Wedding bells: Maps Maponyane reportedly set to marry ex-Miss SA Shudufhadzo Musida

Popular South African television personality Maps Maponyane is reportedly set to tie the knot with former Miss SA Shudufhadzo Musida.

It is alleged the couple are set to take the big step. The couple have been romantically linked since 2022.

Sources close to the couple suggest that a delegation has been sent to the village of Ha-Masia in Limpopo to ask for Shudufhadzo’s hand in marriage.

“Maps is serious about building a family unit with Shudufhadzo and he has contemplating on his decision for a while now, and it’s finally here. He can’t hide his intentions any longer as wedding bells are looming,” a source said.

Another source said: “His decision was made during their attendance at the HollywoodBets Durban July a few weeks ago. They have everything going for them in their careers.”

When pressed for comment by the publication, Maps didn’t confirm nor deny the allegations. He said: “You put me on the spot, you know I don’t like talking about my private life in the media (laughing). The thing is that I’m busy with my workout at the gym, hence I can’t talk properly (laughing).”

Efforts to reach Shudufhadzo drew a blank.

Former Miss SA Shudufhadzo Musiḓa is the picture of perfection, even after the festive season that usually sees most people gaining some extra kilos around the waist.

Shudu, as she’s commonly known, arrived back in South Africa on 19 December after the Miss World broadcast finale, which was set to take place on 16 December in Puerto Rico, had to be temporarily postponed due to several staff and contestants having tested positive for Covid-19.

Shudu might have temporarily stumbled over a hurdle after the postponement of the Miss World pageant, but it looks like she is full of positivity and ready to take on the new year.

“Super excited for the year ahead. To let go and let God,” she wrote on Instagram on Sunday.

Yesterday she delighted her fans with stunning pictures of her smiling on a white sandy beach wearing an orange bikini showing off her beautiful curves.

Countless celebrities including Pearl Modiadie, DJ Zinhle, Linda Mtoba and Tshepi Vundla took to the comments section to show Shudu some love.

MISS SA SHUDUFHADZO MUSIDA ANNOUNCES HER BOOK RELEASE

Reigning Miss SA Shudufhadzo Musida has announced another big project. The beauty queen has released her very first book titled ‘Shudu finds her magic’. The book speaks about bullying and the power of friendships. Shudu said her book is specifically for children aged between 4 and 12 years. She added that she hopes that through her book, they will find comfort.

The Miss SA Instagram page also shared that the book is inspired by Shudu’s childhood and the bullying she encountered when she moved to a new province and a new school.

Speaking about her book on Instagram, Shudu said: “Here are some moments in your life which you dream about but then to see it in real life, something tangible, something to hold. Now, that is something! I am filled with so much pride and joy to present this book authored by myself with beautiful illustrations by Chantelle and Burgen Thorne.

She said the book will be available in 6 languages towards the end of next month.

A piece of my heart captured on a page, written especially for kids. A story of struggles and hope. Of falling down and getting back up and of the incredible journey we call life! I hope that through my story you will find comfort in the fact that you are not alone, that you matter, that the world needs you!

Mzansi men are wondering if the beautiful Miss South Africa Shudufhadzo got married today. The speculation comes after Shudufhadzo posted her pictures in a gorgeous African outfit with the caption, ‘A dream came true today’.

MISS SA SHUDUFHADZO MUSIDA TO ADDRESS AT UNITED NATIONS EVENT

Reigning Miss South Africa, Shudufhadzo Musida is set to address a United Nations women’s event, where she will discuss the importance of education for girls and young women.

According to Shudu, as she’s affectionately known, her emphasis at the event will be on the need for mental health education.

The event will take place on Thursday, 1 July and will be held under the guidance of the Generation Equality Forum – a global movement for gender equality.

The Miss South Africa organisation said this is a high-profile advocacy drive to mobilise decision-makers to accelerate action and investment to address the alarming numbers of adolescent girls and young women acquiring HIV and dying of Aids in sub-Saharan Africa through the power of secondary education.

Speaking to Daily Sun, Shudu said she’s honoured to have been asked to speak at the event.

“I feel very strongly about the need for education around issues of mental health, especially the removal of the stigma attached to anything to do with mental illness.”

She said she believes there is a need for the integration of mental health education into existing programmes that target HIV prevention in communities and schools.

“An emphasis on mental health services may assist in the prevention and management of HIV,” she said.

“I call the mind the powerhouse. It’s the tool that can change lives and the narratives that exist in our society. For any change to come about in our societies, we need to empower the mind because if we don’t, we will live in a society that has low levels of self-awareness, inhibiting much-needed progress needed for our collective development.”

Shudu said this was particularly important now during the global pandemic that has affected everyone, especially young people.

Shudu at the event will be joined by an esteemed group of speakers including Tunisian diplomat Aya Chebbi, former African Union Youth Envoy Winnie Byanyima, UNAIDS executive director Lesotho Prime Minister Moeketsi Majoro and Gabon Prime Minister Rose Christiane Ossouka Raponda.

Miss SA Shudufhadzo Musida fired for craving pizza while Mzansi is mourning death of Lufuno

The trolling of reigning Miss South Africa is starting to get worrisome for many as it continuously happens. This time, what triggered the trolling was that she posted an “innocent” tweet about pizza, whilst the timeline is heartbroken over the passing of young Lufuno Mavhungu.

The timeline is filled with heartbreaking messages of condolences after the passing of the teenager. Mental health became the topic of focus and people either shared their stories of their own experiences or raised awareness about the illness.

As a person who pledged to focus on mental health when she wore the Miss SA crown, many looked towards Shudufhadzo Musida’s direction to say a few words about Lufuno. Instead, she posted about pizza and how good it tastes folded.
