Somizi allegedly transfers his assets to his daughter, Bahumi to evade SARS
South African media personality and reality TV star Somizi Mhlongo is alleged to have transferred his assets to his daughter Bahumi Mhlongo to run away from the South African Revenue Services (SARS), which was pursuing him.
Yesterday, the publication reported that the LTDWS star lost some of his luxury furniture to the South African Revenue Service (SARS) for allegedly not paying his taxes. Styleyou7 alleged that Sandton North sheriff Kgomotso Mphahlele indicated that the move aimed to recover at least R3.5 million in tax debt owed by the media personality since 2014.
The items taken away by the court and auctioned off include “a Samsung washing machine, three plastic bar chairs, two red human statues, a Hisense television, a Smeg dishwasher”, and many more.
Social media blogger Musa Khawula has alleged that Somizi transferred his assets to his daughter Bahumi so that he could evade the taxman.
Bahumi changes her surname to Mhlongo. Somizi is suspected to have transferred his assets to his daughter. Somizi Mhlongo sets to file for bankruptcy. Somizi uses his reality show and influence to garner support. Coincidence much?
Somizi or Bahumi have not addressed these allegations.
Last week, IOL reported that Somizi’s daughter, who had been using her mother’s surname all her life, changed her surname to her father’s last name, Mhlongo.
On Living The Dream With Somizi, she told her actress mother, Palesa Madisakwane, that she wanted to use her father’s surname. Palesa had reservations because Somizi had not yet paid damages for their daughter.
She also mentioned that certain traditional rituals had to be performed before Bahumi could change her surname. However, Bahumi has allegedly changed her surname as her Instagram name is now Bahumi Mhlongo.
The move now seems to have been a ploy to transfer Somizi’s assets to Bahumi so that he does not lose everything to SARS.
