South Africa’s removal on UK red list could be game-changer for tourism
South Africa’s removal from the UK’s Red list is good for its business partnership with the UK, but it could be a game-changer for the tourism industry.
Sharon Constancon, from the SA Chamber of Commerce in the UK, says hopefully all those tourists who didn’t have a chance to visit the country in the last 18 months will now do so.
South Africa is expected to be among countries that will be removed from the UK’s Red List on Thursday.
Constancon said, “it is so critically important, one for relationships with a key business partner, one for UK/Brexit business opportunities, SA is a trade destination for Africa and importantly, the one that everyone is so emotional about and is so important to the country and the economy is the tourism.”
“It makes the decision this week so much critical than in three week’s time.”
