DJ Zinhle’s Umlilo Video Reaches 3 Million Views

DJ Zinhle's Umlilo Video Reaches 3 Million Views

DJ Zinhle’s Umlilo is, without doubt, a certified hit, it has even been certified multi-platinum and within its first three months, it reached over 5.1-million streams.

The song was even dubbed by fans as their song of the year for 2019, even though it didn’t officially win the Ukhozi FM’s 2019 Song Of The Year competition.

The DJ worked with upcoming artists Mvzzle and Rethabile on the hit single. Zinhle and Mvzzle meet on the set of SABC 1’s 1s and 2s, he sent then sent Africa’s number female one DJ three beats and Zinhle later then choose the beat that they would actually use.

Mvzzle explained to TshisaLIVE that after trying to work with different artists and recording conflicts delayed them. However, a DM from Rethabile to DJ Zinhle wanting to work with her saved the day.

The award-winning DJ earlier this year broke down the lyrics of the song that has become such a favourite amongst many people in Mzansi.

Zinhle, in an edition of Red Bull Live With, explained to Mo Flava about the exact meaning behind the hit song.

“There has been a big debate about ‘Umlilo’ because it’s such a big club or party song and people don’t know that its actually a sing that praises God. It talks about the wonders of God’s love and it is based on Bible scriptures which is amazing”, explained the DJ.

In celebration of the song’s success, DJ Zinhle released a second video for Umlilo in December and now just a few months later, the video has reached over 3 million views on Youtube.

AKA and DJ Zinhle’s bundle of joy, Kairo Forbes, is a true mini influencer in the making.

For proof, just peep at her Instagram account.

With her following nearly reaching one million, Kairo sure knows how to keep her stans entertained during lockdown.

With help from “Glammy” Lynn Forbes, who handles her Instagram account, Kairo showed Mzansi how she whips it up in the kitchen as she makes “play food” for her baby Thando.

In a video that will leave you saying, “Gosh, they grow up to fast”, Kairo can be seen in her playroom with baby Thando and a kitchen set behind her.

Like a true influencer would do it, Kairo started off the video ,that she did all by herself, by explaining what she would be making for her doll. She then took her stans through the process of making purple berry fruit.

Be warned, this video is too adorable for words.

Like a proud mother would, Zinhle commented on Kairo’s video: “Yes, you’re very creative my baby.”

Her glammy gave her video the thumbs up.

Zinhle previously expressed on The MVP Club that she was blessed to be raising a child like Kairo.

“She’s very independent, super-kind, very affectionate, very decisive — more decisive than me. I don’t know where she gets it. I’m a new parent so I don’t know if we taught her that or whether she came like that.

“She’s super-independent and I think the independence comes from how Kiernan and I are just always on the road and always at work.”

Minnie Dlamini disappointed with Cape Town residents

Mrs. Jones, Minnie Dlamini is disappointed in Capetonians! It’s day one of level four lockdown but people are already disobeying the Lockdown rules and regulations. Cape Town has been trending all day for not adhering to the rules. Mzansi is hopeless that level three will be reached anytime soon. People have been spotted walking around without masks or even practicing social distancing, which looks like a time ticking bomb.

Minnie Dlamini disappointed with Cape Town residents

Western Cape being the highest when it comes to the number of people infected, it doesn’t look like some residents are not even slightly bothered.

Sea Point was at its busiest this morning while people were out doing their exercises and taking walks they’ve been missing during the level five lockdown.

People are still shocked at this behavior. Some are pleading with Cape Townians to please adhere to the rules and some have lost hope in seeing the lockdown reach level one or even progressing to level three for that matter.

Some people are suggesting that the president locks down provinces according to how they’ve been behaving because if this isn’t the case, people who follow rules and regulations will end up feeling like they’re being punished for following the rules.

Actress Rami Chuene on why it is not wise for Shows to begin work

As the entire country tries to adjust in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, the arts and entertainment industry particularly has been struggling to get on its feet in the new normal, and actress Rami Chuene shared her thoughts on the decision to allow productions to go back to shooting.

As soon as President Cyril Ramaphosa announced the risk level approach of the national lockdown and the incoming level 4 that begins on Friday, May 1, there were a lot of questions surrounding what this would mean for TV productions.

As one of the most respected voices in the entertainment industry, Rami had a lot of questions about how productions planned to prioritize the safety of cast and crew if they were indeed insisting on going back to work. She had a number of pertinent questions that were “left hanging” in the conversation around the easing of restrictions for production houses.

“Are we all getting tested before we officially go back? Who’s paying for that? Production? Channel? Who is addressing physical and intimate contact? Will we have medics on set? Will thermal screening be done daily when we walk into the premises?” she asked.

Rami expressed her concern for the extent to which cast and crew’s safety would be ensured. She was also particularly worried that the “privilege” to go back to work was only given to a particular group of creatives.

Giving TV productions a chance to shoot but not affording the same chance for theatre productions didn’t sit well with Rami.

“Someone is not thinking this through. I’m saying the risks are the same! In fact, TV is worse if you’re there for 12 hours, but in the theatre for three hours. A lot has to be revisited. Let’s not make this about losing money and episodes. Because it looks like that’s what it comes down to.

One of Mzansi’s favourite telenovelas, The River, is gearing up to start shooting again from next week. Its creative producer Percy Vilakazi told TshisaLIVE earlier this week they had limited a lot of scenes to “skeleton” actors, with no extras on set.

“Although we don’t know the exact date, we are gearing up to go back to shooting. It would most likely be next week. I am trying to check the script to see what is feasible, as a lot of scenes will have skeleton actors and no extras. This entire day I will look at what can be best possible for the show while keeping the safety of the actors and crew in mind.”
