Khama Billiat severely injured, he can’t walk anymore; Coach speaks as career goes down the drain

Khama Billiat’s manager Godfrey Vokal Bakasa has revealed that the Kaizer Chiefs star is in pain after suffering an injury during Amakhosi’s win against Mamelodi Sundowns last weekend.

The 30-year-old limped off the field after 43 minutes following a tackle by Sundowns’ Andile Jali earlier in the game.

Speaking to Zimbabwe’s H-Metro, Bakasa said Billiat was waiting for the results of a scan to ascertain the extent of the injury.

“I’ve been talking to him, he is in pain. The injury is on the same place as last time.

We are hopeful that it’s not that bad and we are waiting for scan results set to be out later today. His club doctors are handling the issue so they will tell him the impact of the injury and for how long he will be out. But we believe in God and pray that he will heal soon,” said Bokasa.

Meanwhile, Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt admitted on Wednesday that he is not sure when the Warriors star will be back in action.

“I am not sure. He’s got a kick on the same leg that he broke, so it’s not good. With us playing every two or three games, if you miss two or three weeks, he is going to miss a lot of games again. I am not sure what the diagnosis is there, but he certainly was not walking well. Well, he couldn’t walk really,” Hunt told media after Chiefs’ 1-0 loss to Chippa United.

Billiat returned to competitive action last month after being out of action since January following an injury that he suffered during Chiefs’ 2-0 loss to Maritzburg United.

Legendary striker Wilfred ‘Silver Fox’ Mugeyi believes stress might be one of the reasons Kaizer Chiefs and Zimbabwe star Khama Billiat is forever injured.

The 30-year-old was forced to pull out of the Zimbabwe Warriors squad that just qualified for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations finals due to the bad injury he suffered against Stellenbosch in January.

Mugeyi thinks personal issues might be one of the reasons Billiat is injury-prone.

“You know to be honest I’m also surprised because if you look when he played for Ajax [Cape Town], when we had Khama at Ajax, Khama was never injured. I don’t recall Khama missing a game. And we had three, four years with him,” Mugeyi tells KickOff .com.

“At Sundowns yes there was a time when he broke his metatarsal. I think he was out for almost three months or something like that. Then from there he played without a lot of injuries.

“But when he went to Chiefs he played two games and one month he’s out. He comes back, three games… two months he’s out. So I don’t really know what’s the problem. As I just said, we signed him [at Ajax] as a 16-year-old. He never missed a game.

“Sometimes it might be a stress. You understand when you play under stress… he might have problems at home, then you are bound to get injuries because your mind is not focused, you are thinking about something else while you are doing something else. Then you are prone to injuries.

“You never know, it might be the case, stress at home. Even in life in general he might have problems that he keeps to himself and is not telling people you see. So I think the head coach or the management need to sit down with him and ask him if he’s got any problems and try to help the boy.

“Probably he might have big problems at home and then he just keeps quiet. I mean he still has a lot to offer. He has got a lot of energy. And his body structure I mean he’s not a person who gets fat when he doesn’t train. That’s a good thing with Khama.

“So there’s nothing that’s going to hamper him when it comes to performance. The injuries are killing him. So if they can just sort out the injury thing, they can get a lot from him.”

The newspaper reported that Billiat recently paid lobola for the KwesakaMthethwa reserve born socialite.

Nomcebo recently released a video for her popular single Makoti under Phanda records.

Khama Billiat marries Uzalo actress as second wife

Zimbabwean footballer Khama Billiat (30) has paid lobola for 24-year-old former Uzalo actress and singer Nomcebo Mthethwa whom he is marrying as a second wife.

Khama Billiat married his 38-year-old Zimbabwean wife Esnath Munyedawo some ten years ago. The two share a daughter together and have not yet divorced.

The Zimbabwean ace is reported to have paid lobola for the South African actress and singer a few days ago, Smaniso Mthethwa, Nomcebo’s mather confirmed to City Press.

Nomcebo quit Uzalo earlier last year to pursue her music career. She has since been crowned Gqom Goddess from the music genre she sings.

Nomcebo Dot Mthethwa – as she’s affectionately known – jumped on the Gqom radar with her debut single Amadlozi.

Her latest offering, Makoti is doing well in musical circles. The title was probably a celebration for her new journey with Khama.

While the two haven’t yet come out publicly about the new developments, Nomcebo’s mother has confirmed the Zimbabwean star paid lobola saying all questions about the couple should be referred to them instead.

If recent events are anything to go by, the Zimbabwean soccer player’s marriage is in rocks – and has been for a long time now.

Last year, the player was allegedly stabbed by his baby mama (who’s not his wife) over his failure to pay maintenance for their child.

As if it runs in the family for the star, his father also found himself in a similar predicament late last year after his second wife dragged him to court over child maintenance.

If by anything, the Khamas prefer doubles – and more.

The publication’s efforts to get through to the soccer player before the story was published was fruitless.
