Wow! Actors Howza and Salamina mark 15th wedding anniversary

South African rapper and actor Tshepo ‘Howza’ Mosese took to his Instagram page on Wednesday, 28 September, and penned his wife, actress, and film producer Salamina a heartfelt message as the day marked their 15th wedding anniversary.

Howza and Salamina are undeniably one of South Africa’s favourite couples. Over the years, they have managed to keep their marriage away from the spotlight as they continue to excel in their marriage. The duo celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary on Wednesday and had netizens gushing over them after Howza penned Salamina a touching message on his feed.

“Happy 15th Anniversary my love. Thank you for continuing to choose me in the good and tough moments. We are where we are in marriage by the grace of God. Here’s to many more great memories,” he penned.

During an interview on Defining earlier this year, Salamina is said to have opened up about how she and her husband, the former Scandal! actor worked on their marriage behind closed doors, TshisaLIVE reported.

“We went through a period where we both stopped acting because we didn’t want to have acting jobs that required us to have on-screen relationships and after that period, it was our healing time and a time to find ourselves in the relationship. After that, we were OK because we needed to grow into our marriage, and I’m so glad we did that for ourselves because we didn’t pretend it’s not hard,” Salamina was quoted as saying.

Howza and wife celebrate 13 years of marriage

Tshepo ‘Howza’ Mosese and Salamina Mosese are today celebrating their beautiful union. We cannot beleive it has been 13 years already, time does fly hey.

The Scandal actor, Howza, took to Instagram to appreciate his lovely wife. He said, “I’m the luckiest man on earth to be celebrating 13 years of unconditional love with you Nana…❤️ May God continue to reign supreme in your heart dear. It wouldn’t be an anniversary if the lovebirds did not post each other right? Well Salamina also left us shedding a tear or two with her heartfelt message to her husband. Howza announced 4 months ago that he has taken the decision to exit popular soapie Scandal! after 8 years of playing Lerumo Chabedi. He entered the soapie in the year 2013 playing a bodyguard. Thereafter he secured a more permanent role as a detective in Newtown.

The multitalented actor who is also a rapper, singer and TV presenter, announced his departure on the 1st of of June, saying he looks forward to the future.

Tshepo “Howza” Mosese is exiting daily drama Scandal! after eight years to pay full attention to his first love – music.

Joining the show in 2013, Mosese gained popularity playing the e.tv soapie’s top cop Lerumo Chabedi.

During his stay on the show, the character has been known to heat up the screen with hot romance with leading ladies Kgomotso Christopher, Fulu Mugovhani and Nolo Seabi.

“It wasn’t an easy decision to make but it feels like the right time for me to embark on new challenges and push myself out of my comfort zone,” he told Sowetan yesterday.

“I have enjoyed playing this character but I am ready to cut my teeth playing different characters again.

“Being on a soapie for an extended period of time doesn’t always allow one the freedom to work on other projects and that is what I want to do.”

Mosese has also starred in other daily dramas, including Backstage and Generations.

He scored his breakout gig in 2008 with youth magazine show, Big Up, and went to host All You Need is Love in 2012. He currently presents consumer show Speak Out on SABC 2.

Mosese jumped into the music scene as Howza, a hip hop and kwaito artist, in the 2000s.

“I am looking forward to refocusing on my first love, which is making music. I have been back in the studio for a while now, working on new material,” Mosese said.

“I have not released new music in a long time. I am excited about how much the game has changed since the last time I put music out.

“Now more than ever before, the world is literally just one click away. I am, of course, going to continue pursuing my acting career. I am ready for more action roles.”

One of the things he’s going to miss on Scandal! is playing opposite his on-screen father Jerry Mofokeng Wa Makhetha (Neo Mokhethi).

“I really enjoyed working with Dr Jerry Mofokeng. He pushed me as a performer and we got very close over the years.

“I learned a lot from him not only as an actor but also as a man. My late father’s name was actually Neo, so this whole on-screen experience felt a lot like art imitating real-life.”

His favourite storyline on the show remains when in 2015 his character had a kidney illness and Mosese drastically lost weight – shocking viewers.

“That was one of the hardest but most rewarding storylines that I got to bring to life on the show. I pushed my body physically too because I lost so much weight.

“I threw myself into the storyline because I wanted to do the storyline justice. Actors on soapies very rarely get to immerse themselves into one storyline and even change appearance because the medium of soapies moves so quickly through the storylines of different characters.”
