Acclaimed South African actor, Sello Maake kaNcube, is demanding paternity tests from his two baby mamas after suspecting infidelity during their relationships. If the DNA tests confirm that the children are his, he intends to include them in his will, Sunday World has reported.

Maake kaNcube, who is best known for his roles in Generations and Skeem Saam, wrote a letter to his lawyers, Makgopa Attorneys, instructing them to summon his former partner, author and speaker Mmatshilo Motsei, to take a paternity test. In the letter, Maake kaNcube expressed his suspicion that Motsei was romantically involved with a journalist while they were dating.

After careful consideration, I would like assistance in getting a summons to request a paternity test for the child I might have with the second respondent, Mmatshilo Motsei,” reads the letter.

Maake kaNcube also revealed that Motsei threatened to abort the child during her pregnancy and that he endured months of uncertainty regarding the paternity of the child. He further alleged that Motsei was colluding with their child’s college to attach his luxury vehicle over unpaid school fees, even though he did not sign any papers as a parent on the school fee payment agreement.

“Secondly, she is colluding with the school to hold me liable for a debt she knows I have nothing to do with and couldn’t afford as I have five other children that I know of. Her general conduct towards me and my wellbeing is overall questionable. Her sinister behaviour in trying to bring me down leaves a bitter taste in my mouth,” reads the letter.

Maake kaNcube further alleged that Motsei had been working tirelessly to ensure he lost business deals and had prohibited the child from visiting him when he was working in London. He also accused Motsei of using their child as a pawn to justify her internal fight towards him.

“I do GBV-related work, and she is in the same space; she would fight me for her not getting enough airtime. I have never known anyone who advocated against such a pandemic to do it simply for airtime and publicity,” he said.

When contacted for comment, Motsei agreed to take the paternity test but denied egging on the school to impound Maake kaNcube’s vehicle. “I have noted the contents of this email, and I agree with the idea of a paternity test,” she said.

Sunday World also reported that Maake kaNcube wrote to his other baby mama, Winnie Xundu, demanding a DNA test. He has been supporting the child financially after Xundu informed him that he was the father upon his return from London 14 years ago. However, he is now doubting the paternity of the child.

Maake kaNcube declined to comment when contacted by Sunday World.

While paternity fraud is a serious issue, it is also important to note that DNA tests can be a source of emotional distress for all parties involved. Children may feel confused and hurt by the revelation that their biological father is not who they thought he was, while mothers may feel judged and stigmatized for their past relationships. It is crucial that all parties approach the situation with sensitivity and empathy.

SA's most honest woman: Actor Sello Maake KaNcube’s wife Pearl Mbewe reveals what destroyed their marriage

In a candid and deeply personal statement, Pearl Mbewe, wife of acclaimed actor Sello Maake kancube, has taken full responsibility for the majority of the marital problems that have plagued their three-year union. Mbewe’s statement, sent to Sunday World, comes in the wake of allegations that Maake kancube had physically assaulted her at the Grahamstown Festival in the Eastern Cape.

“Let me start by saying I take full responsibility for the majority of our problems,” Mbewe wrote, her words carrying the weight of genuine remorse. “I come from a single-parent background and all I have known all my life is how to survive and make things happen for and by myself. I live up to my nickname ‘Solo’. I found it difficult to fuss and merge myself into our relationship as I have always operated on my own and not really accountable to anyone as an adult that is.”

Mbewe’s statement paints a picture of a woman struggling to reconcile her independent spirit with the demands of a committed relationship. She candidly admits to her shortcomings, revealing a pattern of behaviour that ultimately contributed to the strain on their marriage.

“My personality soon made way for a series of events which resulted in my husband and I finding ourselves with the difficult decision of where to divorce me or not,” she wrote, acknowledging the gravity of her actions.

Mbewe’s self-reflection extends to her tendency to overshare intimate details of their relationship with friends, a decision she now deeply regrets.

“Every woman is warned against discussing their relationship issues with friends, regardless [of whether] you are married or not,” she wrote. “One of my biggest mistakes is that I talked with people about my marital problems, even those that I was too blind to see were not happy for me in general. This caused a huge strive between my husband and I as he expressed that he now feels uncomfortable in the company of some people as he knows that I have over shared intimate details of our marital problems but not having shared my contribution towards our problems.”

Mbewe’s honesty extends to her volatile behaviour during arguments, admitting to using harsh language and failing to exercise restraint.

“This is the part that is very sad and extremely disturbing because, looking back we honestly wouldn’t be where we are now if I stayed present in each and every moment of my life with my husband,” she wrote. “One thing my husband did was to open up his life to me, this includes his pin codes to his phones and bank accounts. Not many women can say their husbands do this and yet to me it still felt like he was not doing enough, enough of what I don’t even know myself.”

Despite her struggles, Mbewe vehemently denies allegations of physical abuse, stating that Maake kancube has never raised a hand to her.

“As I have narrated, our issues in our marriage are not special to or unique to us, we are a married couple and disagreements and arguments will always be there but that does not mean we don’t love each other,” she wrote. “Yes, we had an argument and whatever else its called in the media. I would like to unequivocally state that my husband has never laid his hand on me. I can confidently say he will never lay his hands on me because I have been living with him for the past four years and trust me, I know myself. If he hasn’t raised his hands on me after all these years, believe me when I say he never will.”

Mbewe’s statement, while deeply personal, speaks to a larger societal issue: the complexities of relationships and the need for open communication and self-reflection. Her willingness to take responsibility for her actions, even in the face of public scrutiny, is a testament to her strength and character.

“Ordinarily, I would have kept quiet and not have said anything on this matter but I can’t just sit on the sidelines and watch people castrate my husband’s character on baseless allegations,” she wrote. “Ntate Sello has given himself to the cause of being a better man than what he is now and it’s unfair to watch all this work go down the drain due to assumptions. GBV is a serious issue in our country and I would never compromise myself by defending my husband if he was indeed a perpetrator.”

“She is extremely good at managing my brand and career, and I’m extremely good at making sure I deliver the best performances ever so that I make her job easy. Bottom line is we strive to support each other at all cost. People say it will end in tears and I agree all marriages end in tears, either through divorce or through death of one partner,” he wrote.

“Focus on yourself and your happiness! Make that woman feel and know that she is the only one for you. My wife is what God ordered for me and I pray each person finds their Pearl in this lifetime. Pearl Mbewe Maake Kancube #MrandMrsMaakekaNcube.”

Actor Sello Maake kaNcube may have got hitched to his new wife Pearl Solo Mbewe in Zanzibar but legal trouble from his past relationship is looming over his newfound love.

The veteran actor, according to Sunday World, has been served with letters of demand from his ex-wife, Palesa Mboweni, to pay her over R213 000 in legal fees and spousal maintenance, and a share of the division of a joint estate. The couple divorced about five years ago after less than a year of marriage. The marriage reportedly ended on a sour note, with allegations of cars being torched.

In their divorce settlement, the actor was expected to pay for her legal fees, provide spousal support and buy her out of their Dube house in Soweto. KaNcube and Mboweni were married in community of property.

“Bill for outstanding payment due to the defendant in Re: Sello Joel Maake kaNcube/Palesa Rosemary Maake kaNcube. Spousal half share matrimonial immovable property by agreement R100 000,” reads the first letter dated November 2, this year, which the publication has seen.

The businesswoman has threatened to take the actor back to court as he has been in default since 2017.
The former “The Herd” actor, who last month said “I do” in Zanzibar, told the publication he was in arrears due to being unemployed.

“I’m now maintained by my wife. I’m not working, it is difficult now especially because of Covid-19,” he told them. The actor usually keeps his romantic life out of the spotlight.

Actor Sello Maake Kancube resigns – Ex-girlfriend tries to rape him

Internationally acclaimed actor Sello Maake Kancube has resigned from a popular anti-gender-based violence organisation after its director and musician Tebogo Lerole and media personality JJ Tabane accused him of women abuse.

Kancube stepped down as spokesperson for Act Now after learning that Lerole and Tabane told businesswoman Khumo Moetse, who wanted to donate funds to the star-studded organisation, that they were planning to kick the actor to the kerb because he was a woman abuser.

Speaking to Sunday World, the former Generations actor confirmed that he quit the organisation last week because the two connived with his former girlfriend to badmouth him to the donor. Kancube said Tabane and Lerole had met Moetse in Joburg recently to advise her not to donate funds into the organisation unless the thespian resigned from his position.

Kancube said he was aware that Tabane and Lerole got the information from his former lover, whom he admittedly beat up in what he called an “interrelationship violence” in 2002 after she, among others, allegedly tried to force him to have sex and even tore his clothes to shreds. He said after their fight, they forgave each other and moved on with their lives.

“After the fight, I asked her to go to the police and get me arrested for what I had done to her. But she said she had forgiven me, basically we forgave each other and moved on with our lives. This is something that I’m not proud of and still haunts me even today, and I wish I could have handled the situation differently,” he said. Kancube said he went to rehab to deal with his anger and had not laid his hand on any woman since then. “It hurts me that these people are now using my past to undermine my efforts to fight gender-based violence in this country. “I challenge any woman to come out now and say I had abused her since then,” he said.

Lerole confirmed that he was invited to a meeting where he met Tabane and Moetse but denied that he bad mouthed the actor. “I swear I had nothing negative to say about him because to me he was formidable force in the organisation and I hold him in high regards,” he said.

Tabane said he had indeed advised Moetse that Kancube’s participation in the organisation undermined its reputation. “He is a crook. He is just looking for attention, I’m not the one who wants to undermine his reputation, he is the one who tattered it.

“Why should we allow him to be an ambassador with such a reputation?” asked Tabane. Moetse confirmed that Tabane told her in their meeting with Lerole that Kancube was a woman abuser and discouraged her from funding Act Now with the actor as spokesperson. “Tebogo then responded by saying that Sello had gone to rehab,” she said. She also confirmed that she told Kancube about the allegation.
