Mampintsha’s mother, Zama Gumede is reportedly hospitalized after suffering a stroke. According to Zimoja, Gumede has been ill before her son’s death, but it got worse after his passing on the morning of 24th December 2o22. The Gqom star died of a stroke while receiving treatment in the hospital.

Mampintsha’s sister, Pinky Gumede details the situation of Zama’s health to the aforementioned publication. Pinky said Zama hasn’t been okay since her husband died in 2016. She had liver complications, but she is now worse. When Mandla died she wasn’t even drinking alcohol anymore.

“She is not taking Mandla’s death well. She started feeling ill before him but got worse when he was first admitted into the hospital,” Pinky adds. When she heard the news of her death, she became even more ill.”

“The doctor says her liver has been affected and she also has been diagnosed with a stroke. But her stroke is not bad, she will not be disabled If she takes her medication. She has not been able to eat properly and that is affecting how she takes her medication.” Pinky says.

Zimoja further reported that Zama is yet to accept the death of her son. Even now she is still asking for Mandla and I’ve had to tell her that he is at the airport,” Mandla’s sister says. Pink Gumede revealed her mother needs a private hospital and psychiatrist but no money to take care of the bills.

“I am even scared to ask them for help. It is costing me more than R140 to travel to the hospital every day to see uMa and I am running out of funds. I heard that the Simelane family knows that she is in hospital, but I am afraid of being the one that calls them and be as though I am harassing them. I don’t know what we have done to them. We are not greedy people; I just want her to be okay so she can deal with her son’s death,” Pinky added.

Zimoja Lezinto recently reported that Zama is livid over her daughter-in-law, Babes Wodumo’s behavior. The gqom queen has been trending on social media for the wrong reasons.

Scores of people are certainly not thrilled at how she is mourning and paying her last respect to her Mampintsha. Speaking to the publication Zama said Babes is disrespecting her son and she is not mourning properly.

“One; no offence, I love Babes, she and I reunited and made peace at the funeral, but this is not how things are done,” said Zamanguni Gumede.

“Firstly, she is not at home, she is gallivanting in the streets, drinking and partying. Two, she is not wearing traditional mourning clothes. The daughter of a pastor is not following the rules. She is doing things her own way” added Zamanguni Gumede
