Actress Botlhale Boikanyo bags a degree

Congratulations are in order for Botlhale Boikanyo as she bags a degree in Motion Pictures.

The star made the news known through her Instagram revealing that she is prepared to make her mark in the world of film and television.

Botlhale also shared that she won an award for Producing: “I’m so proud of this little black girl who against all odds followed her dreams & passion and preserved through it all. This moment here is the start of a new chapter for me, an affirmation of my dreams and a step closer towards achieving them, she wrote.

She also said she is grateful to God and those who were her support system all through.

“I’m so grateful to God for allowing me to walk in my purpose, for each gift & for always making provision. Grateful to my support structure that was there through it all. WE DID IT. I present to you Botlhale Boikanyo – a qualified Director & Producer on the way to making her mark in this industry.”

Dupped as the golden girl of small screens, the bubbly actress has proved her worth when it comes to acting. Botlhale Boikanyo is a celebrated South African actress best known for her on-screen character on etvs drama series Scandal as Omphile.

Apart from acting, the bubbly actress doubles as a poet and performer. Unlike others who were thrust into the limelight through theatre, Botlhale made a name for herself when she won the South Africa’s Got Talent show whilst 13-years-old.

Of interest is that she was introduced to poetry whilst she was just six years old. From there, she was performing at big stages before her thrust into the stardom, which came in the backdrop of South Africa’s Got Talent win in 2012. Two years down the line, the actress released her original poetry album Spoken Word and Music.

However, fortune favours the bold in the wake of her big wins; she bagged a gig on Scandal as Omphile Ngema. On-screen, she is talkative and is a free-spirited teen who has her fair share of teen struggles, from relationships to education struggles.

She hogged all sorts of headlines at some point when her on-screen character was taken out of context. In one of the scenes, she trended after giving one of the boys a thorough beating because of crushing on her friend.

Despite the scene being one of the best, Mzansi implied that she was part of the LGBTQ community. However, there is nothing wrong with that though after all.

Well, a few days ago she saw herself trending after she revealed she let Mzansi sneak into her private life as she celebrated her third anniversary with her long-time boyfriend Kagiso Phaswana. In the wake of her success, Mzansi has been wondering how old could she be?

No doubt she has the plug and the bling too. The actress was born on 23 May 2001, Mahikeng, North West, South Africa. No way who knew she was this young. At the age of 20-years, she already has an illustrious career capped with accolades and glory. She is poised for greatness and that’s definitely another Leleti Khumalo in the making.

Actress Botlhale Boikanyo to star in an upcoming movie titled Magwinya Money

Congratulations are in order for the young actress and poet Botlhale Boikanyo. The Scandal star is starring in the new movie titled ‘Magwinya Money. ’ The movie is set to premiere on Mzansi Magic Channel 161 on 5 June 2021.

Sharing the exciting news on Instagram, Botlhale thanked the production team of the film, she said she is excited to finally share the great news.

She wrote: “Re etsa di movie dawg. God did it again! So excited to finally share this body of work with you all. Thank you to @phenomenalmedia for the opportunity. Thank you to the phenomenal cast & crew who were part of creating this film (i honestly met the most genuine souls on this set. Please tune into ‘Magwinya Money’ this Saturday at 20:30 on Mzani Magic channel 161.”

Botlhale rose to fame at the age of 11 after she won E-TV’s SA’s Got Talent competition back in 2012.

In 2015 she made her debut on the popular e-tv soap opera Scandal playing the role of Omphile.

Speaking about her journey then, she told ZAlebs: “It’s been amazing in the sense that I’ve managed to pace myself. The things and the opportunities that I’ve come across have come at the right time and have happened when they were supposed to happen. It’s been a good year.”

She added that she has learnt that opportunities do not come easy however she wants to produce her own show at the age of 25.

“I’ve learnt about how tough it is. Things are not always as easy as they seem. Opportunities don’t come as easily as people think they do…At 25, I wanna be the producer of my own show. Hopefully, I’ll have my own production company. I’ll be acting,” she said.

Botlhale recently celebrated her 20th birthday. Taking to Instagram to celebrate her special day, she thanked everyone for the love and support and her boyfriend for making her weekend special.

She said this year she has been kinder to herself and she is looking forward to the next chapter.
