ACTRESS PHUMEZA MDABE’S BLIND SON MPILO GETS A LIFE CHANGING GIFT

Phumeza Mdabe has been very candid and open about her son Mpilo’s journey after surviving cancer. Little 7-year-old Mpilo had his eyes removed after being diagnosed with cancer. Yearly, he has to get new sets of prosthetic eyes and this year he had them fitted 2 months ago.

Phumeza revealed that she surprised Mpilo with a new cane and he is overjoyed. This after he got his new eyes fitted last month. “Someone (@mpilontsikamdabe) got his new cane and is over the moon,” she said, also in disbelief at how grown her 14-year-old daughter is. “Also, this can’t be my 14 year old daughter. They grow up way too fast,” she added.

Phumeza shared a picture of both her children looking all excited. Her followers are always left in awe at how Mpilo is always smiling.

Last month, Mpilo got informed by his mom that he would be getting new eyes fitted but he got excited by the possibility of being able to see like everybody else. Unfortunately, his mom had to burst his bubble and with the help of a few tears, Phumeza had to inform him that he would never be able to see again.

“Mpilo is getting new prosthetic eyes fitted soon, he screamed and said, ‘I’m gonna see like everyone else.’ I had to explain that he will never have vision again while a lump sat in my throat and trying my best for him not to hear me crying. This journey isn’t easy at all,” she tweeted.

She thanked the person who gifted Mpilo with the new eyes saying he does not want to be revealed. After tweeting that, Phumeza said she received so much love from people and expressed gratitude. “I just wanted to thank all of you for the messages of hope & love after I shared how excited I was to tell Mpilo he was getting new prosthetic eyes, only to realise he didn’t understand that he will never see again. All went well.”

Anniversary wishes for her husband

Phumeza Mdabe, despite being a career-driven woman is happily married to musician husband Mnqobi “Shota” Mdabe. The pair have been married for a while now and share four beautiful children.

They recently celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary. Taking to Instagram, the Unmarried actress penned a sweet message to her husband.

Many of Phumeza Mdabe’s friends and followers filled her comments with well wishes and congratulatory messages.

After a career break to focus on her family, Actress and TV presenter Phumeza Mdabe, now hosts Abandoned, a new reality show that sets about to help abandoned children track down their family members.

Phumeza Mdabe helps children and people who were left on park benches, commuter stations or at orphanages to search and reconnect with those who abandoned them and to help them find a sense of belonging.

Phumeza Mdabe may not get back to singing

TV personality Phumeza Mdabe says she is putting her music career on hold for a bit because she is not inspired at the moment.

Talking to Zalebs on the topic, the host of the reality show Abandoned, had this to say:

“If it does happen, I will need to be really inspired and I will not do house music anymore. I will have to change genre but this music thing will not happen anytime soon. Right now I am more into presenting, acting, and putting all my energy in my business and definitely looking after my family.”

Phumeza Mdabe’s son stays cancer free

Phumeza Mdabe’s son Ntsika was reportedly diagnosed with cancer in 2015. It’s been six years now and the ‘Abandoned’ reality show host is overjoyed with the fact that that her son’s cancer has not returned.

Back then she said: “My son has been cleared, he will be checked by the doctor every six months. During the break I was not thinking of work, my heart and mind was with my son and everything is well now,” she said.
