Former Scandal! actor and dancer Hungani Ndlovu is the new Thabo “Tbose” Maputla on the popular SABC1 soapie, Skeem Saam.

The Joburg-based actor said the role, which was previously played by Cornet Mamabolo, was a challenging one to take on but he was excited as it would allow him to grow.

The 29-year-old told the publication it was a big role as it was recast of a pre-existing character and it took him out of his comfort zone.

“I am super excited about this role. It’s a huge opportunity to be on a show like Skeem Saam,” he said.

Hungani said he had to change his mindset to connect with his character, Tbose.

He said it was not about replacing Cornet as he’s irreplaceable, but rather about creating a new character for the audience to engage with.

“I had to work on a lot of things as an individual. I had to work on my insecurities as some people will love it while others won’t,” Hungani said.

Hungani, who played Romeo on Scandal!, said he feels blessed but also nervous at the same time.

“People can expect to see me returning as Tbose who left to go overseas. They are going to experience a different side of him,” he said.

Hungani said he’ll be causing a lot of havoc with his character.

“Going to the auditions for it was something else. At some point I thought I wasn’t going to get it as there were lots of great talents during the auditions,” he said.

The actor said he was already getting lots of support from his fans and family.

Hungani told Daily Sun said he’s going to surprise many viewers with his role, adding that he had to let God be in control and do his best.

He said he hopes the audience will enjoy his take on Tbose.

As fans of some of the leading YouTube personalities, we are learning that there is a lot of money to be made in the space. And seemingly, the best way to spend that money is to buy an expensive car for your significant other. A trend which was recently highlighted by Ghost Hlubi and his girlfriend Seemah.

However, it seems that more and more YouTubers are either taking inspiration from Ghost Hlubi or seem to have had the same thought about how to spend their money. The latest of which being the beloved local YouTube couple, Hungani and Stephanie Ndlovu, best known for their YouTube channel The Ndlovus Uncut.

The Ndlovus copy Ghost Hlubi and Seemah?
In June 2022, the Ndlovus tagged at the heart of many when they revealed details about the miscarriage they experienced. News that the couple seemed to have shared in light of the then impending announcement that they were now expecting their first child together, which was revealed in a subsequent video.

Following confirming that they were expecting their first child, they seemed to take a maternity and paternity break from YouTube as they adjusted to being first time-parent. However, in July and August 2022, the couple slowly returned to YouTube with videos sharing their pregnancy experience.

However, it was the latest video, which has us wondering if the couple was inspired by Ghost Hlubi and his girlfriend Seema’s latest video.

This is the recent video posted as a 10-minute video sharing the behind-the-scenes action during the couples pregnancy shoot. In the last two-minutes of the video, Hungani shares the surprise revelation of having bought his wife a luxury car as her “push gift.” For those not in the know, a push gift is the latest trend of gifting your partner with a gift for giving birth to one’s child.

While we cannot confirm, Stephanie’s reaction to the car does suggest that she knew about the car. Maybe, she did not know that the car was meant as her push gift. But from her reaction, she seemed happy for its arrival, but whether she was surprised about the fact, well…

Other YouTubers that have copied Ghost Hlubi
Hungani Ndlovu is not the only one to recently attempt to create the Ghost Hlubi and Seemah viral video. Another YouTuber was his friend and fellow YouTuber, Just Daddy G. While he was not intending on spending whatever money, he makes from YouTube on anyone. He did attempt to use his friend’s viral video to ask out someone on Twitter.

Unfortunately, despite the name Daddy G and his confident persona as a casanova on YouTube, it seems that his sauve-ness does not work on everyone. This is as the girl in question made it clear that she was not buying anything the YouTuber was selling, even if it was an expensive car.

Who knows, maybe more and more YouTubers will be buying cars for their significant others to prove just how much money there is in the YouTube space.

South African actors Stephanie and Hungani Ndlovu have opened up about their miscarriage in their new YouTube video.

The couple revealed they were expecting their first child but unfortunately miscarried at eight weeks.

The couple said it was the worst experience ever.

Taking to their YouTube channel The Ndlovus Uncut, Steph took a pregnancy test and it came back positive.

She had set up a hidden camera so she could surprise her husband.

Stephanie said out of excitement, that she had already started recording her first session/ scan at the doctors for her husband who couldn’t be in with her when she received the bad news. She said she was diagnosed with a blighted ovum.

“She literally did the scan and then she said I’m sorry there’s no embryo. She said I should take a moment I did not, I jumped off the bed I did not cry… nothing and I said nope I’m good. What do we do now? That’s sort of my coping mechanisms and strategies in life”

Steph then said the next steps would be that I would have had a D&C which is to go in surgery and sort of clean out the uterus and stuff but because it there was Covid-19 and those risks involved, the gynecologist recommended that I do the cleaning out at home using the medication.”

She said her husband was traumatized by what he saw her go through two years ago.

“I don’t think the gynae did a substantial job in explaining the experience you would have with this medication because I think one would’ve opted for the D&C regardless of even if it’s Covid-19 or not, said Hungani.

Speaking to young people, former Scandal! actor Hungani Ndlovu encouraged them to make the right choices in life.

At the Sisters Seminar Foundation, a youth empowerment seminar in Rethabile Community Hall in Mamelodi East, Tshwane, Hungani said: “What I wanted when I was growing up was to entertain people, which I’m doing now. I entertain people through dancing, music, and acting. I might not do all of them at the same time, right choices in life are important.”

He said he had to prove himself to his parents by joining talent shows and inviting them to his performances.

Hungani said people should be judged by discipline and making the right choices.

“I got into the industry through dancing. When you see me on social media dancing it is not just because I enjoy dancing, in fact that was my bread and butter for a long time,” said Hungani.

“Focus on yourself. Learn to love yourself and like yourself. Learn to enjoy time yourself and learn to compliment yourself,” he said.

Sisters Seminar Foundation organiser and founder Thapelo Makopo (23) said the event was about gender-based violence and youth empowerment.

He said the seminar that started in 2018 has great testimonies.

“This event is unique. We are giving back to the community.”

Hungani said they also donated sanitary pads, clothes and food parcels to poor communities.

Despite everything that’s transpired, today’s a big day for Hungani as he celebrates his 27th birthday. Here’s a look at the many times he had many people talking about him.

Ever since Hungani left Scandal, his fans have been wondering when he was going to make a comeback on the screen. Well, the wait is finally over as Hungani revealed the news that his project that he’s been working on is almost here and he can’t to share more information.

Ndlovu had been working on a new film that is set to change the South African film landscape. The movie is titled Ring of Beasts and the actor worked with filmmaker Adriano Miguel on the project.

From the time Hungani and Stephanie confirmed that they were a couple there have always been high expectations from them to keep serving couple goals as many were always routing for them.

Now that the couple finally tied the knot, the expectations have even become much higher making the couple feel like they have to walk on eggs shells so that they please everyone. But that’s not how life works.

Hungani and Stephanie opened up about the time they thought it was the end of the road for them.

When Hungani Ndlovu was first introduced to the character of Romeo Medupe in Scandal!, he was a troubled, intellectually gifted heir to the Newtonian. However, in his tenure, he has become a father, a husband, and a beloved character who will do anything to ensure that his family is taken care of.

What then came as a shock to many that had grown to love Romeo, was that he had been fired from Scandal. Although the rumors were quickly dismissed by the production team, they arose again when the actor took a sabbatical from the soapie.

Hungani Ndlovu came under a lot of fire from his followers who noticed that he was not regularly wearing his wedding ring. As a newlywed, this left many wondering what he was up to as he did not have his ring all the time.

When word first got out that Hungani was fired from the show, the rumours were that he demanded a salary increase. It was also claimed that he behaved very poorly hence the boot. A popular Sunday tabloid published an article which the headline reads, “Scandal! fires Romeo.”

Disputing the claims, Scandal tweeted, “There’s a published article circulating around that Hungani is leaving the show. As #etvScandal, we’re disputing every allegation stated in the article. Hungani has not been fired by production. We’re happy with his excellent professionalism and work ethic.”

Many were put to ease, knowing that he might return after being killed off on the show. Many were hopeful that he would rise from the dead just like many others but unfortunately, that won’t be the case.

Another publication claimed that Hungani had been offered a large salary increment ranging from R85 000 to R100 000. If this were true, that would make him one of the highest-paid actors in the country.

“Rumour has it that Romeo Medupe will now be earning at least between R85 000 and R100 000 per month…With this improved salary Hungani Ndlovu has become one of the most paid not only on Scandal but in Mzansi,” wrote Celeb Now.

However, this was disputed by Scandal producer who told Daily Sun that Romeo will not be returning and he was also not offered a salary increase. He said that Hungani requested leave to deal with personal issues which had nothing to do with Scandal! He then added that their relationship is positive and there is no bad blood.

Hungani’s great talent will not give him a hard time landing another role. Fans of Blood and Water couldn’t stop imagining Hungani on season two of the popular show and even he can see the vision. They were also hoping that director Nosipho Dumisa could hook the boy up.

Another great opportunity presented itself when American creator of the hit sitcom Black-ish, Kenya Barris took to his Instagram Live to speak highly of Hungani’s talent and revealed he would love to include him as the cast of Black-ish next season.

“I did some research on this young man and I was touched. The fact that he graduated for acting in Flii’Cademy in Los Angeles made him a star. And his work lately proves that he is the greatest because he is killing his role on Scandal!” said the producer.
