context. I don’t want any confusion so, the song that is dropping before the album isn’t a single. It’s a campaign. It’s a dope song but it’s not the sound of the album.”

Bashimane Baka might be the campaign single that Cassper is talking about as it was reported that:

…It seems that Cassper is ready to reveal what he was working on during his music workshop. This comes after his recent performance where he shared a snippet of the new music he was working on. As promised, it is Hip-Hop and it seems that Cassper is readying another Hip-Hop classic.

This comes after snippets of the track loosely titled Bashimane Baka have been touted as an upcoming hit by Cassper’s fans. This a believable sentiment when considering the track’s lyricism that sees Cassper infusing Kwaito elements in his upcoming single as he dabbles in isiZulu rhymes.

As such, Cassper has made it clear that this album will be Amapiano-free as he tweeted:

Despite this fact, Cassper still continues to work with popular Amapiano leading female vocalists. This is as he recently shared his studio session with Vula Mlomo hitmaker Nobantu Vilakazi. The two teased the music they have been working on via Instagram.

Cassper Nyovest is excited about his forthcoming album.

Following months of focusing on himself and his family, the rapper says he will be dropping a Hip-Hop album.

Taking to Twitter, Nyovest spoke about the project, which he described as perfect.

“This album is perfect. I might not drop a single. I might just drop the whole project so it’s received in context. I don’t want any confusion so, the song that is dropping before the album isn’t a single. It’s a campaign. It’s a dope song but it’s not the sound of the album,” he wrote.

Speaking about the genre of the album, Cassper wrote, “No Piano on the album AT ALL. The last piano verse I did was a song called Hokoto by Hbk live act. The song killing it on the streets. After that, I locked in and I made my best Hip Hop album at 32 years old.”

Cassper Nyovest might have flourished in terms of his business ventures back in 2022. Whether it was establishing and pioneering celebrity boxing matches in South Africa, his alcoholic beverage Billiato getting its first ambassador, or the revamping of his merchandise line Roof of Fame. Cassper was in his business bag last year.

However, while his business ventures seemed to flourish, it was his musical career that seemed to ebb. This is as all of his releases of 2022 seemed to fizz out as quickly as they were released. As reported:

Cassper Nyovest promised that his upcoming album was touted as a Hip-Hop album. He even suggested that this album will see him return to focusing on writing bars. A fact which surprised many considering the amount of slack he receives for his penmanship of late.

As such, he began the rollout for the album through attempting “unconventional” releases. First, it was the surprise release of his lead single Put Your Hands Up. While Cassper suggested on social media that the single was instrumental in reviving Hip-Hop as it did initially climb the Apple Music charts. Anyone who can say they remember the song today, is clearly a Cassper fan.

However, in light of the increasing criticism, it seems that Cassper got serious about producing a hit and it seems that his fans seem to believe that Nyovest might have a hit this time around.

Cassper Nyovest believed to be back at making hits

For the better part of March 2023, Cassper was not as active much on Twitter which was a rarity for the rapper. However, he did return to the blue app to confirm that his silence on the timeline was because he was at the music workshop working on new music, Hip-Hop specifically.

Now it seems that Cassper is ready to reveal what he was working on during his music workshop. This comes after his recent performance where he shared a snippet of the new music he was working on. As promised, it is Hip-Hop and it seems that Cassper is readying another Hip-Hop classic.

This comes after snippets of the track loosely titled Bashimane Baka has been touted as an upcoming hit by Cassper’s fans. This a believable sentiment when considering the track’s lyricism that sees Cassper infusing Kwaito elements in his upcoming single as he dabbles in isiZulu rhymes.

Currently, it is unclear when the single is actually scheduled for release. However, one aspect that Cassper will not have to worry about if the single and subsequent album is a hit, is comparisons to his late music arch-nemesis AKA.

This is as AKA’s last album Mass Country is currently nominated for the upcoming SAMAs, meaning that if Cassper does put his album up for consideration, it will only be nominated next year.

Mzansi rapper, celebrity boxer and entrepreneur Cassper Nyovest was spotted at the Sandton nightspot, Booth Sandton, playing AKA and KDDO’s hit single, “Company” while DJing over the weekend.

The “Siyathanda” hitmaker was at the club promoting his alcohol brand, Billiato, and showcasing his taste in music with an unexpected DJ set of hip-hop and Amapiano.

“Cassper Nyovest @casspernyovest was playing AKA @akaworldwide joint titled #Company feat KDDO @KDDO__ in club ❤️ #RIPAKA #ThePlvg #MassCountry,” posted @ThePlvgM.

Nyovest has been showing love to the Supa Mega, who was once his fiercest rival, since he was murdered earlier in the year.

“Company”, which was released a week before AKA’s album, “Mass Country”, came out, has been a fan favourite from the album.

Since its release, “Company” has consistently been among the top three most streamed songs across various local digital streaming platforms and also topped the Rams radio monitor chart for four weeks in a row, making it the best charting local song of the year so far.

“I wasn’t expecting to find myself with a smile on my face seeing Cassper nyovest play AKA ‘s song Company ,” one fan tweeted.

AKA’s co-manager, Nhlanhla “Nivo” Ndimande, recently explained that “Company” was the last song recorded on the project and that the beat was produced by KDDO and sent to AKA years ago before they stumbled on it again earlier in the year.

KDDO, who AKA previously collaborated with on his hit single “Fela In Versace”, joined AKA in Los Angeles in January to work on finishing the song as they rushed to wrap up the album.

On Monday morning, AKA’s team announced that the album’s lead single, “Lemons (Lemonade)” had just hit 5 million views on YouTube. It’s AKA’s fifth video to hit that mark following “Jika”, “Fela In Versace”, “Caiphus Song” and “The World Is Yours”.
